A-1 Mechanical

My furnace stopped working. A1 came out within a couple of hours. The repair was very fast which made the price a little high, but I always get good quality work from A1. And they will return for free within 30 days if the problem persists.

Hayden, was a very courteous and respectful serviceman. He could ans all of my questions. We appreciated his support.

Larry was professional and very informative. He quickly identified my issue and provided an economical solution. So far all is good and my furnace is running smoothly.

Job was done professionally and the technician let us know everything that he identified. He was friendly around our kids. Would recommend A-1 for any HVAC needs.

Called to get our furnace looked at. They came out and lied about how much each item was to fix the furnace $1500+. So they set up a sales call to buy a new furnace. Called another repair guy and was quoted $650 for all three repairs. So thanks for nothing A1. Won't everuse this business again!

I called A1 as soon as they opened because our furnace had stopped working during the night. Hayden was at our house in less than an hour and was very polite and professional the whole time. He worked with me to at least get our heat working again for a few days while we scheduled a new furnace installation.

I reached out to A-1 Mechanical because my furnace was not lighting. The blower worked, but despite my best efforts, I could not determine why the igniter wasn't working. A tech from A-1 came out and assessed the situation. He determined the igniter was not getting the right voltage, and that there must be a problem with the circuit board. He told me the fix would cost $1,200, and the part would take about 2 weeks to arrive because there was not a Lennox distribution center in Michigan. He then suggested that my furnace was getting up there in age (10 years old), and that I might want to replace the entire unit because there was no guarantee that replacing the circuit board would solve the problem. (By the way, 10 years is not super old by any means...) I told him I would like a quote for the repair, but since there was also an A-1 furnace salesperson in the area, I said I would be willing to have him stop over and provide a quote for the replacement as well. The quote given to me for replacement was around $4,000. I received a quote for the replacement right after that meeting, but never received one for the repair. I called A-1 the next day to follow-up and request the repair quote, and the person I talked to said they were already looking into ordering the part. I told them I never specified if I would like to go the repair route or the replacement option. They asked. I told them I would like to do the repair, and again they told me it would take two weeks for the part, and that they would call me once that comes in. I never received a quote, and I decided to look for the part myself. Took all of 5 minutes to find the part on Amazon, but I also found it on a certified Lennox distributor website. I ordered the part for $160. It arrived 3 days later (not 2 weeks), and I installed it myself in about 20 minutes. A-1 never called me back... So that said, thanks to the tech for identifying the problem. I saved $1,000 by installing it myself. Overall, regarding the company, terrible communication and upsell effort. I will not be calling A-1 Mechanical in the future.
