I've received multiple text messages asking for a review following a service visit on Friday. I thought the visit was going okay, albeit hours late, until I was presented with a quote to fix our slow kitchen drain. That's when it went off the rails.

I'm giving two stars instead of one because the two service guys were good about putting on shoe coverings and by the end of the visit, I'd learned that my garbage disposal worked fine, and I needn't worry about it. That's useful.

The kitchen drain was confirmed to be slow after the two gentlemen decided that the pipe under the sink was installed at an incline and should be reattached to a lower existing drainage outlet. That sounded simple enough to me.

They then went out to their van for a bit and came back with an iPad showing a menu of service options. I instantly understood that I was about to pay their mandatory $59 trip fee and ask them to leave. The first line item was nearly $2,000.

The lead guy, whom I think is one of the co-founders, started explaining the features of that option, and I stopped him. Understand, all I had was a slow drain - I was looking for a simple solution. I said, "Let's skip to this bottom option, because this all seems high to me." The guy responded a bit shortly, "Let me finish." I told him that I wished he would. That last option was still over $500, and nowhere near what I was expecting a slow drain repair to cost.

So once he was done explaining four or five wildly expensive service options, I thanked them for coming by, and said I'd be getting a second opinion. We then proceeded with the mandatory $59 payment, which was more arduous than it needed to be because they didn't have any kind of credit card reader and had to enter everything manually.

I won't be calling on this company again. I'd much prefer a plumber with a straight-forward hourly rate.

Sunshine Plumbing, Heating & Air has always been very professional with any services we may need in our house. Their personal is wonderful at explaining what services are needed and helping to give me a good price. There are a few up sales that I feel are a little overpriced, however they have always been willing to work with me to make services more affordable. I would recommend Sunshine to family and friends. And Manny G. has been at our house twice, both times very helpful, friendly and professional.

Randy Rosales was my technician. He called when he was on his way & was very polite and courteous. We talked a bit about my furnace & other things. From what I can see, he did a great job inspecting & cleaning the system. I will definitely use them again.

We had a leak in our water heater and Sunshine was quick to get us in their schedule. Frank S showed up on time and was courteous and friendly. He asked questions that helped him determine our needs, and quickly put together several estimates for us to consider. He even talked through the entire spiel again when we got my husband on the phone to help make the decision. Frank was never pushy and was very patient while we decided which option to go with. Once the decision was made, he went quickly to work and we had a new water heater installed in no time! He was careful to clean up and return everything as he had found it. He walked us through the basics of our new purchase to educate us on maintenance and usage. He even stayed a few extra minutes after install to ensure the water was the proper temperature! Thanks for the extra mile service, Sunshine!!

Sunshine is always responsive and professional. They are respectful of our needs, our time, and our home. Emanuel was prompt, friendly, and professional. He found the issue quickly, patiently explained it to me, showed options for repair and gave me his recommendation. Sunshine's people, quality, and prices are excellent. It is a pleasure to reccomend them.

In the past year, Sunshine has replaced my furnace & a/c, one of my hot water heaters and a hot water heater at my mom's. The people that they send to do the work are friendly and helpful. I wasn't especially happy with the service when having my furnace & a/c replaced. There was an issue with the thermostat that was eventually rectified, but it took months, and lots of effort on my part. And I wasn't aware they had pulled a permit that I needed to follow up with until I received a notice from the city. Last week my mom had trouble with her furnace. She wasn't able to be home, so I met Manny (Service Tech) at her home. He did a great job showing me what was the issue with her furnace. He gave her options for replacement should she choose to do that (furnace is nearing 20 years old) and set her up with a maintenance plan for all of her heating/ac/plumbing. He was very helpful and did a great job getting everything back in working order. I will definitely ask for Manny the next time I need service at my house....which (crossing my fingers) won't be anytime soon!

Jason was fantastic. He had to deal with a couple surprises but handled them quickly and with no additional cost. We originally had him out to repair a cracked exterior pipe but also get an estimate on a bigger interior job. The estimate he provided was the best one we had received and he also offered to repair the exterior pipe at no cost if we agreed to the interior job. Bonus!
This is the second time we've used Sunshine Plumbing in the past year and we will be using them for all future jobs. You can't beat the price or the service!

Sunshine Plumbing and their staff are amazing. I would highly recommend this company, who on the coldest day of the year, squeezed us in (speaking to the owner myself on the phone). Daniel came out at the end of a very long day to tell us our motor needed to be replaced on our furnace. He left us with space heaters and came back first thing in the morning knowing we needed our heat back on, and fixed it in no time, AND brought dog treats for our dog. He really cared about our comfort and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We will be using Sunshine Plumbing Heating and Air for all our maintenance needs in the future too. Their name, Sunshine, truly suits the type of service you get.

Great first experience!! William was knowledgeable & friendly. Took his time checking my system & explained things so that I could understand. Looking forward to being a long time customer.

5/2022 Update- Sunshine came today for maintenance and inspection on the new a/c and furnace installed in December 2021. William Frew was the technician and was punctual, polite and professional. He helped remove a large item from the closet where access to the furnace is located. He discovered a light fixture had been broken in the crawl space when the furnace was installed. He went to Lowes for filters and a new light fixture AND installed the new light fixture! He also gave me some good tips for how to run the central fan to keep the 2nd floor cool.

12/2021-Had maintenance service performed on my furnace today. The tech, Manny showed up on time and was very polite, personable and professional. The furnace is over 30 years old, still running but not in the best shape so I'll need a new one.
Manny answered all my questions and provided estimates for the replacement and managed to come in within my budget.
I highly recommend Sunshine Home Services for your HVAC issues... don't forget to ask for Manny!
