Beware of bad customer service.

I had this company install a new AC system a few years ago. I paid extra to opt into the Labor program where the labor would be covered if anything were to break, but I have to get Discount H&C to service my AC every year. I would get a call EVERY YEAR to remind me to set up a maintenance appointment. No problem! Thanks for the reminder!

Fast forward to this year. I noticed that I haven't gotten a call from them for a while, and decided to check in with them. They told me that I voided the Labor program because my AC wasn't serviced by them last year. I DIDN'T RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THEM. They said they mailed me a couple postcards and that should've been enough of a reminder. How hard is it to give someone a call? Or even an automated email?

If you actually cared about your customers you should make sure to call them, especially if it's something that would void a program.

I have been consistently impressed with the level of responsiveness and professionalism provided by Discount Heating & Cooling. I needed a new AC/furnace system due to the aging conditions of mine and like most people got a number of estimates of which this one was the most reasonable. From the initial appt. to post installation the level of communication and knowledge from Steve, Cathy and Doug has exceeded my expectations. They have answered every one of my questions with patience and with great detail. In addition, I had an issue post installation with my AC unit that had nothing to do with the service but the unit itself and they were here to my house within less than 48 hours to fix it. I was shocked as this was during a time when temperatures are running high and it is peak season. While they may be called Discount Heating and Cooling the service they provide is exceptional!

I've used them for many years for maintenance & cleaning. As a first time homeowner, years ago furnace went out on a very cold day. I called and they walked me thru a manual start on thermostat to do a check. Today, I called for loud banging noise, again, they walked me through steps to check. I appreciate the over the phone assists rather than a company trying to charge me for something they know is a simple fix.

I recently bought a new furnace and AC and the installation team was awesome. They were on time and incredibly patient as they answered my numerous questions. Recently the AC was making a strange sound which turned out to be a vent problem and Doug came out twice in two days without charge for the repair. He did need to order parts but made sure everything was fixed and working, even squeezing me in between appointments to ensue I was completely satisfied. The dispatcher is also great. She called to let me know Doug was on the way and when he was running a few minute late. Please do yourself a favor and call them. You won’t regret it.

My mother just replaced the furnace in the house, and usually likes this company. She’s used them in the past, and has had a positive experience. Unfortunately, she was treated terribly by an employee named Jerry from Discount Heating and Cooling who was extremely rude and demeaning when asked about the new thermostat installed. I was appalled at hearing this.
I don’t care where you work- you don’t treat paying customers like that. He should find a new career, or learn some patience and respect to keep his job. I would re-evaluate this employee.
Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. We will never hire “Jerry” again. Please look into this unless you want to lose customers.

I don’t typically leave reviews but I felt compelled to leave one for Discount Heating and Cooling. The service was above average. The technician showed up on time and was quick to diagnose the issue that I was having. Not only did they repair the issue but the friendly demeanor of the technician and willingness to explain things to me really left a great impression upon me. The cost to repair was reasonable also.
I higher recommend this company!

I just bought a house with one of these HVAC units and I had a fuse blow the first night we moved in (literally) and our AC was out overnight. Doug saved me from the wrath of a very unhappy wife and very calmly walked me through getting it reset and setting up my new Nest thermostat. From the time I called Doug until the time we started feeling cold air again was about 20 minutes, I'd say. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this one deserves it. Stellar service.

Our boiler stopped working this morning. The temp in the house had already dropped five degrees before we noticed. I called Discount Heating & Cooling fully prepared to be told that they were swamped and couldn't come right away. But to my very pleasant surprise, they had someone to our place within an hour, and he (Doug) had it fixed 30 minutes later. The whole operation was painless, and Doug himself was courteous, knowledgeable, and very professional. I can't recommend them highly enough. (Although I hope to not see them again until my annual maintenance appointment next Fall ;-)

Beware, free inspection Scam

Our furnace was working and sounded fine, but after the Tech was done we had a noisy furnace and a $700 fee. I explained the situation to the office manager and he responded as if this was my fault with no other options for solution. This is a shame as we have been with DH&C for over 15 years and spent way over 17K throughout. You have lost another customer. I understand we are all in difficult situation, but it is not right scamming your customers this way.
