Fairly certain we wouldn't have walked out of there with a brand new travel trailer if it wasn't for the customer service from Tina Dew. Her knowledge, humor, and honesty put a spell on us. We'd do it all over again, it was a great experience from being greeted at the door with fresh baked cookies and a smile, sales, manager, parts store to service.

My boyfriend and I went to Dodd RV of the Peninsula (Yorktown) to see a 1999 Winnebago Chieftain that we'd seen on their website and, upon arrival at the dealership, were directed to Greg, who was very friendly, patient, and willing to take all the time necessary to show us every RV that we wanted to see and that he thought might meet our criteria. When we stepped up into the Winnebago, it was love at first sight, and Greg did everything to make the sale right for me. In fact, I believe that we spent about 5 hours with him and had a great time! Greg introduced me to Arnold, who was really happy for me to be purchasing such a nice RV. That was 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to pick up the beautiful Winnebago, and make her ours. There is a wonderful feeling about walking into the dealership, and seeing your name on the board, where everyone who walks in can see it. A friend gave us a ride there, and Greg took us out to the Winnebago, so we could show it to him before he left. Then, Greg sat down with me and took care of the paperwork involved with the actual sale. When Greg finished his part, Arnold took over with the rest of the paperwork and explained everything to me along the way. Arnold then turned us over to Jene, in the Parts and Service Dept., who was very friendly, helpful, informative, and gave us their version of the Sears catalog along with a tour of the dept., explaining everything as we went through. When Jene was done, Pete took us out to my newly purchased Winnebago and proceeded to take us from front to back, side to side, top to bottom, inside and out, and spent about 4 hours showing us every function of every system, and how to operate everything. He was fun to work with, patient, and easily answered all of our questions. When an issue with the refrigerator and generator came up, Ricky jumped right in and got it resolved. After working with Pete, we went back to see Jene, to purchase the accessories we needed. We had a while before we could leave, because I had to wait for my insurance agent to put a policy together for the Winnebago and fax it to me. Everyone kept saying to stay as long as we needed and to make ourselves at home, and Linda was also very friendly and accommodating. I also met Mike, and he was as helpful and friendly as everyone else there. We couldn't have had a better team to work with, and I couldn't be a more satisfied customer.
Actually, I don't really feel like a customer. I feel like part of the "Dodd RV Family". I didn't purchase a brand new $250,000.00 RV, but I was treated as if I had, through the entire process. If you're in the market for an RV, new or used, I suggest you get to Dodd RV of the Peninsula. That is, of course, if you're looking for no pressure, quality service in finding a quality RV. Make sure to read their motto and mission statement, located in their lobby. It's such a joy to work with a dealership that cares about people more than the bottom line. But that's where their vision pays off. In caring more about truly helping the people who come to Dodd RV, they probably make more RV sales than any other RV dealership around. The team at the Yorktown Dodd RV, is just that-a team. They all work together like a well-oiled machine. They all enjoy working with each other, and they make it very obvious that they love their jobs. How refreshing it has been to work with this great group of extraordinary individuals.
The bottom line here is that I now own a beautiful 1999 Winnebago Chieftain (that I absolutely love!), and I love Dodd RV in Yorktown!! I can't say enough good things about how great they all are. I love you guys, and I'm a friend for life!!!! In the wise words of Yoda, Jedi Master, "There is no try. There is only do, or not do." You all "DO" exceptionally well!!!

We have been searching for an RV for the past year and we're convinced we knew what we wanted until Tina Dew introduced us to the Grand Design Imagine. We were sold and placed our order for a 2800BH.
Fast forward 2 months when our unit arrived, the Dodd Team rallied to get us closed, trained and on the road within a few hours.
During our time at Dodd we had our St. Bernard with us. They treated Gracie Mae as one of the family and even bought her lunch while we waited.
Dodd RV, without a doubt, is the BEST in the RV business.

This is not your normal written review, but in the end we can not say anything but glowing remarks about Dodd RV's dedication to serving the customer. They are a 5 star outfit ...We had every intention of buying an RV from Dodd. In the end, we decided on a different path, but to stop here would not be right. First off, Dodd RV is the first and only place I would tell anyone to go and shop. We went to the recent RV show and the Dodd staff went out of their way to answer our questions and provide great insight into the RV experience. Tina Dew, Mike McNeil and Arnold Smith worked their behinds off for us. You want these people working for you! They never gave up on us. The service staff at Yorktown were friendly and couldn't make us feel anymore at home than they did. Tina and Mike went to great lengths to answer our questions and provide information from getting the right truck to tow the RV, to where to go to get the fifth wheel hitch and of course the many details of the RV we were eyeing. If you had one Saturday to go look at RV's and understand the experience for a lifetime, then you must go to Dodd RV and talk to the experts. In the end, we are thankful for Tina and Mike and believe those that seek the best the RV business has to offer will find a great experience with them as well.

