I have now been working with TDH mechanical for 3 years now. They put in both of the two flat units, an AC and a new heater in the upstairs. Cleaned out the duct work the first year I moved in, and condition and service the ac and furnaces every year. Their customer service is great, and I have always had good interactions with their service workers. Chrissy with the trees tatoos is a great one to recommend if you wanna laugh at silly jokes and get your ac unit in tip top working order.
I can not remember the other guys names, but a few have been called out to the house more than once. So that tells me retention is good? I donno. Seems like a good business. They do what they say, for a reasonable price.

Our furnace died in the middle of winter the day before a big cold front. TDH was not only the quickest to respond to us but was able to get a new furnace installed the next day for a great price. I have no complaints and would highly recommend them!

TDH did a great job replacing a water source heat pump in my unit. Anyone who has one of these knows it’s hard to find people who know what they are doing and TDH crushed it.

The guys were professional, arrived on site early (ok), and immediately went to work nonstop till completion. All vestiges of the non-functioning furnace was removed leaving nothing for me to clean up! My wife and myself are very comfortable now. The price was reasonable as well. Kudos to the team!!

We replaced our furnace and air conditioner. Tim took the time to walk us through various options and help us make a selection of equipment appropriate to our needs, price was very competitive to other bids we'd gotten a year or so ago. Crew was punctual, great to interact with, skilled, and kept their noses to the grindstone to finish the job in one long day. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Jim from TDH came out to give us an estimate. He arrived on time, checked everything and gave us an estimate. We got 3 bids and went with them because of their excellent warranty on parts and labor. Their price was very competitive and we now have a beautiful new TRANE central air. We also had them install an AprilAir humidifier at the same time.

First, I believe TDH Mechanical is worth 5 stars, but I find that 5-star reviews are not very useful and, in my own search, appreciated reviews much more when they gave the good along with the not-so-good.
I contracted with TDH this past summer to replace two ~20yo HVAC units in my duplex. After getting upwards of four quotes from contractors around the Chicagoland area, I decided on TDH Mechanical. This was based on a number of factors: competitive quote (not the cheapest quote; I believe they were 2nd lowest), quality product (based on good online reviews about Trane vs other products), TDH are commercial operators (gave me much confidence), and the customer service to Tim and his team. Tim was more than accommodating with me when I requested more documents (I requested business licenses, insurance, etc to verify their legitimacy and to protect myself) and went back and forth on the quote. His customer service ethic really showed as I truly felt he wanted my business and wanted to prove himself as a trustworthy contractor (you cannot be too careful with so many unlicensed, unbonded, uninsured contractors out there)
I appreciated all of Tim's work with me ahead of time working out all the details of the project so that we could finish in completely in one day. Tim had set my expectations ahead of time that two units might take multiple days (which I was prepared for but was difficult to arrange) and I was very happy when he sent a big team over and they finished it the first day. There were a couple hiccups during the install, but once I pointed them out, the team quickly moved to rectify them (in the pouring rain nonetheless).
I have delayed writing this review until my new HVAC system was up and running for a few months to account for any adjustments, breakdowns, etc that might have popped up after the new install. I am happy to report that my HVAC worked without issue for the remainder of the summer and into the fall. What has been most amazing is my savings on my heating and cooling bills since the new units were installed. The old units were near 20yo and completely clogged with dirt, dust, etc from years of abuse by the previous owners. It's evident that the entire system - HVAC and heating - were working overtime to pump air through these old units. Over the first 3 months, my electricity usage decreased by an average of 73%! (Not an exaggeration: 1235kWh for July to 617kWh for August) With those savings and no hiccups or breakdowns, I am extremely happy with my service, and am likely to use TDH Mechanical for my future repairs and to replace my furnaces in a few years time.

On Sunday evening I went to Home Advisor to begin looking for a furnace installer. I received my first call from Tim of TDH Mechanical, Inc. (TDH) and then a second call came from Jim of TDH and we set up an appointment for a service rep to quote on a new furnace to replace existing. When TDH service rep Ken arrived, he reviewed the existing equipment and wrote up a quote itemized for; a conventional Trane 80% furnace, a Trane 95% high efficiency and a Trane AC on the spot. I then had a follow up call that same evening from Kristina of TDH Mechanical asking if I had any questions regarding the proposal. I was impressed by the follow up from TDH.
I had to wait a couple more days to get a couple other quotes. I contacted Kristina of TDH Wednesday and informed her that I would like them to install the 95% high efficiency furnace and the install was scheduled for 7am Thursday.
The installers Jesus and Cesar arrived around 7am Thursday (today) to install it. As of 4pm today, the old furnace and old ac coil was removed and the new Trane 95% high efficiency furnace installed and operational. In addition they helped me with ComEd and Peoples Gas rebates and Trane warranty registration. I am pleased and highly recommend TDH Mechanical, Inc. for your HVAC needs.
