I’ve been using Yellow DOT for a few years and they were initially good (responsiveness to phone call, able to put in a new air scrubber for a fair price, fixed damper, fixed my electrical board) but after the last PM, I decided to go with someone else. First off, they have issues with their scheduling system because they forgot to schedule this PM and then they scheduled it for the wrong day. The service technician was able to tell I had leak in my unit and in order to do the diagnosis and pinpoint the location of the leak, I was charged nearly $600. I would also need to pay another $2000 for the actual part replacement but I decided to get a second opinion from another company. The other company came out and found the leak and they repaired it without replacing the part- all this work for only $100. Of course, Yellow Dot told me the $600 would be waived if I purchased a new HVAC unit but that was not needed. Also, to demonstrate that the $600 was outrageous, another company offered to do the diagnosis for only $300 but luckily I found the other company before I dumped another $300 into this issue (part replacement was same price).

Overall, I think Yellow Dot has friendly, competent technicians and they’re responsive when you call them. If you are on a PM plan, just be sure to call to confirm dates/times and make sure you get the 2 PMs each year. Also, be cognizant of pricing.

DAVID RAY AND ANOTHER GUY INSTALLED MY NEW WATER HEATER. THEY DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE INSTALLATION. HE ADVISED IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT A HR TO GET HOT WATER. THAT WILL BE THE REAL TEST. THANKS GUYS

Josué Bolanos installed our tankless water heater last year and we had him come back this year to flush for normal maintenance. Both times he was on time and clearly communicated what was going to happen, time estimates, etc and talked me through the options prior to deciding to install the tankless. Great customer service!
