We had a full, new HVAC system installed by 1st Choice 2 1/5 yrs ago and this is the first problem we've had with it. As it turns out their was a freon leak (or whatever coolant is used these days). Within 45 minutes our technician (Chance) checked the entire system, replaced the valve and re-charged our system. It is now cooling and assuming it continues to work properly, problem solved. As always, 1st Choice people are responsive, respectful and dedicated to taking care of their customers. That is why I have recommended them in the past, including family members, and will continue to do so.

1st Choice was extremely professional. They fit us in for service in a timely manner and got our unit back up and running. The technician notified us when he was enroute and arrived on time and completed the service very quickly. They will be our first call for all of our AC needs!

Jeff showed up on time, diagnosed the issue, was super nice and very professional. He sent us pictures of what type of filters we should buy, and he got our a/c up and running again! I definitely recommend this company.

Chance the technician arrived on time and was friendly. When I explained what had happened, he immediately went outside and waved his magic wand and the AC started. He opened the unit and said that I needed a new capacitor and that solved the problem. Very happy that he was able to fix my problem so quickly.

Jeff was the technician that responded to my malfunctioning thermostat. He was polite, professional and never tried to sell me something I didn't need. He quickly diagnosed my problem and replaced the thermostat. My AC now works like it should. Highly recommended

I worked with James on the inspection and quote, and was very pleased at his quick responses. Alex and Luis came promptly on time the day of the installation and were very professional and hard working. I would love to work with them in the future. Highly recommend for anyone who will be installing a new AC system.

Maybe a bit cliche- but 1st Choice is my first choice. My family has owned a large heating and air conditioning business since the 50’s. Having done HVAC work I know the ins and outs of what it takes to be good in this industry.

When I went to have a completely new system installed a few years ago, I weighed doing it myself, deal with the family, or hiring out. After meeting with 1st choice I canceled the remaining bids and signed their estimate. They relocated my air handler, split the house into two zones, added two returns, and added an extra drop into a large room along with installing a new condenser and all new ducting.

When the air balance was not quite right in the master bedroom, they cheerfully came back out and added another drop and rebalanced the back of the house without charging me.

Recently when one of my zone dampers was not closing, I thought for all of a half second about crawling up in the attic and diagnosing and fixing it myself before calling 1st choice. They came out, ruled out any possible contributors and isolated the issue. They will be back in a couple of days with parts. Even though I am WELL outside their generous labor warranty, they are standing by their work despite it being a part failure not associated with anything they did.

Next spring I will be having them back out to add a third zone to my garage for my rock climbing wall and home gym. Wouldn’t even consider doing the relatively easy job myself given their prices, professionalism and high quality work.

Honestly, I’m not sure how they stay in business. Their work is top notch, their employees are amazing (which typically means they are paying them well) and their prices are great. Given overhead costs in Orange County, I don’t understand how they do it, but I’m happy to continue to use and recommend 1st choice heating and air!!

He made repairs to the a/c drain system that the original a/c company installed incorrectly causing a back up of water and causing the system to only work sporadically. He also made a p-well for the outside drain that had been covered up with mud by the gardener.
He was excellent at explaining everything that was wrong and what repairs needed to be done.

Eric was in the time window expected, super knowledgeable, friendly, professional, didn’t rush & took time to answer questions. Went out of his way to do a superior service. I have used many repair vendors & this one I definitely feel comfortable using again. Didn’t try & upsell or mislead.
