Our AC went out and we called and they had availability same day! James R came out to my house early within the time frame I was given, and was very professional. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem, then was on his way! I will definitely be using them in the future.
Very professional from the bid to the work completed. After receiving the bid I had a lot of questions that were quickly answered. I was very impressed with both techs that did the install (new AC, furnace, water heater), they worked hard to make sure I was happy with everything they did, and went above and beyond. We recently had a new gas furnace and air conditioning unit installed in our home and we were extremely pleased with the service from the beginning of our contact with Mike’s Heating and Air Conditioning to the end. They were prompt, friendly, very affordable, and most of all they did such an excellent job of installation that even the Building Inspector was impressed! Our new system is so much quieter and efficient than the old one, and the whole process from when we first asked for an estimate until they were done only took about a week! We are very impressed with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone, plus the estimate was thousands of dollars less than the other ones we got. We are replacing a Lennox system that was over 25 years old and was still working, so we were happy to replace it with another Lennox system. These guys and gals are the best!!
Our furnace went out around January 2019 and we called Mike's heating and A/C and a sales rep named Denton came out to bid our system. All was well until they came out to install the heating and A/C Unit. Long story short the installers informed me that they were unable to complete the job as Bid. No alternative options were given we were just stuck having our largest room without adequate heating or cooling. They knocked 200 dollars off the install and left. Fast forward to the summer when we attempted to start using the AC. It overheated and froze over with ICE on the line at the unit. Mike's came out again and "FIXED" the problem. Fast forward to this summer the unit again suddenly stopped working they came out again and "FIXED" the problem stating it was Fuses not the unit. They then proceeded to send us a bill in the mail for 161 dollars. The original unit cost almost $9000.00. I will be having another company come out and inspect the units and their work. I will proceed to take action after their inspection and suggestions. Bottom line, I feel pretty ripped off!!! Fast forward to 2022 and again the unit has stopped working. I refuse to call mikes about this again. What a joke.
My gas fireplace stopped working so I took it apart and tried to clean the coupler as I have in the past but it still wouldn't work. I called Mike's Heating & Air conditioning and they told me it would cost me a 109.00 diagnostic fee. I agreed and they sent a technician out to look at it. No Cleaning, he didn't have to take it apart as it was still apart from when I took it apart myself. Tech said yes you need a new coupler but that it was a special part and would need the whole assembly replaced because just the coupler wasn't removable and that they would have to order it. I told him that once he found the part to give me a quote. After more than a week I had to call Mike's. I was given a quote of an additional 225.00. I said ok, they said they’d order it and call me in 3-5 days. After another 2 weeks I called them back they said that they couldn't find that quote and that they would research it and call me right back, they did not. The next day when I called them they said that "We don't know where that 225.00 quote came from because your quote is 350.00". We said no thanks and called a local Stove shop here in Albany. They came out and for a 99.00 service which included a cleaning. Turns out it was a $30 coupler which they had in hand and fixed it all in one 45 minute visit. I will not do business with Mike's again and will certainly not recommend them to anyone.
