DR HVAC is exactly what you want in a local business: every single employee is kind and hardworking, they shoot you straight, and they do quality work every time. I'm so glad we had them install our new A/C last year and we will continue to use them for maintenance as long as we live here in Austin.

Horrible customer service. Marge at the front is useless it seems. No courtesy call before showing up. Called to get in touch with owners only for that message not to be handed off to them. The service tech that they sent out without notification was kind and that’s why you get one star. I would use extreme caution using this business if you expect to have clear communication and just an overall quality service. I’d say you could do better but it seems you can’t

Don is awesome! He installed our new system last year and either himself or one of his crew came out almost daily for almost a week to keep our old system working until the new one came in. I had an issue this year with the thermostat turning off (sensor was tripped because we didn’t maintain the drain line). Don helped me troubleshoot the issue and came out super promptly the next day for a maintenance call. He’s so kind and helpful! Thanks Don!
Handled issue to my satisfaction
I first called Dr HVAC when my ac was out everyone said 1-2 days. David and Richard came out and fixed my unit. They were at the house until about 11:00pm and cooled us down. This was in the beginning of their business years ago. As they have grown their business they still offer the same quality and professional service that I have grown to trust. Not many businesses around with their integrity. I tell them the three most important people in my life Dr HVAC, my well guy and my cardiologist.
Craig at DR HVAC is the absolute best. We are first time home owners and we had a leak, which another ac company said was the ac drain line that had a crack. The other AC company gave us a quote for $1500 and wasn't even sure if that would solve our leak problem! Craig came out and helped us diganosis that it wasn't the ac drain at all but was a plumbing issue and helped us find the leak. I even got a quote from Craig for the ac condensate line replacement and it was $1000 CHEAPER than the other company!! Craig is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He has won a customer for life and DR HVAC will be the only AC company I use in the future. If you're looking for the absolute best AC company in Austin, Cedar Park, + Leander Texas, DR HVAC is it.
We have been using Richard for 7+ years. I honestly do not know what we would have done without him sometimes. Richard is extremely knowledgeable and exceptionally thorough and diligent. This combination makes for a very keen eye. Not only is his work impeccable, but so is his character. I know for a fact that Richard has done more for less for people who needed the help. This is why I have had him work not only on my own home but my family’s homes. From refrigerant recharges to complete replacement, there is no other HVAC professional that I will ever use. Richard is knowledgeable, trustworthy , responsive, polite , and very good at what he does. We had him come out for a clogged drain that was causing the overflow pan to drip. He gave us suggestions on how to prevent future issues and took care of what we needed above and beyond . We highly recommend Dr HVAC.
Richard is totally awesome. Has fixed a couple of AC issues for me over the years and also takes care of my HVAC maintenance for me. A really honest guy who does a great job. He’s also super friendly and courteous. Cannot recommend him enough.

As bad luck would have it, we had our furnace quit during the storm of the century. A national company came out, diagnosed the problem and said it would require parts that are not readily available (20 yr. old system). They were happy to quote a whole new system for me but due to time and money, that didn’t seem like an option. Dave with DR HVAC came out (late on a Saturday) for a second opinion and confirmed the part was indeed bad but he was able to bypass it and get our heat going again. That was a lifesaver. Thanks Dave for your help in getting us going again. Your knowledge, honesty, and commitment are appreciated. It’s reassuring to know I now have a “go to” HVAC company that I can count on when needed.
It’s great to work with Local Companies who treat customers like friends. We value each other. Rich and Dr HVAC are not only professional and knowledgeable, they are also great people. David was extremely timely, very professional, and couldn't have provided better service. Very pleased and I highly recommend DR HVAC!
March 2019: We have a two story older home that only had one thermostat. We contacted several HVAC companies and most said that they couldn't do it or wanted to change us an arm and leg! Richard and David gave us a VERY fair estimate and explained how the whole process worked. May 2020: Our AC wouldn't turn off and I emailed Richard and he was able to come out the next afternoon and take a look for me...DR HVAC is my go-to HVAC company and I will be referring them to my clients and friends!!!
This Texas heat can be brutal once it hits 90+ degrees and your AC unit goes out, you'll do just about anything to get it up and running again. Dr. HVAC sent out David (a technician with decades of experience and also a co-owner of the company) the SAME DAY to take a look at my unit. Boy, were we fortunate for such a quick and friendly response to our problem! I've also had the pleasure to speak with Richard, also a co-owner of the company. While I dread the thought of my AC unit requiring service again, I look forward to the opportunity to work with Dr. HVAC Services again.
