I’ve used them twice and both times - really helpful, scheduling was easy, good mannered and explained what was going on . I really appreciated it!

We had a new system put in, Sam the owner, and all the staff were great. Mike and Andrew, the young men that did the install took the time to answer our questions, cleaned up all the mess, were very polite and they did it in one day to accommodate our unusual time constraints.

623 days. That is how long it took from the day we contracted with Air Ducks until the day we had a properly functioning unit. I will summarize our experience in bullet points.

* July 7, 2016 - Sales rep visits our house. Old unit (4 ton) never worked very well but sales rep recommends a 4 ton to replace. We asked about going to 5 ton and were told that it would be too large. Assumed old unit didn't work well due to age. Signed contract for 4 ton, 2 stage unit with 10-year labor warranty. Total cost $8,850.
* A few days later we called Air Ducks because house not cooling properly. Sam, the owner came by, and made crew reinstall unit because it wasn't done right.
* Within a couple weeks called again because unit still not able to cool house below 85 degrees. Coolant low.
* Another service call because house still wasn't cooling. Tech found that fan speed was set on low. Changed to high.
* Another service call because house still wasn't cooling properly. I asked for unit to be removed and refund given. Told by Sam, "that's not how things work". Instead replaced valve.
* By this time, the summer heat had passed so we couldn't really test its cooling ability.
* First cold snap hits and heat wont turn on. Thermostat not wired properly.
* Takes 4+ hours to raise temp of house a couple degrees. Service call. Fan speed not set properly. Still takes hours to warm house.
* Next summer. Unit not able to cool house below 86 degrees on hot days. Service call. Change thermostat.
* Unit still not able to cool below 86. Ask Sam to run load calculation. Results: 5 ton.
* Sam agrees to replace system with 5 ton unit.
* Our duct work is not able to accommodate a 5 ton system. Ask Sam to provide us a quote. Told it will cost $6,890 to replace duct work. Get second bid from a different company for $3,300.
* Sept 27th, 2017 - Meet in office with Sam. He offers to replace 4 ton system with 5 ton system at no cost. I volunteer to pay the difference. We settle on $150 with the remainder of the labor warranty transferred to the new unit. I'm told it will take a few weeks before they are able to do the work.
* Late October I call to ask about scheduling. Told it will be another month.
* Late December I call again. Told by Sam they don't have the time or money to do it right now and that it will "be done by summer".
* I send a letter of agreement for Sam to sign so that I have assurances the work will be done or a refund given. I receive no response.
* I hire a lawyer who contacts Sam. I get a response saying the work will be done by Feb 8th.
* Contacted by Sam on Jan 22 and am now told that instead of the $150 I was promised, the cost would be $976.
* After several weeks of debate, we finally settle on $420. In this agreement, Sam refuses to transfer the 10 year labor warranty we had purchased. The result: we end up paying $933 more for the exact same unit without a labor warranty than we would have paid Bertie Heating and Air.
* Feb 20th, 2018 - 5 ton unit installed.
* The next day we have a different company reduct the house. They discover several problems with install, including the flue not being properly installed resulting in dangerous fumes being released into our garage. Additionally, they forced different gauge exhausts pipes together, spliced wires, failed to properly insulate the trunk line, and installed a gas line in front of the unit (see photos). The company doing the duct work fixed the dangerous flue problem and insulation problem at no additional cost.
* March 12, 2018 - Scheduled for inspection. Take day off work. Air Ducks forgot to call inspector.
* March 13th, 2018 - Take another day off work for inspection. Failed.
* March 15, 2018 - Take another day off work for inspection. Failed again.
* March 21, 2018 - Take another day off work for inspection. Finally passed.

Cristy gave us a great quote on our AC work and it was much less than we expected. Very professional and quick, no waiting a week for the work to be done. Very pleased. These guys are my new go to AC people. Thanks Cristy!!

I've had air ducks out a couple times for service. Always punctual and today I wasn't even charged because it was something simple. They are straight up and honest.

Would not recommend this company. They came out for a service call on a Thursday June 9th. I paid my 75.00 fee, as of Monday they hadn't submitted my info to my warranty company. I had to call numerous E times to get answers and I'm still waiting to get my air fixed and it's now the 16th. And the costumer service is terrible. I was argued with and told they were going to report me for harassment after telling them I filed a complaint. I have never dealt with a company with this mentality.

Great Family run Company. Cristina is a pleasure to work with. She takes the time to explain the process of new installation's and Duct cleaning.Wil definitely recommend them to other people in this area.

Our AC was on the fritz and we called around for a few quotes. Cristina came out and laid out all aspects including installation. Was very pleased and will refer others to Air Ducks. Thank you!!!

Jessica was a joy to work with and we will use them again. I highly recommend Air Ducks for a new AC unit and for maintence or service calls. A++ all the way.
