Just bought a new home and HVAC broke the first time we used it. The unit was just over 5 yrs and apparently just out of warranty period and they couldn't fix it - made no efforts to offer a quick replacement at a competitive price. We bought a unit from them before which was ok but didn't pass initial inspection due installation problem. There are better AC company in Lansing.

Have used A-1 Mechanical for quite some time. Have been very satisfied.
Today Mike was polite, efficient, answered questions, did a great job on my aging air conditioner.

Both the sales rep, Bob as well as the installer, Nate, were great. In terms of pricing, I received multiple estimates and all were in line with each other. I went with A-1 due to their good online reviews. They were responsive and came on time. The installation had some issues given the age of our house, but Nate was great about being patient and wouldn't leave until the job was done and I could really tell he cared about the quality of his work. Give that man a raise!

A1 Mechanical was a place I once called my second family. This was a place that I poured my blood, sweat and tears into for 10 years. This was also a place where eventually I learned that I became “just another number”. This was a place that when I was already beaten down, they made a decision to kick me down, one last time. This was truly an eye opener as they showed me their true colors. I had been off on medical leave due to foot/ankle surgery. I was recovering for 2 weeks and I then was let go from my job. The next day I had my first follow up appointment with my surgeon and even though I was no longer an employee, I still provided my doctor excuse and was on restrictions for 2 months. My recovery was longer than expected. I was laid in bed recovering for 4 months and I had to learn to walk again. Given this whole situation, and the fact that I was a faithful employee for 10 years, I feel that the termination was unethical and unfair. Although I once felt as if A1 Mechanical treated their employees fair, after this I now know that I was very wrong. No matter the hard work that I put in over the years, I was tossed aside and shown no compassion or thankfulness for all of my hard work and dedication to the company.

Joe was very friendly and easy to work with. He was genuine in wanting to understand the issue and gave us tips to keep our system running smoothly.

Chad fixed our furnace and we are very happy with the result! He was on time and professional, and fixed our igniter quickly. Thank you!

I love A-1. I’m not handy at all and whenever A-1 comes to inspect the furnace or AC the person is always really friendly and informative. I feel they give me a good sense for what maintenance, if any, is really helpful for the long term and also things that are less necessary and can help me save money. Feels like a friendly neighborhood business. For example I was telling Mark, who came today, that I wish I had a better understanding for how some of these things worked and so he showed me a bunch of stuff while he was working so I could learn a bit. I like that kind of thing!

My journey with A-1 Mechanical began several months ago as we planned to replace our furnace and AC unit. Don came out and met with us to talk through everything, he gave us multiple options for equipment and financing, and applied absolutely no pressure!! No crazy gimmicks or sales tactics, just old fashioned quality customer service.

Fast forward to installation day. Andy showed up and performed the most professional and personable installation I have ever experienced. Prior to his arrival, I received a text with his photo and a professional bio that gave me assurances he was my assigned technician. He was clean, professional, and courteous throughout the entire experience. He truly cares and it shows in everything he does.

Being this is day one with the new equipment, I can only really say: What a great experience!
