Hugh, was amazing from beginning to end. He gave his expert opinion on the type of AC unit I needed. Hugh installed the unit and cleaned up after installation. I love my new unit and it is whisper quiet. He was kind and personable. I would highly recommend this AC company and would call them if needed again. A+ company!!!
Warning!!!!!!!!!!!! please do your own research first before calling this company. This guy came and told me the Ac needed 3 lbs of freon but he didn't mention anything about a leak. Replace a $15 compasitor charged me $210 plus 3lbs of Freon total came up to $491. My Ac unit didn't need freon unless there a leak, and the compactor only cost 12 dollars, You scamed us man, you got us for now but karma will catch up to you soon. I'll let karma handle this one.
I don't like writing negative review but this one had me hurt and angry for days. My Ac unit stop blowing cold air but still functional so i called this company, the black male show i forgot his name and told me that it needed a brain which is the capacitor and 3lbs of Freon. Now keep in mind that the Ac doesn't Freon unless there is a leak! My intuition told me something was not right so i did some research to find out the truth. Turn out the capacitor that he told me cost $120 only cost $15 and he charge me $210 to install. My Ac didn't need recharge still he charged me 3lbs of the $89 per lbs of Freon .He clearly didn't state anything about a leak! until later when i confronted him about the situation then he told me that the valve was loose which he made that up to justify his act. This guy took advantage of me the opportunity to make quick cash. sorry but I wont be doing business with this company anymore.
He helped me greatly even he is out of town to trouble shooting a AC issue caused by someone else. He pinpoint the issue over the phone and saved me a ton of troubles without charge. Highly recommended to anyone.
My AC went out on a Thursday night about 8pm. I called Alumni air and they were there by 9pm I couldn’t believe it. The best part about it was there was no funny business. They fixed what was wrong, charged me only for what was wrong and they were gone just as quick as they had arrived. I never leave reviews good or bad but I’m grateful for this company so I decided I had to. Thank you again!
Tyson was professional, knowledgeable, and explained everything thoroughly. From now on Tyson and Alumni AC are my go to for any ac work. I called several other companies and they gave me the run around. Tyson called and said he’d be right out. Thank you Tyson. Go Bulls!
Good business. The owner is very friendly and helpful. If I ever need this service again I will definitely contact them. 100% recommended.
Alumni Ac does very good work. Im the state manager of all the CVS stores in Florida. This company comes in and install all our hvac in the new med clinics in our stores. Very clean and thorough. Love the work.
Tyson was incredible!! Very professional and fast! Life saver!!
The best service I’ve ever had from a technician. Tyson was absolutely phenomenal! Just off of the description of my issues he already new the fix. I’m not sure he was even here 20 minutes and my pregnant wife had A/C again. I highly recommend this company and especially technician “Tyson”. Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate your service!
My Air Conditioning unit stopped working on a hot, humid Friday evening. I have a service plan with another A/C service company but they didn't have any availability...I needed help immediately it was in the 90’s... A close friend recommended her service guy Hugh, Almuni Air Inc. I called him and he was immediately in ” fix it” mode. He was professional, knowledgable and thoughtful...and affordable. He pointed out concerns that needed to be addressed immediately. The A/C guys whom I used prior installed my A/C and never resolved the open permit. This was a great catch... Called the county to resolve. I also had an ongoing leak that cost me to replace freon... The previous guys who came out a couple months ago never brought it to my attention. Alumni air was able to resolve the issue and we now have cold air! I am now with Alumni air Thank you Hugh!
AMAZING! I honestly can’t say enough about Alumni AC they have saved me many times. I have used these guys at my house, grandmother and pretty much any and everyone I can think of in my family and friends. Hugh always answers my calls and get right on it no matter how small or big the job. Hugh always treats me right gives me the best prices, and always nice. I will never use another AC company as log as Alumni AC is around. Thank you guys for years of unbelievable service at many different properties and many many more!!
Very professional and will get the job done right. I highly recommend Mr. Smith services as he will always be fair when providing quotes and provide great quality work.
