Great company to deal with. Sam was friendly, price was right, and his two service installers Mike and David were knowledgeable and professional in their work! Can't recommend this company enough! So pleased with our new a/c/heating unit!
Although the owners of the space I am renting has been a little negligent, air ducks has been very helpful. The first time Air ducks came out it was fixed but only temporary (repaired leak and added freon). This last time today, John came by and repaired my AC unit immediately and told me that he informed/reminded the owners that this AC unit needs to be replaced. Finally, someone who cares. Thanks, John and Air Ducks!
First of all, they sent someone out to my rental property to do a diagnostic who put coolant in the AC without talking to me running up a $500 bill. The AC wasn't working again the following day because their diagnostic missed a hole in one of the parts. I was then told that my AC could not be repaired and had to be replaced. I got a second opinion from another company who said the unit could be fixed. They attempted to con me into spending 4-5 thousand dollars on a new unit when I was able to get by with an inexpensive repair.
Air Ducks replaced my system 5 yrs ago, they never pulled a permit now I have to pay a new contractor to bring it up to today's code and have inspected. Marion county has Air Ducks license on hold right now, that means they can not pull a permit. Plus the county told me Air Ducks has let eight permits from 2018 expire without a final, that means the homeowners will eventually end up in the boat I'm in. I have no other recourse but to sue this company.
Air Ducks is wonderful! My ac was done for, and after speaking with Cristina, I found the right people to replace it! She was very polite, knowledgeable, and Friendly. Great service! Air Ducks is the place to go for your ac needs!
THE OWNER MADE IT RIGHT. I worked at the Builders Association and so I had contact with almost all of the local HVAC people. When we needed our home AC replaced we met with a couple of the more established companies in town but were discouraged by the experience of the technicians, the prices quoted, and professionalism. I had some contact with Air Ducks owner in the course of doing my job at BANCF and he was always professional. His rep glowed about how great a boss he was so I decided to give him a try. First off, our AC unit was a $12,000 unit but the owner passed along a rebate to us that the other companies didn’t and we saved $2,000. His rate for installation was fair and we felt that he was more than just a business person-he had character. His reps that came to the house were very eager to please us and went very far to do us a favor (though we didn’t ask them to). Unfortunately, the 2 reps were not as experienced as they needed to be and did a very poor job. The owner apologized profusely. He never gave us an excuse but did give us an explanation. He let us know that the reps were new hires and misled him about their experience. They were new to his company and when he learned of the shoddiness of their work he let them go. Then the owner himself came to our house to fix the problems and actually made some big modifications to our ductwork to make it more efficient and now it works better than the other $10,000 unit we bought 10 years before-we had to replace that one due to lightning. We had a rough go with Air Ducks in the beginning but we are very happy with the outcome. With tradesman, these things happen so to us it’s most important to find someone with character that will do what they say if a mistake is made and not give excuses. The owner did that, gave us a great deal for the unit, and made big modifications to make it up to us. We’d give him our business again.
I'm only halfway done, but have to give feedback about this company. First, they were the only HVAC company in Gainesville that would consider replacing the ductwork in my 1950's house with a very low pitched roof, and essentially no space in the attic. Two other companies in town came to measure but never got back to us. Air Ducks was scheduled within a week. The team who came to do the duct installation, Travis, Sammy, and Greg were very professional and polite. Their conversations were cheerful, and you could tell they enjoy their jobs as well as working with one another. Each one went out of his way to make things right. I was amazed that in spite of the mess involved with cutting new openings in the plaster, the house was cleaned up quite well at the end of each day. Tomorrow I get the installation of the air handler and the compressor. Looking forward to meeting more of the team...
Update: New heat pump installed, works beautifully. My house environment is much better. I can tell the difference in not having an old, moldy system. Happy customer!
Our AC wasn't working when we came home from work. We called and Jessica called us back right away and sent Sammy over even after-hours! Less than 4 hours from the time we called to a cool house. Great company with great people who care about their customers!
We had our entire HVAC system gutted and reinstalled in May. Air Ducts worked very hard to make sure it was all done beautifully and in a timely manner. There was no mess at the end of each day, either! Mike and Sam Jr. were very professional!! Thanks guys!!
The radio advertising specifies "free in-home estimates". I called them when my central unit went out and scheduled a visit. Although it was prompt, it was not free. A technician came out and said they would be sending an estimator out the next day, BUT he needed $89 for the service call. I gave him the check but told him no one mentioned anything about a service fee. I complained to the office manager and she told me she would have told me about the charge but I know she did not otherwise I would have declined the visit. There are plenty of local AC businesses who responded without a fee. Basically, I paid $89 to give them an opportunity to bid on a $3,000 plus job. I did get the unit replaced by a local guy who truly is low overhead and eager for my business. I oversee several properties for my snowbird friends and I will never even consider using AirDucks again and if given an opportunity to suggest such services to anyone, I will advise them to avoid this company and use AHS. That's all I got to say about that.
