Shumate Mechanical

I have used Shumate Mechanical for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and handyman services. I use them not because they are the most affordable, but because they have always been on-time, do the work they say they will do, and do a quality job.

Their handyman team built out my work office in my basement and I have been very happy with the results.

Even in the rare cases where something has been missed, they come back and correct the issue.

It is refreshing to find a company you can trust and rely on.

What a great company! Jimmy is the best technician I have ever dealt with. Treated the whole visit like a learning experience, not an opportunity for a sale. I learned so much from him. Explained everything so thoroughly and clearly! It was 11 at night and our ac went out. He was so quick, courteous, and superbly professional. These guys have a lifelong customer from us for sure! Waste of time. Said they needed
Help. Said they loved my Interview. Sent me to take a drug test and physical took 2 hrs but everything came back fine. Said all we needed was my background check. Two weeks later I called to check on the status. They said it came back two days ago and it was fine as well but got to busy to call me and said they had a meeting and they can't hire anyone right now. All of a sudden they are on a hiring freeze. Look at the picture. Notice anything? SMDH

Shumate came out for an AC tune up on April 2nd and we had a musty smell for weeks after the service. I called Shumate and they scheduled another technician to come out and take a look. The scheduler said they would notify me before anything was charged. A technician came out today and no remedial work was done, but they still want to collect an $89 dollar service fee.

We have been Shumate customers for over 5 years and had a complete system installation when we moved into our house. Pretty disappointed in the customer service with this visit since they were verifying their own tune up work and still charging a fee.

The entire experience was very stress free. Richard did a great job helping us choose the units we needed. The installation crew was very professional. They showed up on time, completed the job quickly and left our home as clean as when they arrived. We have never had an issue with Shumate for service and are completely satisfied with using them to replace our HVAC units.

Jimmy was phenomenal! It was day 1 of moving into our new house and the AC was not working. Jimmy came out at dusk, worked until dark, made all the repairs and did a maintenance service. He was communicative, helpful, professional and I am a customer for life.

I have to say that I procrastinated replacing our HVAC system due to cost as long as I possibly could. But I am loving this new HVAC system from Shumate. The team who installed it all in one day was very professional. The system works perfectly. I love controlling it all from my phone and the speed with which it cools and heats the house. Most importantly, it operates whisper quiet. I would definitely recommend Shumate and Bob Reid to anyone looking for a new HVAC system.

Nobody is perfect, but Shumate Heating and Air comes pretty darn close. Had an issue with our freon the last couple of years, and decided to go ahead and replace the entire HVAC system. We called Shumate on a Sunday - and even though we got other quotes from other AC dealers, theirs was by far the best value...and BY FAR the fastest.
Highly recommend Shumate for Air Conditioning (and we ended up using them for some Plumbing stuff, too!).

I’ve been a Shumate customer for several years. They provide great service with competent technicians. Recently I had an issue with my air conditioner and they repaired it promptly. Later in the hot season I noticed the air was not as cool as it should be. Shumate worked with me diligently to uncover the problem and repaired it quickly. I am in the process of moving and will gladly call Shumate to service my next home.
