One of the best experiences I have ever had with a heating and cooling repair company. Service was same day and fast, and Rick was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you need service on your furnace or air conditioner, Rick’s Affordable Heating and Cooling won’t break the bank and won’t disappoint.

I called Rick with concerns regarding my furnace and to my surprise he was able to come take a look within 30 minutes! The second he opened up my furnace, he could tell what the problem was and explained thoroughly what was wrong and the numerous ways we could go about fixing it! He was very quick and personable! I highly recommend him!!

This is a zero star review, not a one star since that would be way too high.
After waiting for a month to have warranty work done on my boiler (attributed by Rick to slow delivery times due to COVID despite two day delivery for the parts being available from Amazon), he could not be bothered to show up for the scheduled appointment after I took a day off of work for it. When he was a no-show, I texted his scheduling person, (who is apparently his wife, not that I was ever told that) that I had been patient for 30 days but them missing the appointment was causing me to start to lose my patience. I get an irate call from Rick telling me how dare I treat his wife like that, that he does not want to do business with me. All of that was in reaction to this text, which was not in any way rude and certainly did not mistreat her: “OK. I have been patient for the last 30 days waiting for this service to be scheduled, and today waiting for him to be here. But I am beginning to run out of patience.” As many other reviews have stated, if you have warranty work to be done, you are very likely going to be quite disappointed with Rick's Affordable. Be sure to ask for someone else if your warranty company assigns this company for your job. You will almost certainly regret it if you don't.

In response to Rick’s interesting response - he called me after I sent a text to his wife. The full version of exactly what I sent to her is included above, and since it is factual he had no choice to admit it was not in any way rude or insulting. But, on the phone he immediately accused me of insulting his wife with that text and laid into me about “how dare I treat his wife that way” and it went downhill from there.

That was the reason for the disagreement, and the phone argument that ensued was due to the way he treated me, his customer. If I swore at him at any point, I do not recall that, but if so it was after being accused of things I never did and being treated in a completely non-professional manner. If I swore at anyone it was only at the person I was speaking with, Rick, and I never, never, never said anything about his wife. Nothing. His wife was presumably not at the job site where he was supposedly finishing up, so if she heard any of that conversation either they lied to me about where he was and he had me on speakerphone with her, or, he conference called me with her and did not let me know she was listening, so there is no way I could have known that she was a part of it. But in any event, I did not say anything about her, and treated everyone with respect until I was accused of things I had not done, which did indeed upset me.

As far as the parts go, the Amazon comment was simply to point out that these are not hard parts to come by, and the virus was simply a lame excuse.

I had a reputable company from BG come do the job for me. They stopped by the day after I called them, saw what parts I needed, left for 15 minutes to go to their shop to get them, and finished the job 5 minutes after they returned. It took over a month and Rick couldn’t be bothered with showing up or even making an effort to get extremely common and non-boiler-specific parts while all the while the boiler was leaking water on itself.

As I stated before, if you look at other reviews from people who dealt with him on a third party warranty service call, you will see I am in now way alone with delayed parts (and those instances were all before COVID-19 so that excuse does not work), not keeping appointments etc. I highly recommend you find someone other than Rick to do your work for you.

Our heat went out Saturday night, so I called on a Sunday expecting emergency service charges, but Rick didn't charge any extra to come out and arrived within an hour. He made two visits that day to determine what was wrong and was able to fix it by Monday morning. There were NO EXTRA CHARGES for his three visits and he even worked with me on the cost of the replacement parts.

I definitely recommend Rick for his affordability and service.

Called late at night when we first noticed our furnace had stopped working. My husband spoke to Rick personally that night and even FaceTimed him to take a look at our furnace. He offered to come in early the next day (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) for a service call. He arrived at the time we had scheduled and fixed our furnace quickly. Very friendly and trustworthy guy--we will definitely use him for any future heating/cooling problems! Highly recommend.

Very quick on service call. Called on the last summer heat 90degrees felt like a100. Rick's responded very quickly. He got the problem fixed and it for a very reasonable price. I'm glad I did businesses with him. Rick's affordable hearing will be my first call for now on

AC needed serviced in the middle of the heatwave currently happening, appt set for Saturday. They had some setbacks due to a technician suffering heat exhaustion on another site which pushed back their whole work schedule several hours. Rick still came out at 7:30pm to fulfill the work order. Fast and reliable text communication between the team and customer was convenient and modern, didn't wait more than a few minutes for responses. Rick also was very reasonable and empathetic for the delay in service and did everything he could to rectify the situation, given the circumstances.

A/C unit went out just before the July 4th and opened a service request with my home warranty company. It was assigned to Rick's. With the holiday I decided to be patient and wait until after the holiday week to call for my appointment as I had not been called yet by their office. My appointment was scheduled about week out from when I called which was fine considering the time of year. The day of my appointment Rick showed at 630 only to briefly look at my a/c unit and tell me he would be back the next day. The next day I asked Rick if he could give me an estimate of what time he would be out which went unanswered until almost of the end day in which he indicated he would not be out on Tuesday but would be probably make it out Wednesday. Wednesday the same thing. I asked for a time and never got a response. Thursday I tried calling/texting the office to find out when Rick would be out. No answer at the office. I reached out to Rick and finally got a response back that he was too busy to look at my unit. I am glad business is busy and hopefully that means your business is doing well financially but your busy schedule is not an excuse for not even coming back out to look at the unit. If the issue is your overbooked you probably should look at either taking on less cases and/or hiring additional help. If I could give 0 stars I would but alas google does not afford that option. If anyone was looking for a reference for a/c repair I would never recommend this company. Also I read in others feedback from that company that prioritize jobs with small children and elderly. From my experience this is not the case as I did mention that I have an 8 month old in the house and my a/c unit remains broke with this heat wave coming.

Air Conditioner stopped working day. I called "Rick's"they put a call out to the filed and within 10 minutes a serviceman called me back to arrange a install. A few days later, they arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem at a reasonable, fair rate. Very efficient and kind. Highly recommend.

Service has been wonderful. Two weeks ago we came back from a day trip to find our AC had stopped working. Filed a claim with my home warranty company and they put me in touch with Rick's. Called and got scheduled for an evaluation that Thursday. Tech arrived promptly and diagnosed a bad blower motor. Claim was processed, part was ordered (it was an older furnace) and installed within a week. Would highly recommend this company for your heating or cooling needs.
