Our AC would not turn on so we gave Maximum Air a call based on the reviews. We called at 9:00am and they told us they would arrive between 11:00am-1:00pm. As I begin to settle in for the wait, 20 minutes later I received a pleasant call from Max. He arrived about 10 minutes after his call, diagnosed the problem right away, and had it fixed within 1.5 hours. He was very professional and courteous, taking time to answer all of our questions. We have had the usual bad experiences with other types of home improvement contractors in the past, but max was great. We highly recommend Maximum Air and we will be using them in the future.

Two years ago my downstairs AC unit broke and one of my friends recommended Max from Maximum Air Heating & Cooling because they had a great experience when they needed a new unit. I called up Max and he and his team came out and replaced my AC unit and furnace in one day! His team is extremely friendly, knowledgable, and they do a great job. Last year my old upstairs AC unit was blowing hot air and the unit was freezing up. Max came over the next day, charged the AC unit, and let me know how Virginia Power Co would give me full rebates for the work! Thank you Max for being a professional, friendly local business that my family and I trust.

I was very impressed with this company. They scared me a little bit when I called - when he was troubleshooting over the phone, he made it sound like I might have to buy a whole new system. I was also expecting a bill between $300 - $500 without buying the new system. However, Max came out, explained how my system works and best practices for making the AC system last longer. While he did say that I have an old system and it may need to be replaced in the not too distant future, he charged up my freon and only charged $105 for his work. I will be recommending them to friends in the area and will use them again when I eventually do need a new system. Max knows his trade. Good work and thank you Maximum Air!

I would recommend Maximum Air to anyone and everyone in Hampton Roads area. They are exceptionally professional. I have to agree with John Wimer – “hands down the best example of honesty, integrity, respect and workmanship I have ever experienced as it pertains to this nature of service. Service is always very thorough, fully explained, and the staff is friendly, polite, and respectful! Prices are reasonable and service is never rushed. I have had experience with other HVAC companies in Hampton and after using Maximum Air I will never use another company. Maximum Air has been servicing my 20+ year old AC unit for almost 3 years now. The service and the results are AMAZING!!! Finally decided these last few weeks to replace our whole system and didn't even give a second thought to calling anyone other than Maximum Air!

Completely agree with all of the previous reviews. Max came out this morning and fixed my system, which was short cycling due to refrigerant overcharge. Another contractor came two days ago and recommended an entirely new heat pump. He literally saved us from frivolously spending $$$$ to complete unneeded repairs.

Needless to say, Maximum Air has earned our family's business for all future heating and cooling needs.

update: the gentleman , Max called and spoke to my spouse after doing some digging offered to refund the amount we paid for the"work" the guy "did" I appreciate the sentiment and the call. Was very apologetic and stated that is not how he wants to do business.
We had used this company in the past and was pleased with the service we received, so we called to use them again, but I guess not everyone is Max!

They went out to the house we are renting out and the renters stated they showed up and began working on it without telling them what was wrong or calling us (the owners) to get authorization to do the work. three weeks later and countless phone calls and emails we finally got a bill via email telling us we owed nearly 500 dollars but for what the invoice said something about fixing a board and cleaning. but a week after they (fixed it) it stopped working again. they went out.... didn't call (us the owners) say they cleaned and blew out the system wasn't worth working on and then left. Now a month later they send an invoice via email stating "no charge" like you did us a favor! NOT! do not use them if you do not live in the state they do not ask permission to work on your appliance they just do work and then eventually send a bill a month later!

There is no other business our family would rather use! Such a great experience; if I could give more stars, I would. The entire experience was the opposite of any other company I had dealt with. Max was helpful and patient in explaining the issues that needed fixing, making sure that we understood the options available to us. Our AC now works better than it ever has!

Had a technician come to my house today for a diagnostic. My appointment was supposed to be between 11-1 but the technician was running behind and wasn't able to show up until a few minutes before 2; which I completely understand, it happens. Once he arrived, he was very kind and professional the whole time. The tehnician was there for 30-40 minutes. At the end of the appointment I was upset and slightly confused that the bill ended up being almost doubled what I was told that it would be for the diagnostic (no repairs were made) and I didn't have that amount of cash on me. I gave the technician all the cash I had on me and felt embarrassed. Afterward, I called and spoke to Max about this and the concern that I had and he seemed very sympathetic and understanding as to where I was coming from. After speaking with him I did feel better that he seemed to care about how I felt and states he will try to make up for it. Overall I am very happy with the customer service and professionalism within this company. We will be coming back in the future.

I would highly recommend!!!!!! We had another ac company which also installed our ac when we built our house 18 years ago. They always had great prices and was always prompt. We had 2 service calls in the last two months repairs were made but each time we also mentioned that the house wasn't cooling very good. Well we called again and argued that it was set at 70 and would only cool to 80 now and that was just downstairs. Finally the owner told us again it's not much you can do when it get that hot. Really??? We have lived in the house for 18 years and it has always cooled. So we called a couple of places and Maximum Air was the only one that immediately knew what the problem probably was and gave us more info since I was wondering if it was something we could do...if we wanted to attempt the fix they told us what to google. It came down to cleaning...I didn't realize how technical it was so we decided to call them back and left a message since it was after houses and to our suprise they responded immediately! We didn't have to wait and schedule a morning appointment. Needless to say they saw the problem immediately!!!! Fixed it and now our house is cool like it should be. The original ac company should have known it needed a cleaning when they came out and heck they serviced it for 18 years and never saw or suggested a cleaning!!!! Maximum Air just got a new happy customer from now on!!!! Let me mention again we highly recommend!!

Max came out and installed a new unit for us last October, 2019, he and one of his employees. They cleaned the drainage line from the air handler in our attic as well. Super affordable!! The upstairs thermostat wasn't working well, it wasnt getting to the right temperature it was set on, never turned off unless we bumped it up a degree. O'Dell came out and looked at the unit and said it was working perfectly, said we just needed a new thermostat and that we could get one at home depot for $50. We bought it and had a terrible time getting it installed right and getting it to turn on the unit. Put the old one back in so we could have air upstairs. We called Max and he spent about 1 1/2 hours with us on the phone to get it installed. He told us to make sure a fuse hadn't blown in the air handler, sure enough it did when we put the old one back on, it wouldn't work! So we put the new one back in with his guidance and sure enough it started working!! Its been nice and cool upstairs since and we haven't had any problems with it keeping the right temperature!
Thank you so much Max for your help and professionalism! We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for taking the time on your time off to get it going right!
We will never call anybody else!! Btw, didnt charge us a dime to come out or talk us through the installation!!
