If the actions of this driver is an indication of the company, I would not endorse them. The driver of this Petro vehicle -- #1727 -- taken at noon on January 7, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, proceeding through an intersecting thruway AT SPEED. Not only that, the driver was wearing audio headphones while driving. Last I checked, it's a violation of MD law. I cannot endorse a company who allows such unsafe driving practices, especially coming through an intersection right in front of a child daycare center! A suggestion to Petro: place a contact number so that drivers might report such poor driving to the company. This is unacceptable.

The worst gas company I have EVER witness someone do business with. We thought we ran low on propane, so we called Petro out to refill on Friday, Nov 5. The worker comes out and notifies us that the propane isn’t low enough to refill, but that there seems to be an issue with a valve on the furnace. He assured us that the valve would have to be ordered for Monday, therefore we would have to be without heat all weekend. Today, Monday 11/8, rolls around and a worker visits our home to replace the valve while we are away at work. I come home to discover an awful, very potent gas smell throughout the entire house - so bad, it made my eyes water. My boyfriend, myself, & my dog evacuated the home immediately; we notified my boyfriends mother, who owns the home, and she called Petro. For a company that states “24/7 customer service”, they sure do a damn good job at not answering the phone. We waited & no response, so the only thing left to do was call the fire department. Fire department showed up, detected “high scents” of propane gas leaking directly from the furnace; the fire department spent an hour airing out our entire house. My boyfriend’s mother called Petro around 6:00pm & the company stated they would have dispatch call us in 15-20 minutes. It is now 7:45pm & Petro never called; my boyfriend’s mother ended up calling Petro’s customer service AGAIN just to discover they put us on the list for TOMORROW between 5 to 9 PM. I have never seen a company have such a lack of empathy for individuals who could of potentially been severely injured and/or sick from a gas leak created by THEIR EMPLOYEE. Please refrain doing any business with this company - I am truly disgusted in their actions. This company doesn’t even deserve one star.

We have been a Petro customer for 14 years and have an annual maintenace contract at current $493.00 We have sold our home and are down sizing to Nevada. I asked Petro to sell us 100 gallons for heating oil. They refused saying their minimum is 150 gallons at $5.99.9 (call it $6.00 because that is what it is) plus taxes of course. I asked to speak with a supervisor. That worked...sort of. I ended up having to buy 100 gallons at $5.99.9...so $600.00 plus taxes. However they will take a reading just before we move so we will get the value of the remaining oil added to our payout. No charge for the move out reading...I guess?

Our Heating System Stopped Working Yesterday. After Several Attempts of calling them, they will not able to come for 2 days! Leaving us now heat for this freezing weather! I think our oil run out, how come they miscalculate or had wrong estimate when to deliver next! When Im on automatic Delivery? Tell me please? We've been with your company for 3 years!

Always delivers on schedule and I have worked with to replace a furnace in the past on a home I sold. All work satisfactory.

Petro Home Services was great. Making the service appointment was quick and easy. The service person called before arriving *early*, was wearing a mask, and was courteous and professional. It turned out the problem was not covered in our policy, but it was fixed, so I'm happy.

I had a Heat Pump installed by Petro in July 2020. The heat pump is suppose to use auxiliary backup heating source, which in my case is oil heat. I have had Petro services department come out to my house SIX times since July 2020 because the system is not functioning as it should. The heat pump does not automatically switch to auxiliary heat, it has to be done manually. When I questioned Petro about the issue they told me it was a new system TRANE, and their technicians didnt have a lot of experience with the system. My question is why would a company install a product they cannot support. I think that Petro should stick to what they know best --- delivering oil to customers and stay out of the installation business. I have spoken with the Service Supervisor , the Service Manager and I am still having the same problem. For the cost of the heat pump, i expected much better service. I guess I know now who i WON"T be calling to replace my furnace when it needs to be replaced.

We used Petro for years and they let our tank run dry 3 times. They would tell me when I called that the computer said we have oil.
I switched to eastern oil and was happy for years, but, recently it was sold to Petro!! Well I expected it and was right, they let us run dry again!!! Worst oil company ever!! If you have seniors or small children, don't use this company!!

Update. Still waiting for a call or solution. They answered my review saying they have reached out. Lies!! I have a screenshot of my incoming calls and messages, nothing from Petro. I have been waiting 5 days and have called them every day.
They brought oil, charged me way way above market rate, damaged my property, sent another truck with oil after they had already filled my tank and drive their heavy truck over my neighbors yard causing substantial damage and I have it on video.
I am considering legal action.

WORST COMPANY EVER.
My husband canceled their service last year, this year we switch to gas and company supposed to came back cut the pipes. This company came, no body was at home, and they just pour oil in the house. We didn't have tank anymore so they just pour in the basement where we have really expensive equipment worth over 15k, everything is destroyed. Petro home service refuse to compensate for the damage they make in our basement. On the top of that all house still smell on oil and we can even sleep, I have a headache last few days. All stuff who we talk with was unprofessional, one technician came same day when this happen and he just give us some cherry spray and said like " Good luck with this, some ppl get money form them, some don't get anything. It could be worst." WHAAT? So this is not single case, they do this all the time, pour oil in wrong house and don't have any responsibility.
That day they left recipe $10 and some change, today they send us another bill $80.00 for the person who came to see their mess!
First this person came because of their mistake, second I will never pay them $80.00 only if they accept to pay damage what them make in my house! Someone needs to be responsible for this, the damage what the make is $15,000.00 !

DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE!!!!

The representative that came to my house was timely, friendly, and advisory. However, Petro charged me $119 for someone to come out after hours. Great, except that ZERO work was performed and I was still left without Herat at my home for a day and a half. The technician looked at what I had reported, said he didn’t have the material to fix/replace the parts and was out in 5 minutes tops. So, why the charge if no work was done?