NIGHTMARE: Our AC system kicked the bucket Sunday night, leaving us scrambling to get AC in our home asap. Alumni Air was the most expensive quote at $5,800, but they could install the following day, which is why we chose them. No one ever came to our home, looked at our old unit, looked at our ducts, or anything. We endured a 10 hour install on Tuesday to finally have AC at 6pm and our home was cooled beautifully… for 21 hours. Around 3pm on Wednesday the thermostat went up to 81 and would not go down with air continuing to blast. We reached out to Alumni and were told that it was the hottest part of the day and to let the unit run until the house cool. The air continued to run and yet the temperature continued to climb to 86. We reached out to Alumni again and were told Hugh was on vacation and would come out the next day when he returned. Thursday came and we received a call from Alumni stating that Hugh got his vacation day mixed up and that he would not be coming but instead the installer would come. Then we received a call from the installer stating that he was booked for a job the entire day and that he could not come out until the following morning. Another day of AC running, another day of 86 degree temps in the house. The installer came Friday to confirm the unit was working just fine. He took pictures of the duct work but said he wasn’t the duct guy so he couldn’t diagnose a problem, let alone fix a problem. We reached out to Alumni again to tell about the unbearable temperature in the house and we were told that from the pictures, the ducts looked so bad that they needed to be replaced before our home could be cooled. We took issue with this because the old system cooled the house just fine with those ducts, and so did the new unit for the first 21 hours. He said that 3:00 was the hottest part of the day that’s why the AC system was working so hard, but the old system kept the house cool all day and a brand-new unit should be able to cool a house below 8
Great customer service. Had an issue with a.c on a Sunday and contacted alumni ac. And with a a couple txt my ac was working again. Thank you so much for your help. I recommend alumni ac for any ac problems. Thank you.
Great Company , great Ownership , identifies the problem with a need to satisfy the customer. Mr Smith the owner, even came out to the job to see his employees get the job done and we were satisfied. 5stars given for punctuality , 5 stars given for a small business owner committed to great customer service. Want to thank Alumni AC for coming out and doing a great job this week. We had a 12 year old ac unit, and it was using old R22 freon. The coil was rusted out and leaking, which the technician took apart the unit and showed us. He said that it can be repaired, but we decided to go with a new efficient system. The permits were pulled efficiently and all the inspections passed. I want to give a special thank you to Alumni Air conditioning for their help in getting me a new system.
System installed in June of 2015. As well as “new ducting”. Was supposed to be free 1 year maintenance. Never heard from the guy in the first year. Called another company to set up maintenance contract. Found that ducting was poorly installed and not sized correctly. Supply to distribution connect way to small and not able to use the system’s capacity. Big cracks and spaces around connect to each duct. Breaks in main trunk line. Unit was sucking hot air from the attic. As a result coils were totally clogged and need to be replaced. Need total replacement of duct work. Old returns that I was told were taken out were not. Totally messed up job. My advice, don’t use this company. You may pay a little more for a reputable company but it will cost you less in the long run.
Alumni A/C came to my rescue. I had ac problems with a 6 yrs old a/c unit and I was constantly getting the run around with another A/C company. I noticed the a/c was not cooling at all. They were just doing a service call recharging the system and charging me and not actually fixing the problem. I called Alumni A/C and Mr. Smith identified the problem right away. Not only the unit was bad it also had leaks. Miner leaks are easily over looked and are the worst leaks he said. It cause the a/c unit to freeze up and work harder. Its a possibility it shorten the life span of the a/c unit. No telling how long the leaks was there he said. Mr. Smith installed a new a/c unit in timely manor and fixed all the leaks. I would definitely recommend him to anyone for a/c work. Thank you Alumni A/C for your honesty and professional a/c work.
Thank you for helping us in the middle of the night, in the heat of July! This is the worst time to have your AC unit stop working! Alumni AC helped us quickly and efficiently, evaluating the situation and solving the problem with integrity. Use this company if you want professional, honest work WITHOUT the cons and price gouging we have found with other AC repair companies!!
