RK Plumbing and HVAC

Water heaters never die when it is convenient. I called Rick at 8:30 am and he had my new heater installed by 5 pm. Great service. I will call on him again.

My reasoning for giving a 2 star rating. Recently the heating side of our HVAC system stopped working overnight. I looked up and found RK to be a local company and called on a Friday morning. RK was prompt to answer call and even tried to diagnose problem briefly on the phone. RK was quick to respond to our home. (This is reason for the first star). Rick was very professional and quick to get to work on HVAC system. Rick was quick to diagnose problem he thought was causing issue and replaced the part. (This is reason for second star). But after finishing work and receiving payment I didn't know until the next night the problem was not fixed due to not needing heat throughout the day. Through the night same problem resurfaced and I contacted Rick again since problem was not fixed the first time. Rick was not very happy with me asking him to come back out without charge to recheck HVAC system since his work was not completed. Again Rick was quick to find what he thought was problem then left. An hour later HVAC system would not cycle heat on again. We decided then to contact a different local company, they came out found that the problem in the beginning was a minor issue causing the system to error out that never needed parts replaced. Now we have a working HVAC system.

Reason for removal of stars. One for the experience and attitude from Rick after second call out. Second for misdiagnosis of underlying issue. Third for almost double the cost to have RK to come out and diagnose HVAC system compared to competitors. Especially due to RK responding during business hours and competitors coming out after hours. Also, the upcharging of replacing non problematic parts.

For a "Christian Owned & Operated Business" I was not impressed. Seemed like they were giving me the run around over the phone with the product (Rinnai Tankless Heaters) I was wanting to get an estimate for an install. They are actually listed with the manufacturer as an authorized installer but you could have fooled me by the conversation. Then complained that it would be an all day install and then he referred me to use a different company. Will not be calling RK Plumbing again and will send an email to the manufacturer.

Absolutely fantastic job! I needed a water softener and called them out to provide. He explained exactly the cost over the phone. When he arrived he had the contract written out and ready for me to sign with the same price. He informed me exactly how my new softener functions and what my warranty. Fully satisfied customer!

MY BAD, WRONG RK PLUMBING, THIS POST GOES TO THE RK PLUMBING IN TUCSON AZ!!!!!! SORRY SPRINGBORO, OH. COMPANY!!! This company is a contractor used by my home warranty company. My tenant is an 86 year old lady who had a clogged show head. Instead of taking the time to clean the shower head, they refused, saying maintenance is not covered. GREAT company!!!! Total class act leaving an 86 year old lady in the same condition instead of taking five minutes to clean the shower head. Can't wait to use this GREAT company again!!

It really is great to have someone you can count on for ANY job.
I have literally had Rick fix multiple plumbing issues, replace water heater, replace sump pump, heating furnace work in the middle of winter, electrical work, you name it. Some were emergencies. He does it all.
Unlike the big companies, when you call, you go directly to the phone at his side. He always answers or calls me right back within minutes. You have an emergency at 3AM? Call and he will answer. I know from experience.
He’s straightforward about price. Obviously sometimes he needs to stop by and assess the situation before providing a quote. Sometimes if a cheap solution is possible, he suggests it.
It’s a one stop shop so he handles all the ordering if you need parts or new equipment. And he takes out the old stuff you don’t need or want anymore.
He also has contacts and he once called a manufacturer for me to see if a furnace part was still covered by warranty.
Have some other side jobs you've been putting off and need him to do while he’s there? Just ask!
The other thing is that I’m really nosy and right up behind him the whole time he’s working, asking a million questions. To save a little money, he’s even given me directions and tips on little projects around the house.
Would and have recommended him to anyone that needs any work. Nobody wants to deal with HVAC, plumbing, sump, electrical, or other issues but when you have them, some peace of mind that it’ll get fixed right away and that you won’t get taken advantage of is very welcome.... but hopefully I won’t need you anytime soon, Rick!

Rick is great. Very knowledgeable, fast, on time service, I definitely found my go to guy for any plumbing, hvac, or electrical issues. Will definitely use him again.

Called late on a Friday evening due to a water softener issue. Although not in the office at the time I called, he was prompted in calling me back to see if it was an emergency and what the need was.
He showed up when he said he would and Installed a new water softener for us! Super Personable, completely honest in what would be best. You won’t be disappointed with service from RK PLUMBING!

We had an odd whistling noise coming from the main water line one night that suddenly got louder by the hour. I knew it needed to be addressed quickly, so I looked up plumbing businesses on the BBB website and found this company as the closest to me. I called at around 10pm with intentions of simply leaving a message. Rick Konop actually answered the phone and I described what was happening. He told me right away it sounded like there was a broken pipe under the slab. He asked if he could call the next day to set up a time to stop by.

Sure enough, he called shortly after 8am the following day! He said he could be there between 2-4pm that day, and was there around 2:30pm. He diagnosed the problem and explained everything thoroughly. His original consensus was correct and he came the following day to fix the issue.

He was right on time and did everything in exactly the time frame as predicted. Luckily for us, the leaky pipe was an unused pipe leading to what would be a humidifier for the HVAC! I had him cut out that line and cap it off, install new shutoffs and check valve since it made sense at that point, and I had him extend a line directly outside for another water spigot for the side of the house. The job was done correctly and he was right on task! I definitely recommend his service. He was able to do it quickly, but I understand that sometimes business gets backed up, so we got lucky on that. That fact that he knew exactly what to do and performed the repair professionally is the biggest thing.

I called in to schedule and appointment to have our furnace looked at and inspected for poor performance. They spent 35 minutes with me, had me send photos of my system, and review settings. Turns out my thermostat settings were off and they were able to get me back to where I needed without a service call. I'll be having them come out in the spring for an evaluation and work. Customer service was exceptional!
