This morning our digital thermostat had no reading on it and I could not get it to illuminate or show any settings at all. Silly me thought there was something wrong with the thermostat itself, so I called McGowan's Heating and Air and they were able to send someone out the same day to help me.
Matt arrived only 2 and 1/2 hours later and got right to work. There was a switch that was broken on the upstairs unit which caused the thermostat issue. After a thorough inspection of the unit upstairs, he found quite a number of things that needed attention; some immediate and others in a month or two when the weather gets warmer.
The original HVAC company that installed my unit four years ago (I won't nAAme them, wink wink) did the unthinkable to us after spending $7,000 + on one of their larger units. Not only did they break it six months after they installed it during their 'maintenance visits' and then refused to take ownership of their young technicians mistake, What turned around and charged me another $3,000 to get it working again. Needless to say I was done with them.
The best thing my wife and I have ever done where the household upkeep is concerned, is to purchase a maintenance contract from McGowan Heating and Air. They are truly wonderful people and they actually care about their customers and doing a good job; which is almost unheard of these days.
I cannot say enough great things about Matt, their service technician. I don't think I've ever met a more upstanding human being in my life. McGowan's need to know how unbelievably professional he is, and that he is an iconic representation of the reputable company he works for.
If you folks out there reading this are anything like me, who are being battered down by unwarranted HVAC charges, please do yourselves the favor and reach out to McGowan's to turn that around for you. They simply cannot be beat.
