Crome Mechanical Heating & Cooling

I posted a private review / complaint, first directly to Crome. That was almost a month ago and I never heard a peep out of them.
Now I am posting publicly to see what they have to say.
I have used Crome several times in the past for my service need without an issue.
This time I contacted them for my central air unit not working correctly. They quickly set up an appointment to meet my schedule and showed up on time.
They checked over the system, found the problem and replaced the bad switch.
The issue that I am having besides them not responding back to my private complaint is the fact that the part they replaced, you can purchase just about anyplace for $20 or less and Crome decided to charge me, an over 1000% markup price of $238.00 for the part.
I have worked in the construction trades for 45 years and understand markups. This is typically 50 - 100%. Over a 1000% is ridiculous along with the fact that they never responded to me to justify the charge.
If this is what they consider customer service, I would recommend finding someone else.

This is an update on my first review.
Talked with Carole this morning at Crome Mechanical. Evidently the link for my private review did not work or go through so they had no idea that I was not happy with there service pricing.
She explained Crome's pricing polices and that they do not break down parts, labor and general business expenses. I have used Crome several times in the past, but this time I just felt like I was taken advantage of because it was hot and my ac was not working.
Carole remedied the situation politely and professionally and I stated that they should possibly give a better description of charges for service, parts and labor to the customer in the future to avoid complaints of over or double pricing.
Crome Mechanical is local and do good work. I would recommend Crome for any of your mechanical needs.

We've had a balky furnace for a number of years, and Chrome has been very responsive in fixing it. When it was no longer able to be fixed, they replaced the furnace and our air conditioning which was also old. Chrome did a fabulous job. We were not able to be at the house while they were doing the installation, and they kept us informed every step of the way. They were professional responsive and we had absolutely no qualms about allowing them into our home without us present. We appreciated their terrific service and we will definitely use them every year for tune-ups.

Installed our new furnace. They were professional and prompt. We had one issue and they came out right away to take care of it. Furnace works great!

We have had Crome Mechanical install both our furnace and ac. So very happy with them. They send reminders twice a year for our maintenance on them. Easy to schedule and always on time and very nice. Would highly recommend!!

Called Crome mid morning when I noticed that my furnace had stopped working. They told me they could have a technician out to look at my furnace in just a couple hours. It was actually a little less time than that which was great. The communication was outstanding. I was called, emailed and texted letting me know the arrival time. The technician Tyler was very professional. He pin pointed the problem within a matter of minutes. He was able to find the part and had it installed in less than an hour. It was a great experience thanks to Tyler and Crome Mechanical. Thank you!

Chrome Mechanical went above and beyond in my opinion to make sure we had the correct equipment and a good experience with their company they are honest and customer focused.
We need new A/C in our home that did not have existing A/C so we contacted Chrome Mechanical after being referred to them by a family member. They came out to our home to look at our existing furnace and calculate the size of the unit we would need. They were very professional and respectful while at our home and did a great job educating us about what we would need and why we needed it to have A/C installed. After the initial consult they helped us arrange financing and set a date for the install. The day of the install the technicians were right on time and did a great job even going above and beyond by putting the unit exactly where we wanted it even though it resulted in more work for them. When they were done, we were extremely happy with their work, and I would HIGHLY recommend Chrome Mechanical to any of our friends and family...... BUT!
We were not yet done with Chrome Mechanical. After the install was done it was in the 60's for 2+ weeks and we had no need to run the A/C we just had installed witch was disappointing. But then it got into the 90's and we turned it on and right away something seemed off. We would set the thermostat at 72 and the unit would run constantly and the house would not cool off in fact on the 90 degree days the temp would continue to rise, and on days it would be 74 and sunny out (our house sits in full sun all day) you could set the thermostat at 74 the same as the outdoor temp but the unit again would run nonstop and the inside temp would not get below 77 or 78. so I called Chrome to tell them what was happening and they sent out a technician that same day at 6:30 at night to accommodate my schedule. I was VERY impressed by this and grateful I did not have to take time off work to fit into their schedule, I very much felt like they put me the customer first. The technician that came out again was very respectful in our home and professional. He explained what could be going on and made a few adjustments explained what he did and told me to call again if I still had an issue. After a few days it was apparent that even though the adjustments he did helped we still were having issues, so I called back. I want to say that at this point I was petty worried about what was going to happen next because we had financed it and the install was done, I thought we were going to be stuck with what we had but I called them AGAIN and I was IMPRESSED by what they did next.
Chrome Mechanical then sent out their top installer the guy in charge the main man to look at our equipment. When he came to the house we talked, and he took measurements of the system and set up and appointment for the very next day to have a larger unit installed! I fully expected to have to pay the additional cost for the bigger unit and would have to redo all the financing, but they took care of everything and installed a 3-ton unit to replace the previous 2 ton. Chrome Mechanical went above and beyond in my opinion to make sure we had the correct equipment and a good experience with their company they are honest and customer focused. I read all their reviews before writing mine and from what I can tell their honesty is clear even in negative reviews. I know that not every person’s experience is the same but what is consistent here is that Chrome is a business that focuses on positive customers experiences and honesty. Not everyone can make that claim these days, but they can.

Chrome does an annual inspection and check up of my ductless A/C system. This helps to maintain my 10 year warranty with Lennox. They are always very thorough to make sure the system is in tip-top shape.

We had them out for a quote and I was pretty impressed with their quickness and the reminders that were sent leading up to our appointment time. When our tech got to our home, we were impressed how clear it was with what we needed and got our quote and questions answered before the day ended. I will be recommending to everyone I know!
