pretty solid experience with these guys. they replaced my upstairs AC/furnace. My only negative complaint is that there was often a lack of communication between certain steps in the process. regardless we're real happy with the results.

Merlin’s called and offered a free service check on my ac unit rep came out and stated needed tune up and had small leak he would patch as the unit was running ok. I agreed when he came in my house statec cost was $2400.00 ! wow the. he said if i purchased the 5 yr service plan which included yearly tune up and yearly che k it also was amazingly 2400.00 what a coincidence ! not knowing patching a small leak and tune up would be 2400 i agreed to 5 yr service plan at 46 a month the owner the takes this and sells to a finance co to get the 2400 then the service co sends u a bill for a 8 yr payment plan for a 5 yr service agreement i never got any written service agreement so i am basically stuck now with a bait and switch the finance co adds over 1200 interest to the 2400 and stretches out to 8 yrs of payments 36.69 month. what a scam this owner is running per BBB reviews merlin’s does not respond when u call for the yearly check and tune up so now i’m very upset.This owner has a system to rip the public off. Wow and i believed the rep when he said 5 yr payments for 2400. beware of this scam !

On January 2021 I called Einstein to repair my air conditioning units and to their credit they came out right away. They inspected it and told me i needed a new AC and they installed 2 units one for upstairs and one for downstairs that cost about 16k. I asked the gentleman who was doing the install if everything would work and he said yes and I asked if there were any issues and he said no. One important thing to mention was that they did not replace my air ducts and said they were going to use the same ones and everything was good. I asked if we needed new ducts since we were getting a new AC, I figured we get new ducts also but the technician insured me that all is well. He finished the install and tested it and said it all works and left. I called the week after and told them some rooms in my homes aren't getting the air and they send out a technician to check it out and he said everything works (invoice 042622 & 042624)

Fast forward to today, 8/03/21, I had an appointment with Einstein for maintenance and I also wanted them to check the air because some rooms still get no air even though they said its fixed. The gentleman held up a device that checked velocity and one room had 1.5 velocity while the other 3 rooms had .5, .5 and .3. He said I have three options to fix this and they ranged from 1k to 3k. I stressed to him that the technicians never said ducts were an issue and its ironic that after I pay the 16k, now there is an issue and id have to pay even more. I mean if my ducts were going to be an issue, should the company tell me that before I commit the 16k and expect it to work like promised. The gentleman understood my frustration and even wrote in his paper "There was nothing mentioned about duct work in any of the prior visits" (invoice 042732). He said he would have his manager call me to see if we can work something out.

I never received the call from his manager and had to call them to speak to him. He then asked me to explain the situation, once I did, his response was "well we installed the air condition units, not the ducts and the ac works so that's not our issue". It went downhill from there and nothing was done on their end to even attempt to work with me. I was never talked to that rudely before and how a man with an attitude like that is in a manager role baffles me. They were helpful and amazing until I signed the contract and after that it was me chasing them and them basically telling me I have no other choice. Be careful from companies like this. Make sure you get everything in writing.

Our AC was not cooling the house so I did a request on yelp and they were the first to call me and it was right away at 8pm. Some other companies responded 3 days later. The service was excellent and easy. The technician that came out and explained everything and gave me options for my budget since I’m not working right now. I highly recommend them!
