I had been smelling the scent of gas in one particular area of the house off and on. I called and set up an appt to have the heating unit serviced to see if that would remedy the problem or if the tech saw something major that needed more serious attention. They showed up on time but when the tech came to the house the only work he did was check for a gas leak. They did NOT perform the routine maintenance on the unit like I requested. And then they charged me $97 for the call out. I called back to the office and asked them why the tech didn't perform the service. They informed me there are 2 different kinds of service calls. 1 for service and 1 for repair. They said I only requested for a repair and since they didn't find any gas leak they couldn't do anything about it. I asked that they set up another appointment to have the unit serviced, only I would like the $97 credited to the next call out for the misunderstanding. They said they couldn't do that and that they owner (Rick Farrell) would call me back about the dispute. I explained the situation to him and he told me I requested the wrong type of service. I insisted I would still like to use them for the service call out if he would just credit the $97, and reminded him I am the customer here. He told me "just because you're the customer it doesn't make you right". I reminded him that I will never be using his company again and I will continue to go to his local competitor in the future. Sad thing is I used these guys for all of my duct work when I finished the basement two years ago as well.
We have used Farrels’s for many years. Recently our 23 year old furnace started giving indications that a part was failing. Farrels quickly evaluated the issue and priced out both a repair and furnace replacement. We elected replacement and Farrels were able to start the install promptly. The install team was outstanding and we were very happy with the results.
On November 29 we called for a parts switch out. This is for my parents (as I'm out of state, and they know little English). Not only did we already have a replacement part available sent by the original manufacturing company, we also knew what needed to be repaired and even had the parts for it. For 2 hours of service they charged them 450$ for a valve replacement. When I called the office, the lady on the phone gave me no other answer then it was by code and because she did not have his paperwork in hand did not know what it was exactly for but stated we already knew of the pre charge of 97$ to just go out to their house to take a look and he was there for "several hours". He was not. I emphasized he was there for 2 hours and 15 minutes (says so on the paperwork). If I had looked at the reviews closer I would've realized that this isn't the first time they over charge for "additional services" that are quite frank, unnecessary. Make sure you get a quote from them before hand, I will never be using this company again.
The "boys in blue" are very prompt in taking care of all of our heating and cooling needs as well as cleaning out our dryer vent. The technician who comes to our residence is very knowledgable, friendly and efficient. We would certainly recommend using Farrell's Heating and AC for all your needs in this area.
The technician was here promptly as promised to perform scheduled AC preseason maintenance. He was personable and professional and gave us good information about future issues concerning our residential AC and Heater. We would highly recommend Ferrell for any HVAC repair or replacement work as well as preseason tune-ups.
We woke up this morning freezing cold, only to discover our heater wasn’t working. We’re glad it chose now rather than during the upcoming polar vortex to stop working. My husband tried taking a look at it himself to see if he could get it going to no avail, so we decided to call in the professionals! We called Farrell’s first thing this morning and they were here right away, now that’s quick service! Our technician was professional, polite, and answered all questions asked. Turns out our igniter had a crack in it and needed to be replaced, which was done all in this one visit. Thankfully, our heat is back on to keep us warm as the polar vortex is on its way! Thank you, Farrell’s! We appreciate your prompt and courteous service! We will definitely be using (and referring) this business in the future for all of our heating and cooling needs.
Great experience! Our furnace went on the fritz just as the cold weather was starting to arrive. They made the 1 hour trip almost immediately to resolve the issue. And then turned around and came back a few days later to install a faulty part. Shannon was great! I'm very appreciative!
We have used Farrells for total bathroom renovations and everyday plumbing repairs. They are always on time, professional and there are no surprises. They charge a fair fir exceptional service. Very dependable and highly recommended.
On Friday afternoon March 5,2021 ,we had an issue with our furnace , and after calling the service department a service tech was sent out within an hour , and it was determined there was an issue with the heat exchanger and it was recommended that the furnace should be replaced. The replacement was done on Monday March 8 . All the techs , the installation crew were very professional and efficient.
I highly recommend Farrell's Heating & Air Conditioning for service on the Trane systems. Shannon was so helpful in teaching me how the system functions, so I was able to diagnose the issue with the damper not working when I switched it to the air conditioning side. Great job to Farrell's!
