We hired Fontaine Mechanical in March to install a two zone central air system in our house. After meeting with three different companies to express our needs and wants, Fontaine Mechanical was the only company that gave us everything we wanted and offered more ideas to solve our heating issues as well. Our top concern was clean air since both my children have allergies to dust and pollen followed by cooling during the hot summer months. Fontaine discussed what systems would give us the cleanest air as well as ways to run the system throughout the year to keep the air clean outside the summer months. Fontaine also heard my concerns about the lack of heating we had and came up with a plan to re-plumb our baseboard heating and add additional heathers so that our same oil burner could heat the house more efficiently during the winter months. By combining both jobs together, they also saved us money because the same plumbers could do both jobs on the same day. The job took exactly the amount of time the quoted and the crew was on time and courteous everyday.

I have used this company under prior ownership many times before and had a great experience. This time I hired them to fix a leak in a small bathroom. Was told that they will have to “Take out / Break” couple tiles under the sink to get to supply line to be changed. Then it turned out that it not the supply line but a drain and without telling me in advance, plumber broke out much more. He did not use a cutter to reduce the damage but instead used a crowbar and destroyed tile all around the opening he needed. He also cracked and chipped tiles on the outside of the cabinet. Now it is impossible to just cover the small/agreed on opening under the sink that I planned on doing with two spare tiles I have. I called the company and was told that I knew they will take couple tiles (which I did) but about the fact that opening is much more than that and about destruction of tile adjoining area outside of the cabinet nothing can be done by them.
The only options I have now are to replace cabinet to a larger one to cover destroyed wall area but that would require custom sized ($$$) one and would require plumbing work again and an additional expense OR to RETILE whole bathroom wall.
Update four Months later:
In January Fontaine asked me to take down original review and promised to take care of the issue. After three months they offered $200.00 toward purchase of new vanity and free installation. They know very well that Custom Sized vanity is close to $1000.00 and I already paid them $360.00 before I noticed the damage.
Buyers beware.

After speaking with several companies on the replacement of my furnace and water heater I decided Fontaine Mechanical was the company I needed to select. The recommendations they made we’re discussed very thoroughly with myself so that I understood the product as well as the installation completely. Communication with their office to schedule the install date was highly professional. On the day of the installation they showed up on time and it was very impressive to see the systematic approach they took with several crewmembers to remove the old system, install and fine-tune the new furnace by the end of the day.
I would highly recommend Fontaine Mechanical!!!

A year ago, after receiving the fourth $99, yearly tune-up of my furnace, I would have given 5 stars. This year however, I’d give zero stars if I could. I called to set up an appointment and was told the price was now $149.00, but if I joined their customer loyalty program, it would go down to $129. Even I know that doesn’t make sense. Pay $60 per year for your yearly tune-up to drop $20, that’s ridiculous. However, I understand prices have gone up and the furnace needed to be checked, so I agreed to the $149.
The day of my appointment, a nice gentleman came out. When he explained what he going to do, it didn’t sound like he was going to clean the furnace. I was apparently under the impression that our furnace was getting cleaned each year. I always just let them do the work, I never really went down to see what they were doing. That was my fault. He said he was there for a yearly tune-up but if I needed a cleaning, he would need a soot vac and he didn’t have one on the truck. He would have to make another appointment to come back. I told him that was fine and when he left, I called the office to make another appointment.
At this time, I asked the women who answered, about the cleaning and she told me that it was all part of the same price ($149) and that they would just need the vac to do it. I made the appointment; I had my $149 ready and I thought we were all set. My husband questioned the soot vac because we have a gas furnace, so I called back again the next day to ask about that.
I spoke to a gentleman that explained that it’s just a vac that they use if they need to clean out any build-up in the furnace (they check that with a combustion analyzer). That was fine with me, and I just wanted to verify the price. He then proceeded to tell me that their price had gone up slightly. That the $99 was just a special they were running for a few years. I already knew everything was going up and I was prepared to pay the $149 that was told to me prior when I made the appointment. He then said THAT price was the loyalty program price (If you paid $5 per month!). He said the tune-up price was $175!!!! That’s not a slight increase, that’s a rip off, AND, he said, if my furnace needed to be vacuumed, it was going to be an additional $141 + tax!!!!!
Just speaking to three people, from the same company, in two days, that price just kept going up. I didn’t trust any of them at that point and ended up cancelling my appointment altogether.
If I were you, I would stay away Fontaine Mechanical Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning. There are plenty of other services out there that do a great job and all their employees agree on their pricing.

Extraordinary quality! Bill and team provided me with a new water heater installation (and removed my old one) the day after I called. They thought of everything in the install, even a small pump for the condensed water to drain properly. Great communication, and great pricing! For my project, they completed gas line, electrical, and plumbing work, so it seems like they do it all!

I have just had my second winter with with my beautiful indoor pool house. Fontaine Mechanical provided and installed the heating, air and dehumidification system for this complex project. Everyone from Fontaine Mechanical that worked on this project was customer service oriented and professional. The work was done on a timely basis and I have not had any issues with the system since installation. By the inherent nature of the project- skylights, windows , a large space and a swimming pool there were a lot of challenges. However I feel Bill and his team went above and beyond every step of the way to insure that all the work was done properly. I have been very pleased and would certainly not hesitate to use them on my next large project!!
