We have used American HVAC over the years. The owner Steve is a very kind and detailed person. If you are looking for an honest company This is the company for you. He tries to be as affordable as he can and still do a professional job!
He will give you a detailed bid and explain everything he will do to give you a top notch completed job. We had him do our house and plan on using him in the future for other properties!! Thanks Steve we appreciate you.

American HVAC installed two new furnaces and A/C units in our 20 year old home. I obtained prices from several contractors and beyond having competitive pricing, Steve was genuine and honest. Both systems were installed and we have been very happy. Steve and the technicians covered the floors and were careful to leave the work areas clean. Prior to commencing the work Steve reviewed exactly what I would receive and then he performed perfectly. I am extremely happy with our new HVAC systems and wholeheartedly recommend Steve and American HVAC.

Replacing your furnace and A/C is not a small price decision. We received quotes from numerous companies and American HVAC (Steve) was far better than the rest. Naturally my "price = quality" mindset kicked in so I started working on the research. A big part of our decision was impacted by the many positive reviews that Steve has. He and his crew did great work, went the extra mile, and for the first time in the years of living in our home we can keep it cool! (Which truly is saying a lot since our home is new and the old system was only 10 years old.) To be fair, we have only had our unit for a week and time will truly tell the tale, but based on my experience with Steve, his assurance gives me comfort that we will be good for years to come.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THE OWNER IS A LIAR AND CHEAT.
The only reason I give American HVAC a one star review is because there's no option to give a zero star. Almost exactly three years ago I contracted Steve to install a new system in a commercial building. They provided a competitive quote, and came recommended through an acquaintance. I decided to pull the trigger with them as they were available to start the install fairly quickly. This is where the good ends. When consulting with me on the installation, Steve assured me that we would have to upgrade the current system to handle the cooling of the space (which meant more $), so I agreed.

Steve and his team installed our system in August of 2013. Over the next month or so of summer, things worked fine. The coming spring of 2014, the AC just completely stopped working. After about only two months of use in the previous year, the system had already begun to have serious issues. I contacted Steve to have him come take a look. He had someone come out and found the coils in the AC unit to be completely frozen up. In communication with me he stated "This issue is UN-debatable Factual Operator Err" because we set the thermostat below 72 degrees, and that "modern air conditioners are not designed to go below 72 degrees." Despite the setting on the thermostat our space was never cooled below 78 degrees.

After Steve blaming us for the issues he demanded that I pay him a $95 service fee for the service call. He further said if I did not pay him the money, he would not prioritize our issues, warranty or not, over others that are willing to pay. I considered this still issues with the system install so I further refused to pay the fee. This set him off into an appalling chain of events. Steve wrote me two emails blaming me over and over again for the issues, demanding that I pay him. His worst behavior came when he decided to call me repeatedly one morning at 4 AM. When I didn't answer he left me a very threatening voice message, insulting my character, using profanity, and telling me to "f*** off."

At that point I decided to depart from any interaction with Steve and use another company. Since this time I have spent over $3,000 to fix and update pieces on my "new" HVAC system to get it to work properly. I finally broke down today to call him after being quoted another $1,000 to fix an ongoing issue that was testified over and over again by multiple other HVAC companies as an installation error. Steve told me I would have to pay for the service call up front, pay all time involved to fix the issue, pay up front for the parts that were under "warranty" and if the manufacturer actually did warranty the part, at that point I would only get my money back for the parts.

Do your research. Get multiple quotes. Don't make my mistake and use any contractor simply out of convenience.

We have used Steve 2 different times to convert homes we bought for rentals to have new furnaces and upgrade to A/C.
We have been very pleased with his bid, his timeline, his attitude, his craftsmanship.
Honestly no complaints. We will continue to use him for other projects.

We had American HVAC install a York 96% efficient two stage gas furnace and we could not be any happier. You cannot beat the price or the service. Scott and Brad installed our unit and were awesome! They showed up on time, were professional, friendly and fun. I was completely impressed how they protected my carpet from the front door all the way down my stairs, had an assembly area with tarps and cleaned everything up afterwards. They custom made ducting to accommodate 4" filters, how they accomplished that in such a tight spot is beyond me. They also took the time to explain the unit to me in detail. The furnace is so quiet I find myself wondering if it is working, but it is beautifully. We are looking forward to the savings we will see this winter. I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs a new furnace.

