Some people tell me that i’m a bit over the top at times and perhaps l am, all my life l have always done research before making a purchase, l will go to Consumer Reports Magazine before even buying a new toaster or coffee maker, my primary reasons for doing it is not to save money but l always want the best QUALITY & VALUE for the money lm spending. I did a lot of internet research as well as talk to other heating and ac contractors to become as knowledgeable as possible and was most impressed with Matheny Heating and Cooling, also a good friend of our got there new furnace and ac form them and has been very happy. They are still family owned and have been in business a long time. Robin is always there to answer any questions you might have and that’s worth a lot. The installers were neat, clean and did a great job, l could tell they enjoyed there work. The world could certainly use more company’s like Matheny Heating. &Cooling. Many Thanks. MT

The team was on time and fully prepared. Mike and Eric were very efficient and went above and beyond when they saw that our ductwork had previously been installed wrong. They replaced and repaired the ductwork and answered all of our questions. Mike and Eric even tethered our air conditioner to the brick wall. Mike and Eric also, cleaned up everything completely when they were finished. Another plus which was a very pleasant surprise was the loan of a portable air conditioner before and during installation! Jason also was very helpful throughout the process. We couldn’t be happier with our new system. Thank you!

The initial meetings were on time, as-scheduled, and professional. Day-of service the crew arrived earlier than expected which is not within our condo service rules. This was explained but the team was installing for a board member on the same date so there was a bending of the rules. Although I initiated the request before the other resident, on the day of service, the other resident asked that the team install her unit first. Jason, the project manager, explained that was the plan, if that was okay with me. I thought it was unprofessional but agreed. Because the team was installing the other unit first, the install for my unit took longer than expected. I needed to leave foe other commitments but needed to stay to accommodate Matheny.This was disappointing but Jason was. It on the job site and didn’t return throughout the day. When the technician came die signature, the work per our contract was not completed. The team would come back to finish. Really poor planning and no communication from Jason. Jason called within an hour of the team’s plan to return to finalize the work on a separate date. I was not home. Fortunately a different neighbor was able to help me. Matheny did not coordinate this work with me. The technician indicated that the team had coordinated with the other resident. The did not coordinate with me. Really poor project management. I emailed Jason explaining my disappointment. He called back, offering a courtesy service. I asked for the final costs which were NOT given day-of-service. I was happy to know that it wasn’t more than I could afford or agree to pay. I asked for the costs of seismic drawings and crane cost to verify that the company split costs between me and the other resident. Jason did not return my correspondence. Robin emailed with the information. With the poor planning, the incomplete work, the willingness to install the other residents unit first, and the unplanned return to finish service, I do not feel confident that the costs were shared between the other tenant and myself. Jason does not give me a vibe of honesty. I do not prefer to work with him again.

I have used Jason and his team at Matheny twice over the past year at different properties. They are responsible, provide multiple options and are timely in their response. I would recommend them to anybody who needs HVAC work.

We have been waiting for over one month for installation of new unit. Excuse after excuse. Now. Once again. They say they will come on Monday or Wednesday next week but the price will be $2,000 more than their original bid. (They have been saying they will install next week for 5 weeks now.)
Lies, terrible customer service! Canceling and going with the company with the higher original bid as now bids are equal.
