Intelligent Design got me in on a same day basis. They worked late into the night, to assure my AC was working again.

This was a rare repair because most people don't have motor actuated dampers on their HVAC systems. Our system has one duct on the roof going from the central HVAC to the main part of the house downstairs and another duct going to a bedroom above the garage. So there is a motor controlled damper for each route the air can travel. The damper motors will open or close the respective dampers depending on which part of the house is calling for HVAC. The damper motors are 20 years old or older and one of them quit working. So the technician made his first visit, to investigate and diagnose but when he found the problem he couldn't locate an exact replacement for the damper motor from any of five suppliers they do business with. He made a note about that on my emailed receipt and also said he'd keep looking. In the meantime, I searched for a replacement and couldn't find the Trol A Temp brand but did find a Honeywell brand which (from remarks made by people who'd bought them) were "plug and play" replacements for the Trol A Temp. So I bought a couple. One to replace the one that had quit and another in case it was needed to replace the other one. After I had the replacement damper motors, Intelligent Design called and arranged to send out a couple of managers to look at the setup and figure out a way to replace existing square dampers and their motors with the only currently available dampers which are circular. But when I showed them the motors I'd found and purchased, they both agreed that nothing more would need to bo done other than replace the motor. So the technician came out again a few days later, replaced it in about an hour and now it's 100% functional again.

I should note that the managers were puzzled as to why I'd been able to get the motor from the particular supplier which had told them they didn't have any. They'd been looking for a replacement for Trol A Temp plus housing, which housing is no longer available. What I'd sought and found was only the motor, sans housing. Live and learn.

We were so blessed by Kyle's visit today! He showed up and tested for a good 2 hours before giving us a great set of options in case we can replicate the issue we experienced this morning!

James was wonderful. I had the privilege of having service done by Jake and Trey in the past, and James was just as great as they were. My AC had stopped working suddenly and my house was up to 90 degrees at the point James arrived, and he had my AC diagnosed and fixed in 5 minutes.
