Gundlach Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical

I called Gunlock for my gas furnace issue. Roy came out on December 7th and the first thing he did when he walked into the furnace area was hee -hawed about how challenging it would be to put in a new furnace! (Another company I had called did not mention it being a challenge.) I could see the $ signs going up with every grunt he made! Roy measured the furnace area and then proceeded to the outside A/C unit which would need replacement at the same time. He had his iPad out and tried to pull-up a picture of an outside unit but struggled and wasn't able to. He said he would write up an estimate and email it to me in a couple days. Today is December 20th, and since I still had not received and estimate from him, I called him. He said he has not done it yet and started to give me one excuse after another. Told me that no one has the equipment (the other company made no mention having equipment shortages) Roy said they haven't determined yet what the new price for the equipment will be or the gas line prices! So I told Roy I had heard enough. It seems to me that Roy dragged his feet and did not write up an estimate for 2022 because in 2023 the prices would be going up!! I called the company back to speak with the office manager about my concerns with Roy and the person answering the phone said the manager's name is Gary. I asked for his last name and but the person did not know!! I inquired, you do not know your manager's last name? He said, you don't have to get snippy with me!! I wasn't snippy I was surprised!
No thank you, I will not be using this company for anything!

Great experience! Ran into an issue after beginning a faucet repair in our older home. Called Gundlach and they were able to fit us in on standby the same day. Al came and quickly assessed the issue and was able to source the correct replacement part very quickly. He replaced the part and checked for leaks and then we were good to go, all within a few hours of the initial call. Al was very clear and knowledgeable and was helpful in explaining the issue. Will definitely call Gundlach with future plumbing needs!

Gundlach has become my go-to plumbing company. They've provided service to us twice, once an urgent call and another a problem that wasn't an emergency but needed to be fixed soon. On both occasions, Gundlach contacted us prior to the service call to provide an estimated time of arrival; the team members arrived on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up behind themselves. We appreciate Gundlach and will continue to contact them as needed!

Gundlach tech Junior promptly assessed the need for replacement & completed the install. He instructed me on how to operate the new one. I was impressed that tho the new thermostat seemed smaller there were no holes in the wall from the previous one & he connected something so that batteries would not be needed.

We have lived and live in an old house and condo. Over the years Gundlach has done a lot of work for us: HVAC maintenance and repair, cleanout installation, drain unclogs, faucet replacement and repairs, pipe leak repairs, hot water heater installation, toilet flange replacement, water shutoff valve replacement. Every experience has been positive. Every rep we interacted with, either on location or on the phone, has been friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our questions. And, perhaps most important, every plumbing-crisis-moment, Gundlach dispatched someone to the house in a reasonable amount of time, if not right away. A good company with good people.

I’ve been using Gunlach for years for all our heating, cooling and plumbing needs. Staff are always friendly, professional and knowledgeable especially the Technician Junior who worked on my 2 systems today. He was able to assess them, diagnosis where repair was needed, explain to me so I could understand and complete the repair quickly. Top notch service! Highly recommend!

Junior and Sean were fantastic. Fast, efficient, nice guys to be around. I had them out to move the main HVAC trunk link in our home to a new location. They knocked it out in about a half a day, and left everything as clean as when they found it. Price was right, their scheduling department was fast, and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working great. Definitely recommend.

Experienced a weekend plumbing emergency involving a damaged shower faucet that ultimately needed replacing. Two guys came out within a matter of hours on a Saturday afternoon and diagnosed the problem and offered an estimate immediately. It was late, so they offered to plug the shower, so we could turn water back on to the house, and return on Monday to fix the issue. At 8am on Monday morning I was able to speak with Joe to schedule a 2:30pm appointment for service. Cory arrived on time and ready to work. He was polite and professional. He got right to work and found a solution that caused the least amount of damage... not taking out a wall to access the pipes. Instead, he went "old school" fixing the issue with a great soldering job, resulting in lower cost and repair time. He was very courteous and respectful. I am very satisfied with Gundlach and will definitely call on them again next time I have an issue. My appreciation to the entire team!

My elderly in-laws had a heat pump go out this past weekend. We called around to attempt to get their AC back on during this recent hot spell in Richmond VA. Gundlach sent out a tech on a Sunday. Stated it would an after-hours service call. They provided no quote as to how much after hours would be.

Luckily I was available to meet with Willy their service tech prior to any work being agreed to. Willy diagnosed a bad capacitor, which can be a common problems and a relatively inexpensive fix. Normal rates and parts would be around $150. We have had it done to our own heat pumps in the past year.

Gundlach chose to take advantage of the situation with my elderly in-laws and attempt to quote me $625 for a service call and fix. They refused to offer a more reasonable rate.

I quickly dismissed Willy from the property and went and bought a window unit as a temporary fix. Found a reputable HVAC tech who installed it properly the next day. For the window AC unit and the new tech it was cheaper than Gundlach for after hours service call quote.

Definitely get a second opinion with Gundlach. They will attempt to take advantage of situation with unethical pricing.

Never calling them again!

We first met Jose when he installed our new AC unit last summer. We were so pleased with the work of the technicians, and the wonderful support of the scheduler, that we decided to call Gundlach again when we needed to replace our HVAC system. Jose and David make a great team! They arrived on time each day, worked their hearts out, and made sure to clean and remove any trash from the job site before heading out for the day. They were very friendly, explaining each step in the process, and did a fantastic job! My husband and I are very pleased, and highly recommend Gundlach!
