Hydes Air Conditioning

Hyde’s installed a new heat pump system last June and it has been one thing after another and the most recent event has left me furious. Installation seemed to go well, a couple months later I went to change the filter only to discover that they had not installed the filter box. They came to install the filter box which involved taking everything out but said that there was a gas line blocking the unit. After several phone calls they rerouted the gas line and took the unit out installed the filter compartment.
For the balance of the summer the a/c did a good job, did not experience any great savings, but it was comfortable. However, we noticed that the indoor humidity was very high. I had another company give me their opinion and they noted that the condensation run off was not sufficient for a unit of that size and that our intakes and vents were too small for the size unit that was installed. It wasn’t the end of the world, but should have been realized by installers.
Now, we were having a on demand hot water heater installed and the company installing said they could not install the unit because of a gas line blocking the hot water heater that has to come out. We called Hyde’s and they sent a technician (for a fee) who quoted several hundred dollars to reroute the line that they put in and obstructed the hot water heater.

Christopher from Hyde’s came to my house for regular maintenance and filter change. He was very friendly and personable. He took care while moving throughout my house, and he did a thorough inspection. While checking my HVAC unit, Christopher came across an electrical outlet that had green goo coming out of it. An electrician from Hyde’s came and quickly resolved the problem. I was pleased with the service I got.

Far and away the best price out there. Installers were on time, professional and fast! Installer mentioned he loved for for the company which to me is more important than price.

Christopher was great. Super knowledgeable and hospitable. Glad we hired Hydes.

Amador was efficient and pleasant to work with. I would be happy to have him in my home again with any service call I might need to make.

Called Hydes for a diagnosis on AC it was blowing warm. James was on time. He came in and removed the register. He said that he probably had a the right size new filter on his vehicle. He took my washable filter and never returned it. He also removed the two screws holding the metal register but neglected to put two back.
He went to diagnosis the Ac on the roof. He came back with a crazy expensive estimate, never telling me what the entire estimate included.
When I said the estimate was very high, and that I was going to get another estimate, he bolted.
I don't know how this company is rated as so good. I wouldn't hire Hydes again. I guess if I would of said go ahead because it's warm now, he would of taken my money in the thousands without any further conversation. James didnt even give me the model # or serial # after I asked for it.
Consquently, I called another A/C company that is reporting back with options. James never offered any options. (Repair part only, check with manufacture for recalls, or a whole new unit? ) My new AC company offered to do that for me.
I understand bussiness costs since I have had a bussiness myself for over fifty years.
The last thing was that Hydes office gave me a dollar figure for the diagnosis. But when James gave me the bill it was higher. He didn't offer to call the office or charge me what I was quoted. Felt like the old BAIT and SWITCH trick.
Never hiring Haydes again. 😒

I was extremely pleased with Luis and his assistant. They installed two heater/air-conditioning units in 2 rooms. Everything was cleaned up and the installation looks fantastic. Pricing was excellent and a Veterans discount was applied. Thank you Mr. Hyde. The office staff was excellent with great communication skills.
