On the day of service, we received a text that our technician was on their way, and we could track their location via the link they sent. I appreciated that. When our tech Jon arrived, he entered our home with a hello and a smile. He listened to my husband’s concerns, looked at everything, diagnosed the problem and fixed our ac. He didn’t try to take his sweet time, up sell us on anything and nor did he try to overcharge us. We appreciated Jon’s professionalism and obviously great work ethic. I want to start off by saying that my experience with Britton has been excellent. I submitted a question during the weekend not expecting to hear anything until the following business day but instead within an hour John called me personally to address my question and get me set up with the soonest appointment they had available. John also was the technician who came by my house and checked my system. I was very impressed with his patience while I explained my concerns with my current HVAC system and how he took the time to explain the options available to me as well as getting me an estimated quote within a few minutes.
Britton replaced two HVAC systems in our house. My experience was great throughout the whole process and this is a company I would wholeheartedly refer to my grandmother. From what I can tell, they offered me high-quality products to a fair price (about 20-30% less expensive than most other offers that I got) and every interaction I had with them felt very sincere and transparent.
There were a few things that stood out to me (the first five in random order with the most important in the end):
1/ Responsiveness: Jon was super responsive. I've been sending him a ton of questions throughout the process and it never took more than a few hours (usually less) to respond.
2/ Customer service: When it came to payment, I somewhat misunderstood the process (note to myself - debit cards incur the same charges as credit cards for business payment transactions ;) ) While it was my mistake for not having listened properly and for not having an account at a local bank here in Austin, Jon went out of his way to make sure that I don't pay the extra 3% credit card fee. I think I would have been as happy as a customer paying the additional 3% - but I appreciate Jon's flexibility a lot.
3/ Process support Our attic situation is a bit weird. The previous owners spray-foamed and encapsulated it, but not entirely. This resulted in a few open questions around which type of furnace to use. I've discussed this topic with other local HVAC companies as well but Jon handled it best - and helped me to get a local inspector stop by beforehand to verify that we could go ahead and install the furnace we wanted to. I appreciate the extra mile that Jon went for this - other companies I've talked with just tried to sneak in another $10k for a more efficient furnace (which is super useful here in Austin..) or required me to install 230V outlets in the attic for heat pumps which is surprisingly expensive.
4/ Cleanliness: The team that came on installation day was quick and efficient and everything seems to be working fine. They rolled out protective cover for the carpet and vacuumed everything before leaving.
5/ Support: At some point while discussing your HVAC situation with service companies, they talk about maintenance. Most of the recommendations I got from other companies were always about how often I should call them to do paid maintenance (or better yet - subscribe to a maintenance + extended warranty package). It felt more than a sales pitch with lock-in tactics than sincere tips.
I don't believe Jon ever mentioned their maintenance plans (which I'm sure they offer..) but instead provided practical tips and tricks on what I can do myself to get the most out of our new HVAC system.
6/ No car comparisons The most important point of all - when working with Britton they never compared HVAC systems with cars trying to sell me that Mercedes or BMW. You wouldn't believe how much I hate these car comparisons. "You're German? Let me ask you this - why would you buy that old Subaru when you can drive a Mercedes?" Really?
Incredible job on our full HVAC replacement at a competitive price. John Britton is a pleasure to work with. He really took his time to make sure all our questions were answered, and his team did an amazing job with the details (fixing the compressor slab, chalking, insulation on lineset, etc).
They are definitely going to be my only call for hvac work moving forward.
Our AC unit stopped functioning and running cool air through the house. We called Britton at 7:30pm on a Sunday evening and they had someone available to help the next morning. John showed up right on time, was polite, professional, and helped explain what was going on with our system. He answered all of my questions and did a great job. They will absolutely be my first call next time.
Could not get to my computer to write this review fast enough, and this honestly may be the first time I've ever done this. I cannot say enough good things about Jon Britton, and his crew of professionals. At every level of this group from the scheduler/dispatcher to the installer everyone was delightful to deal with. I just had an entire new system installed after they had been servicing my old system for years...it was finally time. His guys were on time, did fantastic work, cleaned up after themselves, and answered all the questions I had.
Jon too went above and beyond when the unit that we had originally decided on was on back order. We were still able to hit our original install date, and he even offered to install an upgraded system at the price we originally agreed upon to ensure that the job was done in a timely manner. He did not have to do that, and just goes to show how committed he is to his customer, and keeping his word.
If you are in the market for a new system, or are weary of getting a new one as I was give these guys a call, and I can assure you that you are in good hands!

We have had them come out and quote for a mini-split for a garage room, heating issues and clogged drain lines and each time, I was absolutely pleased with the work and cost. Jon is very thorough and during one of his visits to troubleshoot and repair a faulty gas heating igniter, he brought to my attention that our carbon monoxide detector battery was dead, I'm so grateful he thought to check this for my family's safety. I was impressed with John's professionalism and knowledge in recommending a whole house air purifier to combat a mold issue we had. John also quickly responded to my request to modify the quote once I decided on the options I wanted to proceed with. Once I accepted the proposal, the work was started and completed on the date promised. John also completed and filed the necessary forms on my behalf to get a rebate that my utility company was offering. Thus far the system has been working well and we are pleased with the results. I would recommend Britton Service Group.

John came in and he is a super cool and mellow guy. Very professional! Explained their products and prices and even financing in detail. I was pretty much sold once he was done explaining. Plus, my electric company gives a rebate for AC replacement and Britton processes the rebate for you! It was all so easy and such a relief! I was even more impressed that after the install, John actually came through to double check their work and made tweaks as necessary. So amazing! I couldn’t have found a better company to work with.
