I am very frustrated with my latest experience with Point Bay. I have been ordering oil from them for the past year so I called them when I experienced issues with my furnace.

The service tech arrived, went to the furnace in my crawl space and then refused to do any work because "there was insulation hanging." So after 10 minutes and doing absolutely no work, he leaves without giving me any indication of what needs to be done. He was very rude in the process as well.

He just said "it's a two man job." I know it needs to be cleaned but I still have no idea if there is anything broken in the furnace.

Now I am out $170 because they take your card over the phone. I feel completely ripped off as they just showed up and left within 10mins.

I'll be ordering oil from another company for now on.

A customer of Point bay for over 40 years. There are many companies that offer Oil and service. However, there is only one service technician like Tom Szymanski. Tom has been servicing the 2 oil furnaces in our home for many years. His service expertise has kept our units running efficient and safe. We always request Tom for our yearly maintenance and will wait until he's available. Having 4 children in our home, Tom gives us the security that our units are maintained and most important, safe. Tom is the main reason we continue being a customer of Point Bay.

I highly recommend Point BAY Fuel and Service to everyone as they are a great company and provided exceptional service and response to me. I found the Service Technician Tom very helpful and he explained everything so I could easily understand what was going on and how to address the problems. Every time I have had to call the company the customer service I received was outstanding and everyone is pleasant and easy to speak to. They all provide great service.

Really good company . Polite employees and staff. Very helpful and very good customer support.
I've had to call for service in the middle of the night and got work preformed to fix my issues. Service guy Tom extremely knowledgeable and rescouseful.
Priced the same or close to other companies in my area.
    I would recommend them highly.

I called around to a few local guys, but no one knew how to work on an oil furnace. Fran from Point Bay came out the same day I called and got my furnace working again on a cold February day. Both Fran and his partner were professional and neat. They took apart my sooty furnace and got it back in working order; and left the area cleaner than they found it! 5 stars, A+, solid 7/7.

HVAC technician Fran from Point Bay responded to our house on time and had our furnace blowing cool air quickly. As usual, the Point Bay staff treated us with courtesy and professionalism. Great job!

Point Bay Fuel Company is fantastic in terms of service. I have had them as my oil provider for more than 30 years. They were my godsend when my heat suddenly went off on January 21, 2019-- which was the coldest day of the year at that point. They responded in less than an hour after I called them. The problem turned out to be a bad thermostat--which was replaced at a cost of $35 to me because have their Gold Plan for service-- and also covers an annual cleaning and most repairs and parts. This is a great company to have as your oil service provider.

Back in 2010, we had a 250-gallon outdoor oil tank that Point Bay filled and serviced every year. Fran at PB Fuel kept our tank full (even in 2-foot snow drifts) we never ran short and our home was always warm and toasty. PPB offered us Oil tank insurance that would cover all costs should there ever be an issue or spillage with the tank. Best piece of mind ever.

Two years after that, we added a gas line and intended to switch over the following Spring. Then Sandy hit. Luckily, PPB had always topped our tank off every early October. This was fortunate as our house was able to dry out completely (no mold) and then contractors were able to work through the winter replacing the entire first floor. In the Spring, PB Fuel helped arrange to get our now empty oil tank safely removed and promptly replaced our heating unit. We have continued our yearly contract with PB Fuel as and it’s easy to schedule an appointment to have our units service or repaired and we trust them completely. When we had a pilot-light go out over a weekend, they were there ASAP. PB Fuel’s emergency service is stellar, their customer service is Steller and their cooling/heating professionals, like Fran, are polite, courteous, helpful, caring and know everything needed to keep our heating system running like clockwork. After a 12-year long relationship with PB Fuel ,we cannot say enough wonderful things everyone who works there and their consistently great service in keeping our house warm and toasty.

As a 1st Time Home Owner Francis thoroughly explained our heating system as well as did some maintenance work on the unit. As a result of the company's professionalism and knowledgeable staff, we signed a service agreement knowing we'll be in good hands. Thank You

Used these guys for years without issue. Technicians were always helpful. My boiler went and we decided to convert to natural gas which the town ran down our street last year. We thought we'd use Point Bay for the conversion since we've never had to do this before and had no idea how to proceed. The salesperson told me to call the company that removes our oil tank right away to get on their schedule. Signed the conversion paperwok and called the other company in August. The other company removed the tank in October. Mid-November is the scheduled date of conversion...3 months later (and I wasn't told this until after I called because our tank was removed)! Point Bay had to put in an oil barrel to get us heat. That was an extra charge of hundreds of dollars. Now they are filling the oil tank 3 days before the conversion. Not half a barrel to last the 3 or 4 days we need to get through, but a full oil delivery. Guess they want to get whatever last few bucks they can from me since there is no way we will call them again for anything. I found two other local contractors since signing with Point Bay who would have finished the conversion in two months or less for slightly less money. The cost of my being loyal: hundreds of additional dollars and extra time wasted. The price of their business practices: this review on Google, Yelp, and every other rating site I can find. Do yourself a favor and find a HVAC/fuel business that wants loyal, happy customers and not just their money.

UPDATE: Point Bay did give us a refund on the temporary tank install. This happened after I left the original bad review, but they did say that it is their "standard practice" to refund this when the temporary tank is returned. It was the first I had heard of this "standard practice" (despite at least 3 phone calls and a text conversation with the salesperson and the office staff) but they did try to make it right. The install was fine...took a day longer than the original 2-day quote, but it was a big job. Service techs were helpful and professional. All-in-all it was a good job by the people who did the work and a major stress headache about everything else.
