I recently replaced my old A/C Carrier central unit. Cranney Home Services removed my old unit and installed a new Bosch unit. Everyone involved in the process was courteous and professional. They did an excellent job with the install and provided a 3-year warranty.

Service was on time. Very easy to obtain a quick appointment. Electrician was very knowledgeable and friendly and explained my electrical panel status and the benefits of an upgrade. No pressure was applied. I decided to upgrade the panel with a whole home surge protector which will give me peace of mind for home safety.

They missed the original day but came first thing the next day. They were professional. There were 2 guys. The older (I'm 76) of two was not particularly good at customer facing. The younger was articulate and customer friendly. They did a beautiful job. Although I did little cost comparations, their cost seemed really high.

Scott Starrak came out from Cranney Home Services to complete a knob and tube inspection so we could utilize MassSave programs. He was thorough and professional, and was able to find old wiring that was missed by passed electricians. He completed all the work timely and went beyond what was discussed while keeping costs within the quote.

When our furnace broke, we called Cranney and they came and put in a new one. And that was all fine. When doing so, we decided to pay the additional monthly fee to be VIP members. On Thursday (2/2/2023) someone came by to check it before the fridgid temps hit. While down there with the guy, I noticed a leak coming from the Exhaust pipe. I was told I had acid water leaking from that pipe, and they would order a replacement part, and most likely have it fixed by the next day... But it wasn't major or dire. He checked the rest of thefurnace and said everything else was in fine working condition (and to replace the acid rocks before the beginning of next winter.)
Last night, (2/4/2023) my furnace stopped working. So we of course called. Waited on hold for about 20 minutes before getting disconnected. (No one picked up, just a recording.) Called back and wait about another 30 minutes before someone finally answered. Told her what was going on and she said she'd call back in 5-10 minutes. Over an hour later, we hadn't heard back so we called again. She still didn't have any info for us and once again said she'd call back in 5-10 minutes. Another hour went by and she finally called back asking if they could come in the morning. It was 8° last night and we didn't have heat and they wanted us to wait until morning! We of course said no (very concerned about our water pipes freezing, plus I live with my 75 y.o mother) and told her my mother NEEDS heat. The woman on the phone had to call us back again (probably about another hour or so later) to tell us that they would NOT be coming to fix our heat last night. That the technicians had been out working on VIPs emergencies and couldn't make it to us. We told her how we are also VIPs and having an emergency too, and we were basically told oh well.

This company was perfectly happy letting one of their VIP members freeze all night. So basically we are paying them to not give a damn about us.

To say I'm upset is an EXTREME understatement. And I will be seriously considering finding a different company to deal with in the future. Last night was some real bull.

Edit to Add: When the woman called to tell us they wouldn't be coming, we were told we were on the schedule for today. It is now after 11pm and they never called or showed. Absolute bull.

Another edit: I've been trying to cancel the VIP service since that's just paying to be ignored, and they have yet to cancel. Saying I HAVE to wait at least another month. I am beyond livid. Also, incredibly rude person on the phone today. Stay far away from this company.
