We purchased a new hvac system years ago when they were still small locally owned business. They talked us into a heat pump. Just about a year later it broke down, still under warranty. They came and replaced the broken part but we were charged $600 for labor! About a year later it broke again, not under warranty this time so to fix it would cost a lot. We ended up spending even more money to have the heat pump removed and just an a/c unit installed with our furnace. We stay up on yearly maintenance, have had our ducts cleaned, everything we could to make it last and work as long as possible. At one time they mentioned there was possibly a lawsuit against Carrier, the furnace brand they sold us, and would put us on the list for the suit. Never heard another word about it. Since removing the heat pump and only having the furnace and a/c unit we have had no problems with the a/c but the furnace has problems constantly. We have had to have the heat exchanger replaced 2 or 3 times. Almost every winter it stops working. I had Cougar come out 3 weeks ago because the furnace was blowing very hard and loud and sounded like water inside the furnace. They called and said the technician could come 2 days early, great! He arrived at our home around 4:30pm, we asked if he is here after 5pm are we being charged OT. He said if he was not done by then yes, we refused because we had a morning appointment scheduled that would not make us be charged OT. He agreed and proceeded to service the unit. All he did was vacuum off the “squirrel cage” and that’s about it. Told my husband it was basically a lemon and we will have to replace it before long. Now the pilot light is out and won’t come back on after resetting the unit according to the manufacturer’s instructions manual. I would not recommend Cougar at this time!

We had Cougar install a mini split in our nursery last year and were so happy with how friendly and thorough the technicians were. When we needed a new furnace several months later we called again. Their prices were so great that we got a furnace and AC at the same time. Although we have had to call them out for a couple service calls they are always courteous and get the job done.

Ethan was so good and kind. He was very good and took time to service my furnace, AC and water heater. He explained what he was doing and showed me things to look for. I really appreciate his honesty and kindness. I hope next time I call he'll be my service person. Thank you.

Ethan sent me a text informing me he was 30 min from arrival time to confirm our appt. He was very thorough, explained what they look at and how they test to see how well certain parts are functioning, which when you have an older system like I, you need to know these things to make informed decisions.

The service technician, Jesse, was on time, polite, explained everything to me along the way and was very professional the whole time. I was very impressed with his customer service skills, and his knowledge in the area of HVAC.
I also appreciated the office staff answering the phone and getting me an appointment quickly. I’ve left lots of messages at other companies and never even received a call back.
We’ve been customers of Cougar Mechanical for at least 15 years and will continue to be for years to come.

Technician was great, administration needs work. Was cancelled on two times then received a text saying we would have to wait until fall for someone to come out and do a HVAC check on our system. Then out of nowhere we got a call from them saying they were about 15 min away and wanted to make sure someone was home to perform the maintenance. Luckily I was home and said sure. The tech was great, professional. Explained everything that was going on. Hopefully things get worked out there because we have been very happy with Cougar in the past.

Great sales team and the technicians were friendly and professional. My furnace died in the middle of a cold snap and they were able to install one the very next day. I haven't had any issues since and I'm grateful that Cougar Mechanical was able to respond and install a new furnace so quickly. I recommend them to everyone.

We recently needed to get a new furnace and air conditioner. Our son in law recommended Cougar Heating and Air Conditioning and specifically Roman Pankratov (Sr. Comfort Tech) as our initial contact. Roman reviewed our existing units and explained the various choices. We chose one that fit our retirement budget as well as making sense for our home. {Did I say that when he first arrived he slipped PINK covers on his shoes to keep our rugs clean?..and we also noted later that he had arrived in a tastefully painted pink vehicle). An install was set up for the next week. The next day we came up with a couple of questions that Roman answered over the phone.
Bright and early on THE day, Nick arrived with his Cougar crew, filled us in on what they were going to be doing and put down tarps to protect the rugs from foot traffic. All of the workers introduced themselves and were polite, professional and articulate in explanations as the project progressed. I learned later that we had specialists from three different areas: Air, Furnace, and Electrical. When all was completed, Nick stayed to explain how the thermostat worked and left us materials. He also programmed the temperatures to our request.
After several days, we realized that the thermostat needed some more adjusting and called Roman, our initial point of contact. He stopped out that same day, fixed the setting and explained the thermostat more and made us feel very comfortable with our new more efficient system. We were impressed that Roman also asked to see the furnace and air conditioner for a final inspection on the install.
We highly recommend Roman and Nick and the Cougar crew members. THANKS GUYS!
