Columbia heating and cooling was very thorough and professional from the quote process to completion of the job. It was a pretty comprehensive job and the work was done quickly and the quality is top-notch!

I needed speed on the fan to be lowered from high to low on my gas furnace. It is literally a 3 minute job if you know which wires to reconnect. Usually companies charge about $90 just to come out so I though I would call these guys since their office is just 500 yards from our house. I called them and said why don't one of your techs stop by on the way back from one of their jobs and do that and cut me a neighbor deal for $45. They said no. I tried hard but to no avail. Greed and short-sightedness is why many small businesses like this struggle or go bankrupt. My furnace is up for exchange in the next year or two - it is 30 years old. Had they agreed I would most surely gone to them since they are very close to my house.... Lost business:)

My condenser stopped working during the last hot spell. Contacted Columbia heating to come and diagnose the problem. The first date was a week out (which was actually quicker than many other hvac contractors). The tech arrived in at around 11 for a 10-12 appointment. He diagnosed the problem, after some testing, which was a bad fan motor not allowing the fan to turn thus causing the unit to overheat and trip the high pressure switch. All that part was fine. Got the bill for the service call and was told that the office would contact me with a quote and setup a time to do the repairs. I was also told that Lennox now has a distribution center in Tigard (so I figured the turnaround on a quote would be quick when the service call was done at around noon). It has been three and a half business days and I have not received any communication (email or phone call). If it had not been for the fact that I had another hvac company pick up the motor and install it, I would still be without ac during this hot spell. Their office needs to be a little quicker about response time. Will not call them again for work on our hvac equipment.

Called this Columbia during this horrible heat wave were having and they sent a very professional and knowledgeable man within a week to fix my AC unit. Took him litterly 30 min to diagnose and fix the ac unit. Recommend this company and very thankful for the professional and caring service Columbia provided.

I am sure these guys mean well? but we got a call from Colombia to say our repair would be at least $1200 for the mother board kit, and more then likely the $500 for the module too, We went for a second opinion with another company and just paid $580 for the visit, module and installation, we are nice and warm again. Nice to have saved $1200 by waiting a few more days and getting a second opinion.

Jim was friendly, knowledgeable and kindly shared information about my furnace, air conditioner and gas fireplace that has made me more comfortable about the equipment his company installed 5 years ago. I highly recommend Columbia Heating & Cooling.

The gentlemen just left my house after putting in a brand new furnace and I couldn’t be happier. They were very professional and knowledgeable. The two gentlemen that did the work were very polite and all around nice guys. From now on my family and friends will only use them for hearing and cooling needs.

Our A/C unit wouldn't turn on. Our management company contacted Columbia to come out and fix it. Jim arrived on time and was very pleasant and friendly. He got right to work, diagnosed the problem and had it fixed right away. I would definitely recommend this company for service. Thanks, Jim!

Adam (the owner) is the worst customer service person on the planet! After his worker BUTCHERED our ceiling around labor day, Adam came out assuring me that I would get a call from a contractor the next day to repair the damage, I never heard from anyone, and actually was the last time I heard from Columbia Heating and Cooling. I called and left SEVERAL messages both with his office assistant and on his personal cell phone. It wasn't until I was sent a bill and threatened non payment for the hack job and went as far as mentioning small claims court did I get a phone number for someone who will come fix it.

Just an fyi, all I needed after I was PROMISED a next day phone call a month ago would have been a SIMPLE customer service phone call back 'hey sorry they are real backed up'. I would have understood, if it got crazy like let's just say a month after being promised, then I may want the name of someone else. Instead of calling today having to yell and fight my way to get some very BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE to end up with a different contractor since the 1st apparently is still too backed up to take a phone call ever over the last month! Absolutely no communication! Horrid way to run a business his dad should come back out of retirement! If this is the way customers are treated his legacy won't be around much longer!

UPDATE:

Adam, yes he was given permission to put ONE pin prick hole in my ceiling, not butcher it with FIVE huge holes with his screw driver! He went after our ceiling without regard for my property in any capacity. Also, funny how you can respond on here and send me multiple invoices but not take time to return a SIMPLE phone call. Your words are empty and complete lip service to attempt to save face to anyone on Google.

Also as far as the maintenance on the furnace, really that is not your concern. I didn't blame your company for the leak (even though you should have looked at it when you installed my $5000+ ac unit 18mths ago in my opinion) also we followed your service reccomondation for the filter 1x per year. The filter was about to be changed for the fall as the heat gets turned back on. I am upset because I was PROMISED certain things and your company absolutely failed to provide any kind of customer service outside of billing me! Also as far as the contractor being backed up, is complete bs since I called your company SEVERAL times asking for the name and number of anyone that could help, if that contractor was backed up give me someone else, your poor excuse for an office assistant refused to help me with any info. I would have been more than happy to just get a name and number and follow up with them leaving you guys completely off the hook. Ultimately that's what happened anyway after I threatned non payment and court, my time is very valuable, I do not appreciate it bring wasted. After I finally got some information I called the patch man. He called back in 2 hrs and was out 3 days later! Why did it have to take a month for that to happen? The hours I spent trying to get this fixed was ridiculous! Why couldn't I have that information from the start. You would still have a customer and no nasty review on Google that's for sure! Thanks for the lip service though! Hopefully others will be able to see through it just like me!
