Preston and Ben were doing an install across the way and I popped over to see if they could help me with my air conditioning, they had me call the office and Ashley scheduled another tech to come out the next day, Mike came out and fixed it right away, I'll continue to use two and tell my friends and family.

After waiting 7 days for the appt. with a broken AC and 90+ degree weather, the technician came to my house and needed to come inside to access the furnace. I asked him to wear his personal protective gear and to wipe down his ladder with a disinfectant wipe before coming into my home since we are in the middle of a global pandemic. He proceeded to put on his gear and then said that he wished to decline service to me because I was being unreasonable. He left. The company called me the next day demanding a service fee and told me that (and I will quote!) “You created chaos to his day by requesting him to wear his personal protective gear. You should have removed your children from your home prior to him arriving if it was an issue.” It is clear that they have zero regard for customer safety. The fact they demanded a service fee and did not complete their service is beyond me. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend them and I do not trust them. As a business owner myself that interacts with the public, I have gone beyond my duty to follow the CDC recommended guidelines to keep our community safe as well as my employees. I would like to note that I have clean, unused (still packaged) personal protective gear in my home I could’ve offered him if it was an issue of not having it. It wasn’t a matter of not having a mask and gloves, it was a matter of refusal to wear them but still demanding money.

Dear REO Mechanical,

I can assure you that my emotional state is well in tact. As a young, healthy woman who mediates and workouts daily, runs my own (successful) business and lives in a very happy household with my family, I have had little to no effect with my day-to-day in this global pandemic. What has affected me is my AC not working and it's 100 degrees outside. My 2 year and 4 year old are sleeping in rooms that are 80 degrees at night.

Here are THE FACTS:
1. Covid is a real. 2. CDC guidelines recommend disinfecting surfaces commonly touched. 3. The CDC recommends wearing personal protective gear (I have included screenshots for your reference taken from the CDC's website). 4. Although you stated otherwise, your technician did not wipe down his (very dirty looking) ladder. He started to put on his protective gear and then decided it was an unreasonable request. As he turned to leave he mumbled "I don't want to give you service because you will sue me if you get sick and I don't want to put my company through that". I could barely hear him as he scurried away.

Why in the world would a professional say something like that?

When your office called me the next day to collect payment for services NOT rendered, I told the woman the tech refused service and I need to get someone back out. You should have removed your children from your home prior to him arriving if it was an issue.” On the side of her technician's unjust behavior, she too refused to work with me, but still demanded payment. In fact, they have called several times for payment on services not rendered.

REO Mechanical, while you tell me I am defaming you, I encourage you to take a good look at yourselves and the opinions you've drawn on me and expressed on my public google account. While your ethics and company standards are put in question, it is based on factual circumstances. In fact, your response back to me is all emotion, belittling and derogatory assumptions towards my character. In addition, you're not being truthful about the circumstance of events. I too am a business owner and as it turns out you have stated your opinions of me in a defaming way, in a public space.

I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau.

No stars. This company is a disgrace to hvac installers they have no idea what they are doing have no knowledge on how to install and take advantage of people I'm discussed with the work (if we can even call it work) they did and the fact that they left more of a problem then fixed the initial problem is even worse. DO NOT HIRE OR ATTEMPT TO USE THIS COMPANY ANYONE !!!!

REO MECHANICAL IS WORKING FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANIES !!! THEY ARE NOT WORKING FOR THE HOME OWNERS BEST INTEREST!! DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE !! MY HOME WARRANTY COMPANY CHOSE THIS COMPANY TO DIAGNOSE MY HEATING PROBLEMS... THE VISIT WAS OVER IN 15 MINS AND THE SO CALLED "TECH," DIDN'T EVEN BRING ONE SINGLE TOOL ?? NEEDLESS TO SAY - I GOT A SECOND OPINION ... AND THEY MISSED A TON OF OTHER PROBLEMS ...
