RK Plumbing and HVAC

This is Ellen's husband Jim. Called Rick on a Sunday. Water tank was leaking. He said fee to JUST install new water tank was $595.00. I told him that seemed really high. Rick said that was the going rate. That everyone's rates have gone up. Our water tank was still under warranty. So Rick charged us $69.00 service fee / $595.00 just to install new water tank / $249.00 for a new pressure tank and install. Which pressure tank was bad. Rick said pressure tank cost $110.00. So Rick's labor : $69.00 + $595.00 + $139.00 = $803.00. Rick was at our house for 2.5 hour, he left to switch trucks twice. Give him another hour. So $803.00 divided by 3.5 hours is $229.00 an hour Rick charged us. Will not be calling Rick again. Rick if your charging 1.5 hours for tank exchange that means you charged me 183.90 dollars just to drive around and switch the tanks. WOW. Also, you never installed a new drip pan. Still have the same bent up one with the salt and water stains in the bottom. Nice try.

Great experience working with this company. Have had to have Rick come out several times including weekends to fix plumbing and HVAC issues. Always straight forward on pricing and sticks to the quote even if the actual work ends up being more than the quote. Very easy to schedule and work with and would highly recommend to anyone in their service area

Excellent service. Called in the evening about a leak near our water heater, left a message, received a call back about 20 minutes later and Rick diagnosed the problem over the phone with the help of a picture that I texted him. He walked me through the steps to shut off the appropriate valve and showed up first thing in the morning to replace the faulty water pressure regulator. Friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time answer all my questions.

Rick went above and beyond to fix our water softener. We had a washer issue and he discovered there was resin in the screen - we needed a new water softener. He arrived 5 mins early and finished 5 mins early. He also sent the invoice to the appliance company to help us resolve a prior situation with that company. Friendly, knowledgeable, honest.

I am so incredibly happy with RK plumbing. Our water heater went out last night, just when we needed to bathe three young children, and we were scrambling to get it repaired. I had tried to reset it and relight it myself, but it wasn’t working. While other companies were trying to charge upward of $150 just to drive out to the house, RK took 5 minutes to ask me a few questions about the reset and walk me through it. We now have hot water! I am eternally grateful.

Rick was extremely helpful in taking care of our sump pump issue. The first time when I was stationed in DC he came put at 10pm and took care of the broken pump and replaced the damaged water heater for my spouse. The second time was 7 months later when the pump burned out due to a clogged discharge line free of charge by replacing the pump. The next day the basement had flooded and the new pump had burned out due to a second clog. He came out and addressed the issue. Rick was very accommodating and helpful. We will use him and RK again.

Rick was extremely helpful fixing our sump pump. He made sure we knew exactly what the issue was and how to best correct it. Very nice and we purchased his service plan to ensure he could assist us again in the future.

Rick is a true professional and owner of the business. I like to support local businesses, especially the ones with fair pricing and great customer service... a rarity these days!

RK Plumbing is excellent. Rick is profesional and knowlegable. He was able to quickly diagnose and repair a supply line issue with my kitchen faucet that another company was not able to dignose and repair.
