I had issues with my AC Unit 1 compressor constantly running and not cooling my home to the desired temperature. I told this information to the customer service representative and it was on the email notes of the reason for service call. I requested a complete diagnostics check to find the root of the issue for AC Unit 1, and a complete diagnostics check of AC Unit 2 as a preventative measure. The technicians were at my house for 2.5 hours and came to the conclusion as per email receipt 112609-2 AC Unit 1: "Bad compressor Technician reported findings to customer and the following repair(s) were 📝system was running on high pressures, tech clean condenser and it went down but it was still acting weird, tech also found it wasn’t found proper pump down and there is were found it was a bad compressor." And recommended "📝tech recommended a new system due its now under warranty but costumer wants both qoutes , one for compressor and one to change the whole system." I was subsequently charged $127.50 for 1.5 hours of labor. AC Unit 2: As stated above I never had issues with this unit, but I did request a diagnostics test as a preventative measure. As per the notes on receipt 112609-1 "Per Mr. Popoca the a/c won't stop running and a possibility the unit may be to small for the house. (1) Our technician performed a diagnostic check on your equipment and found the following issue(s): 📝 Technician add 1.5 pounds of gas (2) Technician reported findings to customer and the following repair(s) were 📝upon arrival tech found system at 14 split, tech add 1.5 pounds of gas to get 17 split. System is now working properly. All other components working fine." I was charged $202.19 for 1 hour of labor, service charge of 30 plus miles, and refrigerant. I never stated that the AC Unit 2 was constantly running. Only AC Unit 1 was constantly running. Being naive to the situation, I wasn't prepared to purchase a completely new ac unit upon recommendation by the technician. A customer sales service representative called me the following morning and emailed me 3 proposals which all initially estimated over $8,000 dollars. Skeptical to make a costly investment, I took the advice friends and was referred to a technician with 30+ years of experience for a 2nd opinion. He came to my home and found that all parts to both of my AC units were completely functional. There was no need for freon to be added to AC Unit 1 because it was at its capacity. The only issue that was found was the compressor coils were very dirty and needed to be cleaned. He simply performed this task by taking apart the compressor and cleaning the coils thoroughly with water. It took him less than one hour to completely diagnose and clean AC Unit 1. My AC Unit 1 was now completely functional and efficient with my house being at my desired cool temperature. As a paying customer of Polar Air, I question their motto... Were they HONEST in their assessment? Only they could answer that but from my perception they weren't. Were they DEPENDABLE and EXPERIENCED? Obviously not because the technicians misdiagnosed. I paid Polar Air $329.69 for a misdiagnosis and if it wasn't for a caring friend and truly experienced technician, I would have made an additional unnecessary expense of $8,000. This is total lack of customer service, management, and company culture. I could only hope this isn't a company practice to intentionally give a misdiagnosis to sell another product. With current day inflation, a simple person or family like mine, cannot afford to be taken advantage of by a company that sells its services based off their unquestioned reputation. This is completely unacceptable and unethical on Polar Air. As a multi-million dollar company they know what they have to do to make this right. From my perspective, I received a complete contradiction to their company motto. All documentation, receipts, and emails will be furnished upon request.

Alex was prompt and very knowledgeable. Diagnosed my a/c issues right away, and had my a/c running smoothly. Despite his long hours and my late call (1130pm) he was very professional and thorough. Definitely recommend polar air especially if you're having a/c trouble after hours!!
