Alvin Hollis previously delivered oil at our address. After moving into this home, we decided to stick with Alvin Hollis and were so happy we did! In addition to delivering oil, they installed a new boiler and water heater. Everyone we worked with was pleasant, professional, and responsive. Employees were on time for each scheduled service and left the space spotless. They also provided us the documentation to submit for Mass Save rebate.

I have used Alvin Hollis for heating oil delivery and oil boiler service since I moved into my house a few years ago. When you are a new customer, there is a deep discount on oil prices and on the service plan, however, even though I am no longer a new customer I am still keeping them for oil delivery and heating system service because they are that great! They fill up my oil tank when it needs filling, and they have a system to know when to do so so I never have to call and ask. The servicing is impeccable; they do a yearly cleaning and tune-up, and I've called them with a few issues which they fixed by replacing my oil line and some electronics on my boiler. Recently due to a mistake by a roofing company I had them come out to install an entirely new chimney for my boiler. Every time they come they are extremely professional, helpful, clean, etc etc. They are happy to chat with me and answer all my questions about my heating system, they never leave a mess, and they always have the parts they need to fix the issue on hand. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to have someone on call to fix their heating system.

Alvin Hollis is the BEST, hands down. They have been our oil, furnace and a/c maintenance company for decades. Their prices are great with service to match.

Every year they inspect and maintain our oil furnace and our a/c system. We recently had to replace our 40 year old furnace due to an unexpected issue right before Christmas. One of the owners came out just a couple days later to explain our options and costs, very low pressure. He didn’t try to sell us the most expensive system, only what was appropriate for our needs. Four business days later (Christmas week!) it was installed by three thorough, quick and remarkably neat technicians. They also patiently answered every question I had in layman’s terms (and I had a lot!).

Besides that, they always deliver our oil on time, never have to call and ask. They inspect our furnace every year with an extremely thorough process. Same with our A/C system which is also 40 years old and still running thanks to Alvin Hollis’ maintenance. When it eventually fails, Alvin Hollis will be the ones to replace it, no question in my mind.

We also pay a minimal fee for free 24/7/365 emergency maintenance which has more than paid for itself with the very few calls we’ve had to make in the middle of the night. Admittedly, some were just me being nervous about something silly, but there was always a kind, helpful voice on the other end to offer anything I need, including sending a tech at 4:00am, if only to take away my concern. And there’s nothing like hearing “no charge” at the end of the visit!

Alvin Hollis office employees are the nicest of any home vendor we use by far. Even when you know they are ridiculously busy, they take the time you need and are always so kind and you never wait on hold forever!! After our furnace was installed we received a call from Bonny in customer service just to check in that our installation went well and to see how our overall experience with Alvin Hollis was. She was so nice and very receptive to all I had to say.

I can’t recommend Alvin Hollis enough. If you’re looking for an oil company pick them. If you’re already using another company, consider switching to them. You won’t regret it.

Been a customer at Alvin Hollis for a few months now after I moved into my house. They cleaned my furnace, installed a new thermostat and installed my new toilet. Bonnie has been extremely helpful and proactive in calling. It's refreshing to deal with a company that treats you as an individual and really cares rather than a number for their bottom line.

We knew our AC was on its last legs so we contacted Alvin Hollis, who we had used to convert our furnace and water heater to gas about 8 years ago, to get a quote for replacing the unit.

Gordon came to take a look at our situation. He asked if we had any issues with the current system and we explained which rooms were not heating or cooling well. He looked at the ductwork in the basement and went through the entire house noting where vents and returns were and taking measurements. (In contrast, another company that came to gave us a quote looked only in the basement and at the unit outside.)

About a week later Gordon sent us a detailed quote. It was broken down into parts: AC unit replacement, ductwork reconfiguration, installation of a heat pump in a large upstairs room that doesn't cool well. He recommended just replacing the AC unit to start with and then deciding on the other items based on how that worked out. I appreciated his honesty and the lack of pressure to increase the size of our project.

We decided to go ahead with the replacement and sent in our deposit (half the cost). Even before that check had been received, Gordon got our installation scheduled. He said he was going to be out for a couple of weeks and didn't want to come back and find the summer all booked up. We were pleasantly surprised to find they could do the install in mid-June.

When the install week came, Gordon emailed to say they were short staffed and would have to reschedule. Fortunately we only had to wait an extra day. The technician arrived a little late, but not terribly so, and got to work. He was there for several hours and at one point was joined by some coworkers, including an electrician. By the end of the day we had our new AC and it has worked quite well to keep our house cool during the recent heat wave.

Shortly after the install I received a call from Bonnie, who checks in with customers about their experience. I told her it had gone well but we hadn't been given the manual for the new unit. She made sure that was sent to us in the mail, along with a record of our equipment being registered with the manufacturer.

Overall we had another great experience with Alvin Hollis and we would definitely recommend them!

My old boiler died on a cold Saturday morning. I ordered a new boiler on Monday from Alvin Hollis. Thursday morning their technician arrived early as promised and installed my new unit. Three different associates were in and out of my home all day and they were all terrific. Everyone was professional and courteous. By 6 o'clock I had a new boiler running in my basement. Due to the emergency nature of my install I couldn't price shop but I've have since checked with 2 friends that had similar combination boilers installed and believe I got a good deal.

When you need Alvin Hollis they are there ASAP.

Unfortunately I have not had a good experience with Alvin Hollis. A year ago we had two splits installed in our home. The split installed in our bedroom was to low on the wall and as a result we can not open our bedroom door with hitting the unit. We have contacted Alvin Hollis numerous times, had a representative come out and look at the issue, had one of their installers come out and confirm the unit should be moved and yet here we sit an entire year later with no resolution. I would not use them again as they do not stand behind their work.

Alvin Hollis replaced my hot water heater, oil tank, and 2 A/C units this summer! They were competitive in pricing and did an outstanding job in all 3 jobs they did for me.
