We have been without AC for a while now because we were terrified it was going to be a hard and expensive fix. We went through another company a few years back and they “fixed it”, left, and not even an hour later we had to call them back because it didn’t fix. They cost a fortune. RKL came today, and a man named Buddy was so friendly and sweet and fixed our AC within literally 15 minutes. And very VERY reasonable pricing as well. I could not be happier with this company and will definitely be back if we have any HVAC problems. I will recommend to anyone!
Robert is a very respectful, professional, friendly, and handsome young man. He called 15 minutes ahead of of the scheduled appointment to confirm he would arrive on time. He performed the summer HVAC maintenance efficiently and with a pleasent demeanor. I was very comfortable with him entering the house and working unsupervised. He performed the maintenance in a timely manner and then changed all seven of my air filters. He had no issues climbing ladders to access vent panels that were out of reach. He assisted with taping up a exhaust hood vent gap in the cabinetry. I think he went above and beyond what was scheduled by his office to make sure I was completely satisfied. His software or hardware that he used to read credit cards was on the fritz, but he had no problem accepting cash.
I called this company because the AC wasn’t cooling my home. When I called I asked when was the earliest someone called come out for an estimate and the rep said the same day. The techs showed up and I told them what was happening. He asked me to show him the thermostat. After I showed him the thermostat he said “okay” and went outside. I’m thinking they’re out there trying to figure out what’s wrong with the HVAC. They come back inside and say they’re finished. Are you kidding me? They didn’t even provide the estimate and never said what was wrong with the unit to begin with. That’s the purpose of an estimate, to give me the opportunity to determine if I want to proceed with using this company or another company with a better estimate. I had to call to ask what was even wrong with the unit, what work they did, and I asked for an invoice to be emailed. I called the office and the manager said “well isn’t that why you called us? Because your home wasn’t cooling?” Yes, Einstein. However, you are supposed to tell me what’s wrong with the system and how much it will cost before doing the work. He literally just shot Freon in the system and claims he cleaned it out and charged $418. That’s like if I took my car to an auto shop and told them it’s malfunctioning and the shop performs a $10,000 job on the car without my permission, without telling me what was wrong to begin with, and without allowing me the opportunity to get other quotes or choose another company. The only thing the manager offered was “he should have communicated better, I’m sorry that happened”. These people are obviously scammers, they’re desperate for money, and they have awful customer service. Go with a more reputable company and steer clear of this sorry excuse for a company.
This is a great group to work with! I had other estimates that would have added a mini split system to resolve the problem with upstairs and MBR not cooling well. This company said I just needed to have the duct work updated because the HVAC system I have is adequate but it wasn’t efficiently ducted. It works great now and saved us $. The crew explained everything clearly, cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. They even took me in the attic and showed me the work performed and how it resolved the issue. Fantastic job!
After reading the reviews I decided to call this place. First time I called Robert said to call back in about a month. I said okay no problem. A month later I call back and they said Robert should get with me shortly. Still haven't heard anything else from them. So I'd say if you're in need of immediate attention, don't call these guys.
RKL Heating and Cooling is a rare find. I called them randomly off of a Google search. They showed up within 24 hours to give me a quote and stuck to it. The equipment was installed quick and with what appeared to be much attention to detail. HERE IS THE BEST PART. I left my place unlocked for them to install the vent covers while I was away. I had left something very valuable laying out on accident. The workers saw the item lying on the ground and placed it in an area I would see it when I returned 2 days later. No one was home and they could have easily taken it. It is such a rare thing these days to find honest, competent people! Having peace of mind when you hire someone is priceless.(but their prices are great)

They are efficient in servicing you and they identify the issue quickly so they can get you back up and working in no time. We have had to call them twice-once at 7 on a weeknight and another on a Sunday morning. They were at our house within 15 minutes and were so kind in helping us. I highly recommend using them! You will be grateful you did!
I will not use anyone else after the experience I just had with RKL Heating and Cooling Inc. Very responsive to my calls and within 1 day of calling them, my new unit is now installed. I couldn't be more pleased with their service. It was second to none. Technicians were polite and knowledgeable on any questions I had.
