Was looking to get an ac unit installed as well as a new furnace. This company went above and beyond to provide details on what best suited my needs. Joy was very professional and attentive. The crew that came in and installed everything were great. Her son Mitch explained everything thoroughly once the installation was complete. I am a very happy customer and satisfied that I chose this business for my home needs. I will refer them to all family and friends for future needs. Thank you again!

I'm the type of person that does EXTENSIVE research before making a big investment such as a new HVAC system. I spent over a month just doing research on brands and companies and agonized over the final decision. I ultimately selected Trane and Cool Sunshine after obtaining multiple quotes from different companies. I'm so glad I did! The team from the very start was professional and I had my bottom line price on the first day (something I wasn't always able to get from other companies). Joy was very pleasant and knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She was extremely accessible and phoned me back within 10 minutes each time I called with more questions when I didn't get her on the first call. The installation went without a hitch. The crew took great care in protecting my home while moving equipment in and out and the clean up was nothing short of immaculate when they were through. They took the time to make sure everything was functioning properly and made the necessary tweaks to the system to fit my individual needs. If you are considering a new HVAC system for your home, I cannot see how you can possibly go wrong with Cool Sunshine.

In the morning, we discovered our furnace wasn't working properly and our home was 53 degrees. Our contractor set up Jeff from Cool Sunshine to come assess the situation. Jeff showed up on time, was professional and friendly and fixed the situation within 15 minutes. He left the area where he worked clean and you couldn't tell he was even there. Would definitely use Cool Sunshine again!

I have an older home and I have wanted WiFi access thermostats but three companies told me it could not be done. I read all the reviews of Cool Sunshine as well as their competitors that I was considering. I ultimately chose Cool Sunshine because their cost estimate for identical equipment and installation nuances as estimated by all competitors was essentially tied for the lowest, and they could adjust their schedule to get us done weeks before the competition. There were a couple review complaints from two from 2 or 3 years ago about Cool Sunshine not being responsive to calls. That was not my experience at all. In fact the office manager, Joy, was in contact with me while she was traveling and responding to some email questions while at the airport between flights late on a Friday. You don’t get much more responsive than that. So, whatever was going on a few years ago is not happening now.

I had already had several competitors come out and calculate the heat load of the house and duct sizing and supply vents and return air to determine equipment size and any system adjustments to be made to have the home function as best as possible with the new system. The 22 year old system that failed never really cooled the house very well. We have a 2 story house with basement. From these other estimates I already knew what equipment I wanted and what adjustments I wanted in the ducting. Cool Sunshine did not do a load calculation, but rather estimated the load based upon experience. Of course they have the technicians to do a technical measuring and calculation, but I didn’t need it since after 3 prior companies doing their evaluations all said the same thing, I was confident.

I am pretty experienced in all things construction and HVAC, having gutted and renovated my basement, kitchen, and 3 bathrooms all needing electrical, plumbing and HVAC work and me doing it all myself according building codes and all under permit passing inspection. I have replaced my furnace controller board, blower fan, motor, start capacitor, thermostat, and even the start cap for the outside condenser fan. Remember it was a 22 year old A/C system and needed repairs over the years that I did myself. I do all the work myself because I don’t trust “professionals” to take the time to do quality work like it is their own house. I’m always disappointed, and a bit angry that I paid so much labor for a crappy job.

So as I watched all the work done to install my new system, I was really happy that Cool Sunshine was accommodating to my specific needs and expectations. They even appreciated the few tips I gave them to work through issues (no retrofit install is ever without issues that need creative solutions). When I wasn’t entirely satisfied with an aspect of the install, they came out and resolved it. After doing all my own work, I’m pretty picky about certain things that the average homeowner probably wouldn’t care about. Cool Sunshine made sure I was completely satisfied. That’s why I give them 5 stars.

Now for the really good news. Our install was in the beginning of July. It was a 16 seer single stage compressor, with a 80% efficient 2 stage gas furnace with variable speed motor. I kept the same Honeywell WiFi thermostat I had been using for the past couple years. Our electric bill for July into August was 33% lower than the prior year while the average temperature was 0.2 degrees warmer this year. My Honeywell report showed the AC ran 61% of the time compared to the prior year for that monthly period. Most important is that it was able to maintain the set point temperatures. The best the old system could do is keep it 10 degrees below outside temperature. I even purposely tested the new Trane system by waiting until a forecast 100 degree high day and set it to maintain 68 degrees for the whole day, just to see if it could do it. It did!! All day long, and with us going in and out of the house. Amazing! So that alone is worth it, but lower electric bills, a quieter fan, and a very neat and tidy install all are just icing on the cake.

They earned every one of those 5 stars in this rating. I hope this helps you feel safe in making your decision.

I don't write negative reviews often, but this was disappointing. Cool Sunshine was hired to come out and clean and inspect our furnace before we purchased our home last month. After moving in, we had our own plumber/HVAC guy out to the house to take care of some unrelated plumbing issues. He noticed a couple of issues that should have been caught when Cool Sunshine came out to do their initial service/inspection, including a disconnected intake flue. When I called Cool Sunshine to address these situations, the representative insisted that this was something that her technicians would have caught in their first visit, and if it was disconnected now, it must be because we did it somehow. I explained to her that no one has been in the crawlspace since moving in, and no one has touched our HVAC system, but she continued to insist that her team was under no obligation to come out and fix this issue and that they wouldn't have missed that, even though it is the only explanation. It seems like everyone else who has reviewed the company has had good experiences, so maybe this is an anomaly, but I thought this was pretty poor customer service. We are now looking into someone else to take care of these issues for us.

UPDATE: The company continues to refuse to take any responsibility for this situation. They have responded below digging in their heals, saying they have no idea who has been in the crawl space since they came at the end of August. I am the owner and moved in almost immediately after their service at our property. No one has been in the crawlspace other than me and my plumber together, since Cool Sunshine was here. There is no other explanation, other than the fact that they missed this when they were here before. Yet they continue to insist otherwise.
