They are very knowledgeable, and have used them for my home and a number of investment properties. They are, however, very expensive. My most recent repair was an evaporator coil replacement that came in at $2700, and that is with their annual maintenance contract - after paying to find a leak in the system ($~150). They also wanted $750 to replace the pan under the air handler, which is hanging from rafters, just had to cut the pvc, and reconnect the pvc, cost $80 and 30 minutes to replace myself. Another $160 for a capacitor, too - also about a $20 repair. This may not be unique to HVAC contractors in the current economy.

Communication is good, they show up, and they seem to know what they're doing.

Our HVAC system stopped working and they came out immediately to take a look. Jake and also Peter, our technicians both times were very thorough and helpful in explaining everything to us and did a quick and great job getting everything fixed in no time so we could have things back up and running again! He not only called to order the parts we needed immediately but was able to figure out our warranty as well which was a huge help! He showed up right on time and was able to fully repair everything quickly and efficiently and even showed us the before and after completion as well as showed us we had an air filter that we didn’t even know about! I will definitely be using Modern Mechanical in the future and highly recommend them and Jake, they were great!

Seco d service cal on a newly installed HVAC. First I be was odor of gas and this one was AC not cooling. They did respond promptly and make the repair at no cost.
