Summary: - Had heat pump and gas furnace maintenance done through CM heating and paid $419.17. - 5 days after the maintenance service control board of heat pump failed. - CM heating denies any connection with the incidence and asks for $2,800 plus tax for the fix. Details: Based the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I scheduled a maintenance visit for my Bryant heat pump and gas furnace. Communication around scheduling and what to expect was great with detailed messaging on what to expect and prompt arrival during the scheduled time window. The actual maintenance was a pleasant experience with the technicians conducting activities that one would expect for a maintenance visit (checking operating status, cleaning, taking pictures etc...). However, what happened afterwards was completely unexpected and left me with deep dissatisfaction. The maintenance happened on 6/14 2023 for which I paid $419.17 total including tax. During the early hours of 6/19 2023 (only 5 days after the maintenance) my thermostat indicated that it has lost communication with the outdoor unit (heat pump). This never happened before. As my heat pump stopped working completely, I called CM heating during their office hours and they sent out a technician to take a look at it after 2 days (6/21). The technician informed me that based on the diagnostics the control board of the unit failed and they were going to look into options that would be best to get it replaced. Today (6/23), I get a follow up call informing me that the replacement cost for the control board is going to be $2,800 plus tax and that is the only option for me to get it fixed. No mention of offering a refund for the maintenance nor adjustments due to the fact that this happened so close to the maintenance. I thought equipment maintenance was conducted to prevent these types of issues, but they insisted that the timing of events are pure coincidence and that nothing they've done during the maintenance would've led to the control boa
CM Heating is trustworthy, efficient and reliable. Their follow-up maintenance check was surprisingly thorough, and the furnace they installed is running great. Top notch company!
Andria, Lyle, Hunter, Christian, and Coleman were all excellent to work with. Our job was more difficult than average but they rose to the occasion, answered all our questions, were efficient, wasted no time, and the responsiveness was incredible. Even the folks who work their phones are professional and kind. I recommend CM Heating.
The first time we used CM heating was when our 25 year old, little free standing gas fireplace stopped working. I called several companies and got the same answer every time, “we don’t service or work on anything that old.” About a week or so later I received a ad card from CM heating and it said “we repair gas fireplaces”. I called the next day and to set up a time for them to come out and take a look. A few days later we were notified of a date and time they would be out. John was the technician, and come to find out is a fireplace expert with many years experience and a really nice guy. He figured out the problem, fixed it, cleaned it, and commented on what nice shape it’s in. Now we have to address our 25 year old gas furnace. It actually was on its last leg and we also wanted air conditioning. I called CM heating and Joe came out and did a complete walk through, he went up in the attic and looked under the house. We talked about what we wanted and he put a system together which included replacing the old furnace with a new air handler and a new heat pump. We also had them clean our ducts after everything was finished. We were prepared to get started right away since this has been a plan of ours for a few years. Joe told us what to expect from start to finish. Joe was professional, funny, and answered every question we had. They installed everything in two days. The crew was professional, funny and knew there stuff. The installation went great, the quality and attention to detail were what you would expect when you make this kind of investment. The difference is night and day! We absolutely love our new system and feel very comfortable knowing everything was done 100% correctly. It’s true………..”There’s No Beating CM Heating”!!
Had an estimator come out last week for a ductless heat pump estimate, and Steven Camp was very professional, informative, and was just a great friendly experience. He gave me suggestions on placements that I didn't think of, and you can tell he cares about the service and quality CM Heating provides.
Our electrician, Dave at Goodsense Electric, referred us to CM Heating for a new heat pump, furnace and split system. We had received a couple other estimates and CM was by far the best value. The quality of service, workmanship, professionalism were topnotch. Our Customer Consultant, Scott, was very thorough and knowledgable. He didn’t try to up-sale us on anything but listened to what we needed and then provided the best options. We were impressed by all of the crew who came out for the installation; all were professional, communicative and on-time and fun to chat with. They always answered any question we had and tried to educate us on best ways to get the longest life out of our products. We won’t hesitate to utilize them for any future needs. Thank you CM-team!
I’ve used CM for two houses for furnace and WH maintenance and replacement. 5 star service and John the owner was great! Next issue I got a quote on couple years ago. I called a month ago that someone needed to call me back. Enter my displeasure with Heidi in service. She calls back, the call ends before I even got what I wanted. Does she call back? Of course not! I call back and get VM. Life gets in the way, few weeks later I email I’m still interested, same issue, please return my call since Heidi can’t seem to. Sure enough, I get another quote and call two days later from, you guessed it, Heidi! For FOUR TIMES the original quote! I immediately call to ask why?! Heidi says that’s what the tech gave me. Ok, but why? Where’s the breakdown of the costs? She says that’s just what he said it is. Our prices have gone up. I understand inflation but I’m a repeat customer and I have the original quote right here. She says that’s just our prices. I can schedule service for you if you’d like. I said no I don’t want service before someone explains to me the price increase. She says well someone can call you back in 24-48 hours. Is there anything else I can do? I said I highly doubt you’ll relay the message. GUESS WHAT??!?! It’s been been 9 days and haven’t heard from anyone! Since CM has expanded from the small office on Broadway, service is junk! Techs are good once they finally arrive. But the office staff especially Heidi, all needs to go!
Kevin was our tech on our visit today. He was efficient and thorough. Our furnace was not producing heat but the fan would run. Their same day service was critical in a day we spent in 53° waiting for their technician to arrive. They had the parts on hand and left within the hour with repair completed, tested and verified. Kevin was awesome. I appreciate him and this company. Absolutely recommend to family and friends!
