I contacted Auburn Heating when I had a problem with my furnace. They arrived the same day. I had previously had them do a furnace tune-up in 2019. I asked the technician to do a tune-up while he was here.
The previous tune-up in 2019 cost $279. The tune-up on the furnace I got yesterday cost us $429. That is a 54% increase in the tune-up charge in 3 years!
I reviewed the log of what was done in 2019 versus what was done yesterday, and the company actually did less yesterday than they did 3 years ago.
I realize that prices for services increase as time goes by, but a 54% increase in 3 years for less service is exorbitant.
In addition to that, when the technician left he did not give me a copy of the bill, telling me it would be emailed to me. I never got the bill that day, so I called the office the next day, only to find out that they did not have my email address on file.
My recommendation? Find another company to service your furnace. If you do business with Auburn Heating, make sure you know what they are charging you before you agree to it. And make sure you get a copy of the bill before the technician leaves.
The entire team at Auburn Heating was professional and responsive. They came out for a maintenance call and realized we needed a new heating system. They had it here and installed within a day. Really enjoyed working with them and would highly recommend them!
I found Auburn Heating to be very efficient, thorough and professional. They explained the issues with my old furnace in detail and in layman’s terms. Also presented options available. Quoted pricing was competitive. Once I made the decision for a new furnace they did everything on the exact schedule that was quoted. Installers were courteous, neat and excellent clean up.
Great experience. Frank - head of company - is a good guy and knows his business. I had gotten a lower price from another company, and Frank was honest and said he couldn't meet it -- or even understand how they offered it. So I looked into it. The other company was going to install -- without even providing options -- a low-end, wholesale type HVAC system that had a low rating and shorter life. Even though we'd told them we wanted this to be our last furnace/AC! But Frank was installing highly rated Trane product, so naturally his cost was greater -- and worth it! His guys came in, took out our old system, moved A/C, installed new system - my husband (who can be a stickler) was really impressed with the way they went about the entire process. And the new system is effortlessly keeping house cool as we'd like this summer! Everyone was polite and neat. Areas looked neat when they left. Auburn also has a nice service plan, but when I wrote to my contact about putting it in place, she was like, "no need, yet - we do the first service free of charge." So, overall I'd have to rate them highly - very happy with the experience! And this is my second furnace and second A/C replacement - all with different Cleveland area companies -- and I have not written this kind of review for any of the others. Oh, and I recommended a friend who was having A/C problems at her house others had been unable to solve - Auburn came in an fixed it! Definite two thumbs up!!
They were hired to re-locate a thermostat and replace it with a new wifi enabled one that I purchased myself.. Installer decided after cutting the hole in the wall that he did not know how to install the thermostat, nor did the subsequent installer they sent out. During this entire process they broke the existing thermostat I had and it took over a week to get the thermostat brand THEY typically use to work once they installed it. I was charged the full quoted price plus an additional $200 for a job that was only 50% completed. The $200 was removed only after advising I would not pay it. Beware they also charge $99 for a furnace "Tune Up" which entails nothing more then the tech shining a light into the furnace for 30 seconds and saying it all looks good. Very poor customer service and I highly recommend staying away from this company. Big mistake.
We called them out because our boiler wasn’t turning on in our girls rooms but was working in the rest of the house. Our children are 6 and 3 and it’s 20 degrees out so we just wanted it fixed. When your technician arrived he went downstairs to look at the boiler and came back up 5 min later to tell us that the valve was broken. He also said besides that one being broken their was another valve that goes to the den that was about to break. He said it was all corroded. He told us he couldn’t get the parts until the end of next week and it would cost us 2000.00$. We said we didn’t care about the money but needed the part sooner so the kids wouldn’t freeze. He said it wasn’t possible to get it sooner so we need to wait and know one else could get it either. My husband said we were going to reach out to another company so we didn’t have to wait that long because the girls were going to freeze. He said he couldn’t help so we paid 125$ for nothing. We then called Stankus heating and cooling and they sent a technician out right away. He went down and looked at the boiler and told us that the valves were absolutely fine, but their was just air in the line cause the water not to move through. He said it was a simple fix and he would have the heat back on in minutes. I was in utter shock and told him what your technician told me. How it was going to cost us 2000.00$ 1000.00$ for each valve and how we had to wait so long for the parts. He laughed and said that those valves are only 500.00$ each and he said he had a stockpile of them at the shop and one in the truck. He said that your tech could have tried flushing the line first which would have taken him 10 minutes. Stankus’s tech then flushed the line get rid of the air and boom the heat was back on!! It cost me150.00$ to get the heat back on!!!!! If we would have trusted your company we would have been without heat for days and 2000$ in the hole for nothing! Your thieves and I hope know one else has to go through what we did. It was a good thing my husband was home and read right though him and thought to get a second opinion because I was ready to wait for the part and pay. DO NOT bother with this company you will get ripped off!!!!!!
My boiler had a slow drip & they were able to come in 2 days to fix it. Super nice over the phone & Andy was nice & explained what he did. Quick easy fix too.
A friend of mine had Auburn Heating give them a price on a new HVAC system for their home. The price was real competitive. The sales person was really knowledgeable and sincere. The installation of the equipment went well. They were very clean and neat respecting their home. After they were completed they explained everything which was very helpful. They received more than they expected. Their service is just as good as well. This was a great experience and Auburn Heating Plumbing & AC will be referred to all their friends and family.
Needed repair of hot water tank. I was told the part would be in within a week. I had to call three weeks later and the part hadn't been ordered yet. The plumber came out three days later, didn't give me a quote, told me that he was incorrect on his first assessment and had to replace a bigger unit and the price was staggering. The plumber told me that yes, they were very expensive. I had to ask three times for a receipt and had to call the office to get one. When I asked the office why the plumber didn't leave the replace part with me and was told that they had to send the part back for the warranty although they kept the warranty money. They double dipped and I paid. So now I can't use the warranty on my own hot water tank to boot!
We had our hot water tank replaced and our furnace received routine maintenance. They were professional, thorough and provided our house with quality work. The only reason we are giving it 4 out of 5 stars though because the final price was just under $900 more than what they told us it would be when we booked to have everything done.
