We were having trouble with our old air conditioner and asked Schwantes to come out and look at it. Turns out we needed a new AC unit. Today Steve came out and installed our new unit. Steve was friendly, professional, and most important to me, he explained everything he did in a way I would understand, but he didn't talk down to me. I felt comfortable asking him questions. He did a beautiful job and I am now comfortable in our home again. I also want to give a shout out to Joe, who came first and tried very hard to fix our old unit. He was also great. They are a great company.

Our AC went out during very hot weather a few weeks ago. Called Schwantes. They arrive and after minimal assessment determined I needed to replace everything. They followed up with a “comfort specialist” who was actually the salesman. He came and had no information from the previous tech and asked me what was wrong. Really? Shouldn’t he know that? First of many red flags. Couldn’t answer some very basic questions from my quickly reading about basic AC problems on the internet and said it was because “He was not a tech”. Whole replacement was verbally estimated to be $7,000 to $14,000. Took all my info and was going to send me a quote. Never sent it or even any follow up message or call. We needed AC fixed urgently. It was hot and kids and pets were very hot. I had to call them several days later to follow up with them for the quote. They said they will look into it and get back to me asap. Never heard from them. I then called a friend who sent over his AC professional he has used for years. Over the phone my friend’s recommendation was able to tell me that based on the symptoms, more simple diagnostic work needed to be done. A need for new AC unit didn’t sound right and gave me the obvious (to a professional) reasons why. My friends recommendation came over and did some diagnostics work and fixed it for $400. It works better than it ever has now.
In summary, they did little to no diagnosis of the problem just told me that I need a new AC unit. They charged me $90 for the service call and didn’t even give me a quote or diagnosis. Just “You need a whole new system” So disappointing and very shady. Beware and get a second opinion or two. Many good service providers that are fair and reputable and willing to only do the work needed and will be able to clearly explain the problem and rationale to you.
It has now been weeks and yes the problem has been fixed, but still no response from Schwantes.
Zero. So, I decided to share my experience with you so you can beware.

Schwantes just set me up with a brand new furnace. It's Monday as I write this, and my old furnace went out last Friday evening. Scott, their salesman, set me up for a new furnace. I am eligible for rebates that he mentioned as well. I am a Veteran, so they gave me $250 off for that too. I am very happy with my experience!

This place was great! Got a few quotes and they match or beat many others. Super quick and top notch installation. My service tech Pat went way above and beyond fixing issues with my furnace when he was here to install an new AC.

Called for service at 6:30 am on 4th of July holiday and Joe showed up at 8:30. Got to the root of the issue (mouse), made the necessary repairs quickly, efficiently and professionally. No salesmanship which we assumed we would get because we have an old unit. Appreciate the fast, friendly, professional service. Very satisfied.

From start to finish, they were a class act. Steve and Dylan came out to do the install and were very friendly, professional, competent, and respectful of our property. Our furnace stopped working in the middle of a cold winter day and Schwantes immediately came out with someone to assess the situation (cracked heat exchanger on a 27 year old unit. It had a good run!) and give us all the options, including our similarly aged A/C. We were treated respectfully and given a timely response and never felt pressured to purchase or make a decision in that moment. The employee gave us a quote with all of their current discounts without us having to ask and walked us through our efficiency options and even the rebates available to us via Xcel and taxes. Our furnace was able to be installed the very next morning and works wonderfully (and with the new efficiency, our heating bill came down drastically). Our A/C was installed when the weather was appropriate for it to be tested to ensure that everything was in working order, and again, same great experience.

Our AC fan failed which took Joe about five minutes to diagnose. He ordered in the new part and was out at 8AM the next day to complete the install which was great since the house was over 80 degrees with a forecast of 90 that day. Joe was great to work with.

This “awesome” employee almost caused a 2 separate crashes on 694- he was in a hurry weaving in & out of traffic at speeds approaching 100mph. Obviously, he got nowhere fast- poor advertising for his employer

Patrick's careful attention verified a high efficiency S9V2-VS furnace could be installed through a difficult route for the flue. He and Chris got the 20 foot pipe to the job so it could be completed in one day.
