I would not recomend River city air conditioning. I recently had a bad experience with management getting a estimate on new AC. managements very poor communication efforts and lack of interest to the customer was disappointing to say the least. I had been a customer for a few years and wasn’t going to get a estimate from anybody else. But lack of communication sent me elsewhere. I’m glad I did. I went with Nicks AC out of Hammond, WAAAAY better pricing and WAAAAY better customer service and installation. Getting a estimate? Try others.
I had my Air Conditioning system safety check today & Britton was very thorough with his inspection of the indoor & outdoor unit. He was very professional, polite, & courteous.
Called for routine AC maintenance. The technician opened up the heater for some strange reason. My thermostat flashed three times. Service tech poorly cleaned outdoor coil. Afterwards my unit began short-cycling and failing to remove humidity. I called them again. They sent out a technician who kept insisting that nothing was wrong with a unit that turned on and off continuously. Finally after I threatened legal action, they replaced my thermostat with a cheap model for a fee.
The first replacement did not cool at all. The second one they installed took five hours to reduce the temperature by six degrees. They told me to just let it run. By this time they had consistently fumbled with other parts of the unit, opened the air handler and indoor coil. This caused a water drip in the reservoir pan. This time they claimed the coil pan was rusty.
My system worked perfectly until this company came out to perform a basic service job. Stay far away from them!! They will sabotage your unit. This is a warning. Check out other BBB complaints. They also use the name One-hour heating and Air. Same company.
I called River City Air as my 3 year old unit was icing up. I figured I was low on Freon as that typically what causes. I was anticipating a routine cleaning and "charge up" of system. The technician basically told me my unit was never installed correctly and said I was missing one critical unit and that I had burned up my fan motor. Anyway he said it was be $4,300 to get it fixed. I did not believe him and called a local mom and pop A/C service provider. Ends up my filter had just gotten a little to dirty to let the needed air through it to keep it from freezing---he charged me $75 for visit and I replaced filter myself---air is blowing fine now. He further said that I didn't need a cleaning nor any freon as the unit was just fine.
Bobby did a fantastic job replacing my evaporator coils. He was punctual, courteous, professional and completed the job within the time frame that he quoted us.
River City Air has an employee named Steve. He is unlicensed and morally unfit to enter your property. He started a job to replace my entire system in the company truck and after being paid did not return to complete the job. I will be posting pictures of this man as well as the unfinished work. Although he thinks he may have gotten away with this, the storm has only just begun. I have posted photos of his unfinished and unacceptable work. After paying him almost 1300.00 my family continues to be subjected to unbearable temperatures above 80'

This was our 6 months maintenance contract. Our repairman did a wonderful job, he was early, and he explained everything in detail.
