One year later .
My husband and I have been dealing with yellow bird for a year now . We are both retired disabled veterans, on a fixed income. The promises from this company were great ! Not one of them were fulfilled. They came in and installed the air conditioners and it was not cooling the house properly. They did not take the time to look into the way the house was built. So they ended up having to install another air conditioner. This air conditioner was installed incorrectly and created a leak right into our living room. (Our living room still hasn’t been fully fixed.) Solar panels at this point are supposed to go on to offset the light bill. A year later I have no solar panels . June , July , August, September all light bills were 500.00 to 700.00 plus . We asked for a reimbursement … but we’re given the excuse that because they threw in an extra air conditioner it should off set the cost !! Well if they would have installed correctly at this point we would have not needed another air conditioner. My Husband calls weekly and we always get a run around about a new project manager or no one knows what is going on with our project…. We have even spoken to the owner Rocky directly. At some point they stopped paying attention to us as soon as we financed the project. (Which I had a feeling would happen, they even had the owner call us directly to get it authorized.) I have a unfinished car port that has been a eye sore for over 6 months now. And even that installation they causes a water pipe to bust .. right in the middle of winter. This has been a horrible experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone . Maybe the Better Business Bureau, needs to be my next call.

The initial sales calls went fine and the prices agreed to seemed fair so I agreed to proceed.

The installation of the heat pump itself started on time but mistakes were made on the electrical supply, and then with the configuration, and the heat pump cooling system start up was 8 days behind the originally expected date indicated by the salesperson.

A week later, on Saturday 8 July 2023, the system bricked itself. With 110F weather this wasn't trivial.

Since this newly installed equipment failure was on a Saturday morning I did not have high hopes to get a service callback from Yellowbird after calling into their emergency number.

To my surprise Patrick from Yellowbird called me on Sunday morning and came over for a quick service call. He diagnosed a simple issue (the condensate level shutdown switch) and now I have a workaround until the condensate line is modified to improve scavenging.

As a customer I would like to see improvement to responsiveness, installation quality ("first time right" attention to detail to avoid rework) and emergency after hours service scheduling.

They are terrible at responding, it is almost impossible to get of hold of them. Their phone system is supposedly “down at the moment “ so you get an answering service that relays the message to them via email. We purchased refrigerated A/C unit and Solar panels. The A/C works great installation great the installer’s great. The solar panels literally takes months we are just one step away from being completely done but I can’t get a hold of them. You’d think they’d call, nope they don’t. If you buy solar from them they will ask you to tell the loan company that they are installed and working so they can get funded, don’t do it big mistake. They will tell you they will pay your loan bill till the Solar Panels are installed and working. We have only been paid for 1 month out of the 6 months and still waiting to complete the project. When asked to when we can expect reimbursement for the other payments they say all reimbursement are on hold, reasoning was that the owner put a hold on the payments. Installation and workers are great, I believe the project managers avoid calls because they are dealing with upset clients. It all stems from the top. Very very poor business practices.

Hector of Yellowbird completed a furnace replacement working with Bryan and Jesus, who installed a new AC compressor . The work was done to the highest standard in a timely fashion with attention paid to insuring a safe and clean worksite and all systems were thoroughly tested and explained. Even though this was not a small job it was done in a day. The new system is more efficient, far quieter, and well insulated for sound deadening. This is an A+ job! Great guys to have in your home.

We got our unit 2 years ago in the winter. It runs fine in the winter. However, when we switched it over from heating to cooling we always have had issues. They came to “fix it”. However nothing got fixed. I saw Yellow Bird workers for a month and every time it was different issue. Not to mention they don’t care about your time because they’re always running late and don’t care to make a curiosity call. On top of that, every time they came they have left a mess. They leave their gloves on the ground and leave the items they checked unwrapped leaving wires exposed. It looks like a mess. We called today because the same issue happened and the manager was so rude. Our unit is still pretty new, and we’ve had the issue since the first time we used it. We’ve been paying on it for it to have never worked right. We have heard horrible things about Yellow Bird but a friend recommended them and we gave it a chance and regret our decision. Such a waste of time & money. Spend it elsewhere. Definitely isn’t fair how we’re being charged to fix a unit that never ran properly to begin with. Don’t waste it on them.

Initial contact with this business was outstanding & professional. Salespeople were prompt and friendly, and follow up was consistent. I cannot stress enough, if you are looking for any service from this company, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Work has yet to be completed, (2 months since city inspection), and contact with company is impossible. Apparently, staff is always in one meeting or another and do not reply to messages.

I bought this house a few months ago. The air conditioning stopped cooling yesterday during a heat wave. Yellow Bird installed the air conditioning, solar and geothermal systems, according to the previous owner. I have written 3 messages and spoken to the personnel answering the emergency services calls, but technicians have not responded. It’s now been 14 1/2 hours since I first contacted Yellow Bird. Clearly the emergency services that are offered by Yellow Bird are false advertising.

Solar Install....my situation is similar to Mrs. Anderson's story. The structure install crew was awesome. They actually noted flaws from the original design and made the required fixes to pass inspection and get the thing up. Panels are installed, but now I am not on the grid either. No one calls. I have had to make all the calls to get updates. Then when EPE went to install the meter, they could not install it because the incorrect breakers were installed. So now I am at a standstill with this project. It was a month after the inspection that I had to finally call them to get an updated. Then they were clueless as to what was going on.
Like Mrs. Anderson, I'm making payments, but not making electricity. Now when you call , they have an answering service that is taking their calls because their phone system is apparently down. Either way, very disappointed in this company. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE YELLOW BIRD, YOU WILL BE LET DOWN. If you are in talks with Yellow Bird, I highly advise you stop working with them. Rocky, if/when you read this, feel free to call me. Get my system installed properly, and then maybe I'll update this post with another star. But I still won't recommend your company for any work. Oh, and I'll consult a lawyer soon since you can't even update your customers on work in progress.

Update 6/14/23: So I drive out to Mesilla Park on 6/2 to their listed location. They have a locked door and there is a paper saying that they are no longer located there and that to contact Rocky Baccus at an email listed on the paper. Well, the following week I finally got a call back. They said their phones were back up and had been dealing with internal issues(obviously), and they were scheduling with EPE for another inspection. Well, I got an email on Monday, 6/12, saying that the system is still not installed correctly and to reschedule once required repairs have occurred. So I guess this is progress....???....lol.

I highly recommend NOT to purchase anything from this Company. Once you pay or they have your money you won't hear from them again, and they will happily fund other projects with your money. They charge for Geo-Thermal and will not install it. They weld pieces of metal together for the solar structures to mount the panels ruining the structural integrity to save money not following the engineer's plans. They part lemon A/C units together and sell it for full price. They don't pay employees for months after they have been laid off. Steer clear.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. We had our unit installed 2 years ago and it has been nothing but problems. They will drag the issues out stating that they have “fixed them” until your warranty runs out so that they have charge you an arm and a leg. Even if you have consistent documentation of this issue, they will refuse to help you in anyway until they can run you dry. The front desk people are always nice but the office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. This is not a company that values their customers or their quality of work. Steer clear. They will promise you rebate but in reality, they have no clue what they are talking about and it’ll mess you up once come tax season. A greedy company with no morals.
