Couldn't have gone any better. Barry and Mike Hyde patient and helpful - then installers Frank and Joe were very punctual, neat, polite and communicative during installation. We feel that we definitely picked the right company for this big project.

The Tech came to see my issues and did not have a mask or booties to enter my home. I did not feel confident because he had to call someone to verify what he was telling me was correct. After he left I had no power in my kitchen because he never reset the GFI. He did something to the power to my water softener that cost me $200 to get fixed! This visit was $85. I had an estimate done and it was through the roof for what I was having done. Needless to say, I won’t be using Hydes.

Miguel has been here several times in last 12 month. Two were routine for summer and winter and recently cleaning the fan assembly. He presented a professional and personable manner and was very forthcoming about his findings. I highly recommend Miguel and Hydes.

1 Star for the woman who answered the phone. I had a multifaceted service need. But when I led with the fact that I had a mini-spilt in our casita that needed service, BUT Hyde’s didn’t install it (which they refuse to service mini-splits they have not installed) she was wholly dismissive of my other needs. I guess I should have led with the fact that we will be needing a new system in the near future. But even when I mentioned this and that we needed routine maintenance in our existing main central air units, she still acted like she wasn’t happy booking an appointment for us. The real kicker was that after I did book an appointment she tried to sell us a service plan. We of course told her that we could discuss service plans after we see the quality of their work.

BUT…

5 STARS for Jonathan Carrier from Hyde’s who came out to preform routine maintenance on our AC unit. Jonathan was fast, professional, and did not attempt to sell us in a new system even though it’s just about time to replace our 20 year old haggard beast of an AC unit. Jonathan gave us his honest opinion and condition of our AC unit, Which we just had serviced by Big Jays AC 3 days prior to Hyde’s service call. (We actually didn’t need the maintenance - but wanted to see what service was like before looking at a quote for a new system - totally worth the $100 to see how the techs operate). Furthermore Jonathan was knowledgeable about the complex system I’m planning to have installed during the upcoming major remodel of our Mid-Century modern house in Palm Springs.

It’s fortunate that Jonathan is as professional and friendly as he is or we would never think of doing business with Hydes again based on the CS interaction.

That being said we usually use Big Jays Heating & Air Conditioning, but they referred us to Hyde’s because their father/son operation doesn’t install or service mini-split systems. Which is a bummer because Big Jay and his son are HANDS DOWN the BEST residential HVAC company in the Coachella Valley.

All that being said, we will be calling Jonathan Carrier at Hyde’s for our remodel. He is a stellar tech. And Jonathan also assured us that the owners are good people and that Hyde’s still has the character of a family run operation.

I love this company. I have their 2x yearly inspection plan for AC / Heating. The young man, Thor, was my tech and he could not have been more polite, informative ( I ask a lot of ?s) and professional. He came into the house with booties on and a clean uniform. They also call ahead to let you know the tech is on the way as well as a picture of him. I am very impressed with the service and work ethic of the employees from Hydes. Highly recommend.

Actually it was cooling maintenance. The hyperlink online did not work to list it appropriately. Jonathan was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. He also suggested replacing capacitors and a starter kit which we approved and he completed.

Jonathan Carrier from Hydes arrived in the window of time promised. He listened to how I described the problem and repaired my syetem in a professional manner (soldered refrigerant leak and put in new refrigerant). Also went into attic and increased the air flow by increasing the CFM. Previous visit a month earlier had said system was fixed even after I explained it was not. They had their system engineer call and argue with me saying the problem was fixed and was working fine. He was wrong. This visit seems to have fixed the problem so far.
