I've been with American Home Shield almost half a year now.
Last Thursday, I turned on the garbage disposal when it suddenly sent a surge of black water up into the kitchen sink. At the same time, a big gush of blackish water drained into the cabinet under the sink. Things seem to happen in threes, because the flush valve of one of the toilets decided to not work and one of the bathroom sinks developed a leak. I reported the problems online to AHS. They sent out a plumber who arrived on time, was pleasant and competent and quickly fixed all the problems, replacing the garbage disposal and toilet flush valve. All of this was done at a very reasonable price. I was amazed how quickly and easily the whole process went.

Our two year old Samsung washer stopped working and the door wouldn't unlock. When we contacted Samsung we were routed to this company. The first "technician" who showed up said that the door lock was broken and needed to be replaced. The machine still didn't work. The second "technician" told us that the main circuit board needed to be replaced. The total cost for all of these "replacements" exceeded $700. Can you say bait and switch???? We wouldn't recommend this company to our worst enemy.

First off, the technician was competent and sensitive to the fact that we needed to utilize this oven for the Thanksgiving holiday.

My feedback is on American Home Shield as their charges for a simple oven thermostat were outrageous. For example, I researched the thermostat since the work was done and should have been no more than $25, while they charged $215 for this part. If I had time and it wasn't a holiday, I would have repaired the oven myself, but they clearly took advantage of this and thus, will NEVER use this company again for ANYTHING as what they did should be illegal. Stay away from companies like this.

I requested Hvac service with Home shield because I have two wall furnaces that have been out since December of 202. Home shield only uses a specific vendor by who goes by two different names "Mohin Inc and Elephant Heating and Air. This vendor is not reliable, the set appointments and never show up. Their main response is we are ordering parts and parts will be here in two days. When this vendor says those responses this is enough for Home shield to continue to force you to use them. It has been almost 3 months and my heaters are still not fixed. I was forced to cancel my service with Home shield because of these company. At one point I was given outside authorization to find my own vendor and once I did AHS reached out to Mohin to ask when are they come to do repairs and they said "in two days and they had already talk to me" which was a lie AHS canceled my outside authorization without telling me. I even requested to have a cash in lue because Mohin can not make time to come out to make these repairs this was never approved because it was enough for the vendor to continue to lie and say they have parts and they are coming. I had two accounts with AHS and has spent over 1k and have not gotten anything in return. You always have to talk to someone in escalation in order to get anything, I do not recommend AHS, especially if you are forced to work with an unreliable, lying vendor like Mohin. Again I have not had heat for almost 3 months and this is still not repaired.

In last few months have had to contact AHS for several issues with our home. The latest was not an issue but preventive in nature. They responded quickly, scheduled within days, and came out to inspect our heating systems to make sure we are ready for the winter. Very professional, wore shoe covers inside.

As a new homeowner, I was excited to be “worry free” with the AHS Platinum plan. Unfortunately, whenever I NEEDED AHS for anything, they dedicated themselves to wiggling out of assisting me. I spent over 1 year in my new home without hot water waiting for AHS to honor the coverage of my plan or get back to me with an update. In addition to this, service providers are limited and almost always the most expensive on the market if you ask other contractors for Bids. Do yourself a favor and stash the premium you would’ve paid to AHS in a savings where it can be useful.

Tried to get oven repaired. They gave me a date and time and said a technician would be there. I took off a half day of work to be home for the appointment. 90 minutes before the appointment, they told me they had no technician but I could book for another date and time. All this company does is call around for someone to do the job, the same thing we do when looking for someone. They book the job then try to find a technician. If they can't, they cancel, try to set another date (again, before they know if they have a technician or not), and if they cannot find a tech, they will again cancel and try again. If you don't care about being cancelled repeatedly, scheduling time off of work or other reasons to be home only to be cancelled upon, this company is for you; if you expect someone to honor a commitment and actually be able to provide the service they are telling you they do, then this company is not for you. Cut out the worthless middleman and just arrange for the tech yourself.

May Heating & Air came out to make sure I was set for the winter with my heat. He was very professional & prompt. I would recommend them to anyone. Setting the appointment up through ProConnect was seamless. Very satisfied & will use again.

A technician came to my home for dryer cleaning services. He cut the aluminum tube extending from the dryer to the wall. I am now experiencing an issue with my dryer and asked to have someone come out to extend the aluminum tube and they refuse stating its beyond the 30 day warranty. I didn't ask the tech to cut it short. It's not through any fault of my own this happened, nor is it simple wear and tear. This was the technicians fault and this company could, at the very least, send him back out to replace it. Frustrating!
