Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning

With an upcoming home inspection, I wanted to ensure that everything was in good working order and nice and clean. I called on a Saturday morning and was surprised to get someone. They took my name and number and said they would call me back on Monday to schedule an appointment. First thing Monday morning I got a phone call from them. Within five minutes I had an appointment scheduled for the next day. They called me an hour before the scheduled appointment to let me know they were running ahead of schedule and if it would be OK to come early. Rob, The service tech was incredibly friendly and informative. He took the time to explain what he had done and what I could expect from the home inspection. I could not be happier with how this interaction went. I would highly recommend them.

I have been an electrician and electrical contractor in Iowa City since 1977 and have probably worked with all the HVAC contractors in the area at one time or another. Brandt Heating & Air Conditioning is always the 1st one I recommend and the only one that I have work on my own house. I trust their designers and estimators 100% to provide the best system available and for a reasonable price. All their staff is top notch!

I’m surprised at some of the reviews. We’ve never used Brandt (new to the area) and have used another plumbing and HVAC company with poor results in the past. Our AC unit (30 years old) began to not cool our home. Fearing that we would have to replace the whole system, we called Brandt for a quote. Shane, an awesome service professional, came out and advised us to not replace it right now, he fixed the issue and told us if his fix doesn’t work, they’ll deduct the cost of his visit from a new unit. After several days of 80+ degree temps in the House, in one afternoon after Shane’s prompt visit, our central air has cooled outbound home to a nice 70 degrees. Shane and Brandt are awesome and have earned our trust and business.

I have used Brandt multiple times for HVAC issues and they are always quick to respond, do great work and are honest with you from the word go. Their technicians are courteous and knowledgeable, they do the work they say they will and make sure to go over the details that many homeowners tend to gloss over to help you prevent further issues down the road..

Witnessed one of Brandt’s manager’s, Alyssa, verbally assault an employee in front of peers with abhorrent foul language and complete and utter disrespect. Truly shocking. Not cool.

Ever since we moved into our place, over 2 years, we've had problems with our fireplace. Most of the time it wouldn't even light up. The few times it actually worked, the flames would flicker out quickly. We've had people come to look at it, and the furnace, before but no one could fix it. On top of not fixing it, the other service providers gave us huge intervals of when they would show up, making me wait around all day only for them to show up within the last 30 minutes. Finally, we decided to try Brandt Heating and Air Conditioning. They gave us a two hour interval and the service man showed up right on time! On top of that, the man, Brent, was the nicest service man I've ever met. He fixed the fireplace easily, showing me where the problem was, making sure I understood how to fix it myself if it happened again, and even gave me a few helpful tips. While he was at it, he did routine work on the furnance. The whole time he was friendly and helpful. Not to mention, he took off his shoes when entering the house and cleaned up the dirt that was on the fireplace and floor. I highly recommend Brandt!!! They were on time, worked efficiently and provided friendly and helpful services. By far, the best experience I've ever had with a service company. Thanks Brandt! :)

We have been using Brandt for a long time. Things have changed a little bit in that they seem a little less small and therefore a little less personal. But the technician who came took care of our needs and did a great job and the bill was much lower than I expected it to be.