Lucas helped us out in our recent diagnosis and we ended up signing up for their annual maintenance plan. CM heating did a great job for our HVAC servicing & diagnostic requests.
Kevin S was great at his job and he explained to us what things where since we are new to furnace operations. He was very professional 10 out of 10! Even when I called to set the appointment up Kennedy was very helpful as well.
On late Friday afternoon, our gas furnace was not functioning properly. I called CM Heating and was greeted by a friendly and helpful person. An appointment was scheduled for the next day--which was great. The technician, Riley, arrived and was excellent. After explaining his observations and diagnostics to me, he answered all of my questions respectfully and thoroughly. There is another well-known company that we have used for many years, and CM Heating is superior in their friendly attitude and service. The other company's representative stated that they were booked out for several days, and would not even provide an estimated service date. That service representative did not seem to care. CM Heating will be the next call whenever we have a need for furnace maintenance or repair.
This was my second time working with CM Heating. Dan Kelso was the tech that came out today and he was phenomenal. I got a call from the office staff the day before giving me an arrive window for the tech, and the morning of the appointment the company sent me a text with a bio of the tech, his picture, and an office phone number to call if I encountered any issues. All made me feel incredibly secure having someone in my home. Dan then sent a message and a call when he was on his way. He came in, put booties on his shoes, and gave me a layout of what he was going to look at. Incredible professional and nice. At no point was I pressured into anything even with admitting that HVAC is not my wheel house. He recommended one repair which he completed quickly and efficiently. He also gave me professional recommendations on next steps for the longevity of my heat pump. Thank you to CM Heating and Dan, I truly appreciate your time and care in my home.
Spencer and his team were on time, courteous and hard working. We had 3 mini splits installed at the lowest price of several bids. They also started the next day after bid! Very impressed with the work completed, the communication and service. Highly recommend CM Heating!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Steven C. as my comfort consultant, and I must say that the experience was exceptional. I contacted three different vendors to get a in-home AC unit quote, Steven C. with CM Heating provides the best service. Steven is a true professional who goes above and beyond to ensure that his clients are satisfied with his services. Since my house has AC rough-in pre-build, Steven still closely examined everything from furnace to coils, from circuit breaker to cables. When Steven has any concerns with the project,he calls his support team immediately to get those concerns sorted out; he then carefully explains everything to me. Steven was attentive to my needs and took the time to listen to my requirements. He kept those requirements in mind throughout the whole process. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the level of service that Steven provided. His attention to detail, professionalism, and expertise truly set him apart. Tobin was called in to resolve a long ongoing lack of system performance. He took the time to fully analyze our heat pump system and settings. Found a few things to adjust and ordered a faulty sensor replacement. He also explained everything clearly and answered all our questions.
Jay was great with helping us decide which new heating system we needed for our home. He made things easy to understand, and we felt no pressure to buy something we didn’t need. He also helped us with discounts that made the final price very affordable. It was a pleasure to work with Jay.
Tobin was very informative regarding our new furnace! He let us know that we needed to have all our registers open so the furnace could operate properly. He was very friendly and courteous and explained everything in detail. CM Heating deserves more than 5 stars in our opinion! Fast and courteous service and awesome technicians! Highly recommend!
We called CM Heating for a second opinion after our furnace died on us. The first heating company we used tried to push us into either replacing the blower and motor or the entire furnace. I called CM Heating, who was available to come out and look at our furnace. When CM Heating arrived, I informed Lucas what had happened and what the other heating company told me. He told me that he'll see what he could do and after a few minutes, our furnace was up and running. Lucas informed me that the blower and motor are still in great working condition and that he may need to replace one part, which cost us 3/4 less than the other heating company. I am thankful and grateful that Lucas showed up and was able to honestly tell me what was wrong with my furnace. Thank you Lucas and CM Heating. You gained a new loyal customer today. Update! Unfortunately, our furnace died again that same night it was serviced. I called CM Heating and informed them what happened. This time Amir showed up and started to take a look. I explained to him what Lucas had told me. After a few minutes Amir quickly zeroed down to the problem. It turned out that one of the other reasons our furnace died was a loose induction tube. After getting it up and running, Amir made sure the furnace operated right. Furnace is now running like a champ. Again CM Heat came through. Plus a big thank you to Amir!
Thank you for coming out and getting our furnace running again. Our original service company couldn't get here to take care of our situation for 2 days after the situation. Will definitely use C&M in the future. Service technician Luke Yandell was awesome!
The Tech, Adam, was very patient answering questions about the service and the available offers. He did not pressure us in any way, but gave us the information and allowed us to make a choice that best fit our situation. During the visit the was a little time to get to know Adam more and it was a pleasure to just chat. The final report was clear with many pictures which will be useful next year when CM Hearing returns to do general maintenance on our two heat pump systems. It was a pleasure. Doug Mangini After the installation I had questions and concerns that the new system wasn't functioning as expected, given a second unit was kicking in at different temps. The initial response was that heat pumps only work above 35 degrees, but CM Heating understand my confusion and frustration. Instead of forcing me to just accept it they scheduled a tech to visit and explain why. While doing so the tech showed me the settings for both units and we found they were not set the same. After talking about the situation we agreed to compromise on the setting for both units which the tech correctly adjusted both. This was great that they took the time to explain things so that I was comfortable with the recent $$$ purchase. Very impressed with the entire CM Heating team I have worked with!!!
