It’s Friday of a holiday weekend and we can’t get through to this company that says they provide 24/7 service. The voicemail is full! How unprofessional! Meanwhile, our 6 month old furnace purchased from Comfort First isn’t working properly and upon inspection this morning there is a leak or condensation dripping from brand new PVC pipes they installed - and it is dripping on to the electrical switch on the side of the furnace!

Do not call for geo thermal help, there technicians are clueless and WAY over priced. My regular guy doesn’t do geo’s and hence why I tried comfort first. Their first tech came out, spent 3 hours on the phone with someone else telling him what to do next. They refilled the coolant at $175 per pound when my guy charged $90. $510 later it was “fixed”Until the next day when it died again. I called back. They sent another tech out who was just as clueless. 2 hours here and he said “I don’t know what’s wrong” said he could try a few things that might work and when asked how much, he said $1200 to start, which included a new $600 thermostat. No way!! I called K&B mechanical who came out the next day ON TIME and had it figured out in less than 30 minutes. K&B knew the answers to my questions and didn’t need to type them into google like comfort first tech did and then read me the answers he found online. 🤨

Comfort First Heating and Cooling recently installed two woodburner inserts. They were prompt to provide me with a written quote that was far more competitive than any local companies I contacted. Upon installation, they were on time, friendly and very professional. They treated myself, my family as well as my animals with great care. I highly recommend Comfort First Heating and Cooling for any woodburner needs you may have.

My furnace motor died this week. I received fast, friendly service from Comfort First. Brad fixed the problem quickly and answered all my questions as he worked. I'm very pleased and happy to have a warm house.

This isn't your average story...
I own a rental home in Lansing, wherein an old tree had rooted away the main sewer exhaust from the house to the city sewer hookup... in December... a week prior to the Holidays. Needless to say, it was an expensive, City-required hassle to end the year. Part of the work was that the excavation and plumbing company needed my Central AC Unit moved, as the sewer line ran underneath it. They don't do that, so they had me call around to see what companies in the area would remove an AC Unit, in the dead of winter. Short answer... only one. Comfort First.
All other companies were worried about the logistics of it all. I needed it removed now, but not reinstalled until May. Some worried about the cold and how it would affect the work or the unit. Some were merely overpriced because "it's not AC Season". And on that note, some were just confused about why anyone would worry about AC in December. Google "AC install in Lansing"; the top 15 results ended in one of these conversations.
Anyway, this lead me to three companies willing to do it, and because of the season, everyone EXCEPT Comfort First took the opportunity to, frankly speaking, price-gauge me for it.
Comfort First was the only company in Lansing that understood the dilemma, sent someone out immediately to uninstall in the middle of winter, sent someone else to reinstall when the spring weather hit, AND kind enough to treat both as separate services, thereby charging only for the work done at that moment, instead of requiring full payment for all work upfront. Of all parties involved during this horrendous freak repair, Comfort First was by far the easier, and most cost effective that I dealt with.
When I paid (the very low cost) for this service, I knew that Comfort First had earned it and then some. They'll have my business for my rentals and my home, from this point forward.

Called and asked for a quote for a large commercial building. I received a callback from one project manager where I explained what it is we were looking for and he told me that he needed to get back with me that following Monday because he needed to speak with his bosses about what a big project it is. I never heard back from anybody. I would expect that if the job was too large for you or if you were too busy that you would at least give a courtesy call to explain that it is not a job that you were able to take on.

Needed a new pressure switch for our furnace. The service man installed one. Ran the hose right over the fan motor. Got torn out within the first few minutes of use. Noticed electrical tape over inlet of "new" part. Installer did not have time to do this because I sat there and watched. Still wondering if you should call? Well it's 52° inside. $199 dollars later and my 5 year old is shivering.
