EF Martin ended up making five trips to our home when it should've been two max. Wouldn't be a huge deal except we had to arrange for someone to be there to let them in each time and we were left overnight with a non-functioning unit several times.
There was a series of errors, bad attitudes, poor communication and just a lack of experience or thoughtfulness toward the repair of the thermostat (the original reason they were called out) and the eventual replacement of the entire unit.
Never in my life have I called to talk with a manager until this experience. I understand issues come up and that not everything can be planned for, but there were too many issues for this to be a one-off experience.
I was told that a manager would call me back as soon as she got off the phone and it took more than 24 hours and she only called because she was checking on an invoice. I was then told the owner would call me the next day and it's been three business days (5 including the weekend) without hearing anything.
I really wanted to like EF Martin because they had been so highly recommended, but I absolutely cannot after this experience.
I hate to leave such a poor review, however nothing has been done to remedy our experience and I want to offer a heads up to others.
This was my first time using this company and they came from a recommendation from a friend. Glad I made the decision to use them They were Professional & very Knowledgeable as to what I needed to do. Great Job !
Awesome service experience. EF Martin has always been over the top in keeping my system in good working order, but today service tech Peter came to preform a check up and cleaning. He cleaned well beyond what I have ever seen done during an annual check up or any check up. With this kind of service, I know my system will continue to provide great service for years to come. Thank you Peter and EF Martin.
Called Friday for a check up on my system and to fix a previous contractors work on the cooling side. I previously used them during the winter to fix installer issue. Peter came out today and fixed the issue quickly. What a great tech. Didn't try to upsell me unecessary work and answered my slew of questions. Very happy with my service will use them in the future.
They came out and we payed $99 for a quote. Unfortunately my husband was on the phone when they came, but he did his best to show them our concerns. In following up with them we never received a quote and called 4 times for follow through with no response. We finally went with another company who got the job done. They could have at least told us if they couldn't do it.
This company went above and beyond. My heater went out and I had called 2 other contractors for estimates. Both told me my heater was completely done. E.F. Martin came out last and brought me some space heaters without me ever asking. Jeremy went under the house and within minutes he had my furnace working perfectly. There was no sales pitch and he was finished in less than an hour. In our conversation with Jeremy, I could see his integrity and dedication to this company. It is very rare to find such honesty and integrity. I will not look any further for a reputable company to do all of my HVAC work. Thank you for being top notch!!!!!
I wandered in the HVAC desert like Moses for 40 years. I've had or tried at least 6 different contractors from very small operations to the largest one(s) in the Midlands. They are all inconsistent, and some are borderline crooks. My sister had used EF Martin and her daughter as well. I thought EF Martin was only for large commercial jobs, but turns out they do residential as well. Chris is apparently their Operations manager and what a great guy. VERY knowledgeable and knows his products and "the other guy's" products as well. I got a brand new unit for my main level and I LOVE, love love it! Temp is great and humidity is also perfect. Great folks, can't beat them -- highly recommended!
Update Feb 2022: Just had my semi-annual service call. Jeremy was my technician, was professional and very pleasant, and quite a character. EF Martin is still the best, I recommend them to everyone I know! You can't go wrong with these folks!
Every part of the process was great. Mary was super helpful and got everything scheduled right away. Reggie came out and asked a bunch of helpful questions and got me a quote on the spot. Don't know the names of the installers but they were very polite and helpful too. Got everything done through their financing and they told me about dominion rebates I qualified for that they'd submit all the paperwork for. Had some issues getting quotes and work out of another company. EF Martin came to the rescue though đź‘Ť
Jeremy was the tech for my 6 month maintenance after EF Martin installed my new HVAC system. He didn’t want to make it good. He wanted to make it perfect. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and quick. Every person that I have had contact with at EF Martin makes you feel like family. EF Martin has a customer for life! I wish I had called them a lot sooner.
I have always been pleased with EF Martin's Service. The tech Jeremy came and did a thorough job. I was very pleased with his manner and explaining everything that he was doing. I will definitely ask for him each time when we need service on our units.