We had been looking to trade in our Jayco and purchase a new travel trailer. We went to 2 other dealerships (one in VA and one in MD), and had been getting the run around with the cost of the trailers and added fees, not originally advertised. The customer service was severely lacking from the super centers we had gone. That is what led us to Doddâs RV. Online, we saw the 2013 Tracer 3150BHD and finally found what we were looking to purchase. We contacted Scott and from the start, he was very professional and polite. Every question I had emailed he answered promptly. Since we were over 3 hours away, just dropping by to look wasnât an option for us. Scott helped us in getting the numbers and finance approved before we arrived. After having a hectic morning getting to the dealership to trade in our Jayco, we were greeted with a welcome sign, which took us by pleasant surprise. We were greeted by Scott and Mike, and were ready to make this deal happen. So we proceeded to transition our items out of the Jayco and wait for our new one. It was still in the process of being detailed, which was okay. We walked around the dealership, having to wait because a customer was ahead of us, even though we had an appointment, and was running a little late, we accepted that and understood. So we proceeded to do the walk thru and look over the new camper, had very friendly staff, Ricky and Mary, working with our questions about the new camper. So after hour 3 of being at the dealership, we started becoming concerned about getting our deal finalized with the finance manager and being able to come away with the new trailer. As I expressed to the sales manager the situation with having to wait, and was under the impression that all we really needed to do was do a walk thru and sign papers, we would be good to go. They explained they were short staffed and he immediately proceeded with our purchase and got us in with the general manager. After some miscommunications with the paperwork (normal with any dealership these days), we were able to finalize the deal and come away with our new camper. The overall experience with Doddâs RV was good. I would definitely recommend them instead of the supercenters down the road. The staff was polite and friendly (extra thanks to Mary-oi~!) and even though we had delays in the purchasing, they were able to work everything out and we left there satisfied with Dodd's RV.

We were greeted and taken through the financial part of our purchase with good explanations and accuracy. Then we were given an extensive review of the motor home and shown (hands ON) how everything works. Then we were introduced to people in the service and parts department. I would especially like to thank Arnold Smith, Mike (sales manager) and Greg Guin who answered my phone calls and questions without hesitation. Thanks to a great team and putting up with us being late for our appointment because of traffic.

No one came out to greet or help us. When we were standing by our vehicle a sales woman walked right past us without saying a word. My wife went in to ask about a 5th wheel, a salesman finally came out to tell us he did not now if it was for sale. Of it was not for sale, why was it on the lot in the for sale area with the door open so people could look at it. He did not offer to take our name so when he found out, he could call us to let us know. He seemed really dismissive, like he did not care if he sold an RV or not. Did not offer to find out what we were looking for, our price range, length, style or anything else that might be useful for him to sell an RV. Maybe there was one on the lot or on the way that he could have told us about. But they will never get the chance since we were treated like we did not matter and our money was not good enough...

Very professional with good products. Time was set up for pickup and to learn how to use the equipment. Every aspect of the RV was gone over. Took my truck down to service and when everything was done at the office, I went down and the rv was hooked up to the truck. Dodd put on a new hitch as the old one was bent. They went over the new hitch in detail as it was somewhat different than the previous one. Everyone is extremely courteous. This is the second unit I bought from Dodd and would gladly go back for another unit if required.

We had been looking to get a new RV for some time. Found the perfect one at Dodds Portsmouth. Bought it at the VA. Beach RV show. The entire process was great. Sales and Service are wonderful. Would recommend Dodd's.

My wife and I went to Dodd RV to look at a couple of travel trailers we saw on the Dodd RV website. Upon our arrival, we were met by Scott Hudgins. We explained that we were "looking" and that we had a couple of trailers in mind to check out. Scott pointed out where the trailers were that we were interested in viewing. During our walk-about, Scott kept in touch with us to answer questions but, let us look to our hearts content. Every trailer we toured was as spotless as they could be which told me that Dodd RV cares about its inventory and the impression it gives the potential buyer. We actually fell in love with the very first trailer we saw because met everyone of our wants and desires. When we made our decision, Scott and Mike McNeil made the entire purchase process a breeze. The were very easy to work were more that eager to negotiate a good price. Afterward, we were introduced to Mary Rauch who explained the parts department to us. Her friendliness and eagerness to help us left me with little doubt that I would be contacting her for many of our trailing needs. On closing day, Jamie Dodd thoroughly explained all of our sales options and all paperwork that was involved. Our walk through was conducted by Pete Foertsch who spend a great deal of time with us showing all of the "hidden" items that all travel trailers have and making sure we understood what each thing did and how to properly operate it. At the end, we reviewed a walk through check list just to make sure we did not miss anything. When it came time to hook up and drive away, we discovered that the safety chains would not properly connect to our truck because they were short due to the OEM receiver on my truck. Pete jumped into action to install a fix free of charge.
All in all, our experience with the Dodd RV and its staff was great and I would highly recommend Dodd RV to my friends who are trailer shopping.