Just had our air conditioning and Furnace replaced by American HVAC. When our AC died on a Saturday afternoon, we called Steve and told him our dad story. He was so kind! He came out first thing Sunday morning (Sunday!!) to have a look. Then first thing Monday morning, he had one of his techs install a temporary fix until our order could arrive. Very fast, prompt, friendly service. We couldn't be more pleased!! And the prices cannot be beaten!!

Steve was very friendly to work with. He answered the phone and gave us an initial quote, then kept that price when he came to do the work a few days later. He was also very courteous and helpful in advising on the placement of vents when he got here, and even brought all his equipment in through the basement window so as to not trample through the house. It was a pleasure working with him!

Steve and his team came recommended by another in-home contractor. This investment home was riddled with challenges retrofitting it with a new furnace, AC and duct work. After kindly spending the time needed to exhaust all options - he architected the most reasonable solution...all on the first visit. He is a meticulous communicator and you know exactly what you are getting and the plan for work. He made himself available by phone, text and email. I had a positive experience and I had him come do a second job - we had 1 issue on the job and he immediately resolved it beyond my expectations. I value great service but I honor people who put their name on their work and ensure you get what you want. Steve is clearly a winner in his field and does exactly that.

Started out great, needed some repairs done to a unit American HVAC installed and the frustration began. Emailed Steve for blower noises when running at high speed. This is the second call after the first initial call when the unit was initially installed. The first time was remedied by his tech wedging in insulation tape between the blower and the housing of the blower to keep from rattling (thumbs up). Steve sent someone out to check out the issue and left me with a new problem, a control board malfunction. The control board was unable to relay signals properly due to a defect that occurred right after the technician had visited to check on the blower... hmm coincidence? The tech denied any wrong doing on their behalf, whatever, I still needed the now two separate issues fixed. Tech was very irritable after calling him to mention a large amount of metallic smell was entering my house because he was already home and had to drive back.

Long story short, I call to explain the situation to Steve on a Saturday at noon which was surprisingly met with professionalism. Assuming I'd be in contact with his tech after speaking with Steve, I waited to get further instructions from either of the two to know how I should adjust my work schedule for the following week. I call Steve again on Saturday around 4 PM (during business hours) to get a better understanding of what's to come, and this is where the magic happened. He became so frustrated and erratic within 60 seconds that he responded with "you need to chill out" and "stop calling me" and quickly hung up. After only an ephemeral moment of asking what I should expect the following week. Great customer service. Great control of character.

It gets better.

Monday rolls around and I hear from both of them, but with a caveat from his technician. He claims a new thermostat connection wire needs to be installed before any further work can be done. He mentions he can due the job for 150 dollars or I can have someone else do it. I decline because he's not a qualified electrician and will have a pro do it.

I have the request completed that same day and contacted the tech to let him know their request has been complied with. He responds back with "I will still charge 150 dollars for configuration". Yes 150 dollars, to connect one additional common wire to the nest thermostat that I was missing. This was their claim as to why the control board faulted... I decline and the frustration escalates to a new level.

After contacting his boss, Steve, to mention the unreasonable cost. He tried to coerce me with statements like "[tech name here] is your only hope, he's your best friend in this matter, if you can't figure it out with him you'll be waiting even longer for this to get resolved". Mind you, my fan is on constantly to have the furnace pump heat in a defective state otherwise it would fault again, it's winter, this was a temporary solution.

I decline his irrational and unprofessional statement and explain that I already complied with their request. Next step would be to complete the job they agreed to do by their own contract, 2 year parts and labor. Steve dropped the conversation mentioning I'm too demanding and testing his patience, his tech was no longer responding at that time too. Yes folks, too demanding in the sense of wanting my malfunctioning furnace to be fixed which he's obligated to do due to his own contract. While also testing his patience with a logical rebuttal to a unnecessary fee to a service that they weren't performing.

Wednesday comes, I contact the tech again to see if they were still planning on servicing the furnace. He stated he would, but on one condition; He would only work within the unit itself and no where else, I would have to handle the configuration on my own. I agree and the work is completed.

TLDR: Steve has a short fuse, hangs up on you as a customer, feels comfortable raising his voice at you. His techs will try to charge you randomly for work they did not perform. Nice.
I do not recommend American HVAC.
